The Athletic -- Rank: 1
Exceeding expectations: If aliens landed on earth, watched the Chiefs' offense play a game of football and then watched most other NFL offenses, they would think they were witnessing two different sports. We know what we're getting with Andy Reid at this point: creative play calls, pass-heavy game plans and either a cheeseburger or sweet and sour pork reference during his post-game press conferences. Reid continues to be ahead of the curve with his offensive philosophy and has done a tremendous job of maximizing the wealth of talent at his disposal. Some of the game management issues that plagued him earlier in his career could surface at any time, but for the most part, Patrick Mahomes' smarts and command have alleviated those. Reid has been great for a long time, but at 62 years old, he is likely just now experiencing the most fruitful stretch of his career.

Meanwhile, Kansas City has a very legitimate shot at a rare 15-1 record ... which may not be enough to get champs a first-round bye.

Most important game remaining: Week 15 at New Orleans
If the Chiefs are to catch the Steelers for the AFC's No. 1 playoff seed, they might have to win out. Four of their five remaining opponents aren't on their level, and then there's New Orleans. So the Saints could be the team standing between the Chiefs and a first-round playoff bye. Normally, this would be one of the least important games of the Chiefs' remaining schedule because the Saints play in the NFC, but this is not a normal season. -- Adam Teicher

We might be reaching the point where the NFL has to split up Patrick Mahomes and Tyreek Hill. The pairing is simply too unfair for opponents. Just ask the Buccaneers, a very capable defense that was embarrassed by the Terror Twins in a 27-24 Kansas City victory. Hill boasted over 200 yards receiving by the end of the first quarter and finished his day with 13 catches for 269 yards and three touchdowns on 15 targets. Mahomes accounted for nearly 500 yards of offense and iced the game with a clinical clock-killing drive after the Bucs had closed within a field goal with less than five minutes to play. Mahomes is rightly praised for his next level arm talent, but he's also an expert scrambler with untouchable football IQ. He is the perfect quarterback.
