The Athletic -- Rank: 17
Meeting expectations: You could make the case that Jon Gruden is exceeding expectations, but at the end of the day the Raiders are 6-5 with a minus-27 point differential. Aside from last week's clunker, Gruden has done an excellent job as a play-caller and offensive schemer. He'd benefit from being more aggressive with his in-game decisions, given how much better the Raiders' offense is than its defense. If the Raiders can avoid a repeat of last year's final stretch and sneak into the postseason, Gruden will deserve a ton of credit. But failing to make the playoffs will have to be considered a disappointment.

What happened in Atlanta? Derek Carr and the offense both struggled in a big way. They can't afford to lose games like that.
USA Today -- Rank: 18
Natural to assume Sunday brings a get-right game against Jets, but Silver and Black haven't beaten Gang Green on road since 1996.

After Sunday's unmitigated disaster in Atlanta -- a 43-6 blowout loss to a three-win Falcons team -- the Raiders fell to 6-5 and head east again to face the winless Jets, who upended them last year with a 34-3 beatdown. Lose at MetLife to a sorry Jets team again and the Raiders' season, for all intents and purposes, is over. Handle business, and Las Vegas remains in the playoff hunt. The Raiders changed the way a lot of people looked at them on Sunday -- unfortunately, not in a good way. Jon Gruden's team was humbled and embarrassed in a 43-6 loss to the Falcons, delivering an effort that summoned memories of last season's December collapse. This was a nightmare performance for Derek Carr, who lost three fumbles on sacks and threw a pick-six. Josh Jacobs looked slow and tentative on an injured hip before leaving the game with a sprained ankle. (Jacobs, fittingly, lost a fumble on the play he went down.) Vegas was also undisciplined, committing a season-high 11 penalties for 141 yards. It was a disaster from pretty much every angle, bad enough that even a Week 13 matchup against the winless Jets brings some level of doubt.
