The Athletic -- Rank: 27
They had no answers for the Ravens' blitz. According to TruMedia's EPA model, the Bengals delivered the worst single-game offensive performance of the season. Joe Burrow was sacked seven times, the offense totaled just 12 first downs, and they had three turnovers. The A.J. Green situation is getting ugly. Green left the game with a reported hamstring injury. The only time he was targeted was on a Burrow interception. On the season, Green is averaging 0.78 yards per route run. That ranks 108th among the 117 wide receivers who have run at least 50 routes this season.

Joe Burrow found out against the Ravens that it can be tough sledding in his division games without protection. The offensive line has to be better.

Andy Dalton's former team just suffered its worst loss (27 points to Baltimore) since the Ravens beat Cincinnati by 36 last November ... when Dalton had been benched in favor of Ryan Finley.

Is it acceptable to lump the entire offense into this category? Because every offensive metric is, uh, not ideal. Yards per play, red zone efficiency and touchdowns per drive are among the categories in which the Bengals rank near the bottom of the league. Having a shaky offensive line, a lack of explosive wide receivers, a rookie quarterback and a relatively inexperienced playcaller have all factored into the lack of points. The Bengals lost a game Sunday that featured very little in the way of positives. Joe Burrow was beaten up once again, sacked by seven different Ravens and hit 15 times in his least productive day as a pro Joe Mixon failed to build off his breakout Week 4 (a wrecked game script played a role there), and Cincinnati managed just 205 total yards in a 27-3 loss. There was also this, which was all kinds of depressing. The Ravens are a tough assignment for any offensive line, but the Bengals are flirting with disaster in their failure to protect Burrow, who has been sacked and battered more than any other passer in the league through five games. You must protect The Future at all costs.
