The following are picks in recent mock drafts for the Bears:
EDSFootball - Kevin Hanson (1/15)
20. Rashod Bateman, WR, Minnesota
Speaking about his options in free agency, receiver
Allen Robinson recently said that "
everything is pretty much on the table." Although he's not the most explosive receiver in this year's draft class, Bateman is a polished and productive receiver that would provide a boost to the passing attack, especially if the team is unable to re-sign ARob.
San Diego Union Tribune - Eddie Brown (1/13)
20. Alijah Vera-Tucker, IOL, USC
The pick is a wide receiver if Allen Robinson leaves during free agency. Otherwise, the offensive line needs upgraded. Vera-Tucker was one of the best offensive tackles in the country, but could also shine on the interior in the NFL.
CBS Sports - Chris Trapasso (1/13)
20. Alijah Vera-Tucker, IOL, USC
The Bears have to find a new quarterback for 2021, but this isn't the place to do it. Instead, they build their offensive front with the athletic and versatile Vera-Tucker.
The Athletic - Dane Brugler (1/12)
20. Teven Jenkins, OT, Oklahoma State
There is an obvious need at quarterback in Chicago, but the demand outweighs the supply, especially with several other teams needing quarterbacks drafting in this range. The Bears also need to invest in their offensive line and Jenkins has experience at left tackle, right tackle and guard.
The Draft Network - Joe Marino (1/7)
20. DeVonta Smith, WR, Alabama
The Bears have some tricky decisions ahead of them, but one thing is clear: the offense has to become more consistent. Alabama's all-time leading receiver, Smith is the model of consistency in terms of route-running, catching the football, and producing on a weekly basis. He isn't the biggest receiver or the most explosive, but he is extremely polished and would give Chicago a reliable weapon.
ESPN - Todd McShay (1/7)
20. Elijah Moore, WR, Mississippi
Well,
Mitchell Trubisky might be playing his way back onto the Bears' 2021 roster -- and with four quarterbacks off the board already here, there wouldn't be too many options if Chicago chose to go that route. I'll be watching to see what Chicago does in free agency at QB or if the Bears attempt to trade up at all. Regardless, the Bears need weapons to get this offense closer to the talented defense's level. Worse, Allen Robinson is a pending free agent. Moore could be an excellent pick here, bringing speed and an ability to work the middle of the field. He trailed only DeVonta Smith in catches and receiving yardage this season.
USA Today - Michael Middlehurst-Schwartz (1/5)
20. Jalen Mayfield, OT, Michigan
Rather than look for a Mitchell Trubisky replacement, the playoff-bound Bears now appear more inclined to provide the offense with a steady blocker, which might point them toward Mayfield.
Athlon Sports - Bryan Fisher (1/5)
20. Walker Little, OT, Stanford
Yes they likely need a new young QB, but won't pick high enough to land one. If they give it a go with
Nick Foles in 2021, they'll need to protect him much better and could swap Little in for either of their two tackles that could be cap casualties this offseason.
