For a player to be listed, he must be owned in 50 percent (or less) of Yahoo! leagues. The goal is to provide recommendations of players that have a greater chance of being available on your league's waiver wire. Of course, your league's size and settings could significantly impact whether these players (or better options) are available in your particular league(s).
With that said, here are some tight end waiver-wire options that I like heading into Week 7 (Yahoo! ownership in parenthesis):
[Note: Players listed below are sorted by my preference to add.]
1. C.J. Uzomah, Cincinnati Bengals (33 percent)
With both Tyler Eifert out for the season and Tyler Kroft out indefinitely, it will be Uzomah dominating the tight end opportunities for the Bengals and he had seven targets in Week 6. Uzomah converted those opportunities into six catches for 54 yards.
A pair of favorable matchups before their bye set Uzomah up for value as a streaming option over the next two weeks. The Bengals face the Chiefs in Week 7 and Buccaneers in Week 8 and they (along with the Steelers) are the three most-generous defenses to opposing tight ends this season.
2. Ricky Seals-Jones, Arizona Cardinals (21 percent)
Seals-Jones had five catches for 69 yards on six targets against the Vikings in Week 6. It was the second consecutive game that RSJ had six targets and he now has six targets in four of six games this season. With more than 50-yards in two of three games (sandwiched by a goose egg in Week 5), it's uncertain what fantasy owners will get in Week 7, but the volume is a positive sign.
3. Vance McDonald, Pittsburgh Steelers (50 percent)
McDonald won't offer fantasy owners any value in Week 7 as the Steelers enter their bye week, but he set season highs in both receptions (seven) and targets (eight) on Sunday as he finished with 68 yards. McDonald now has 62-plus yards in three of four games and he has five-plus targets in four of five games. If you need help at the position in general as opposed to just a bye-week replacement in Week 7, McDonald could be a back-end TE1 the rest of the way.
