The following are picks in recent mock drafts for the Cowboys:
NFL.com - Zierlein (2/4)
10. Penei Sewell, OT, Oregon
Tyron Smith turned 30 in December and hasn't played 14 or more games in a season since 2015. Sewell could give the Cowboys flexibility up front, playing either right tackle or guard until it's time to take over on the left edge for the seven-time Pro Bowler.

10. Caleb Farley, CB, Virginia Tech
Given the Cowboys' defensive woes in 2020, an offseason emphasis on adding playmakers in the secondary results in Farley coming off the board at this spot.

Choosing between a defensive tackle like Alabama's Christian Barmore and a cornerback like Farley will come down to a philosophical team building conversation. Do you build from the inside out or from the outside in? Do you disrupt the passer or cover receivers. This is a question the Cowboys will likely have to come to terms with in the lead up to the draft.

10. Caleb Farley, CB, Virginia Tech
Farley is a perfect fit for the Cover 3--heavy defense that Dan Quinn is going to run in Dallas in 2021, combining speed, length, and receiver-like ball skills. Pairing the Hokies star with
Trevon Diggs could give the Cowboys a playmaking cornerback duo as their defensive foundation―and help that unit bounce back from a rough performance last year.

10. Caleb Farley, CB, Virginia Tech
They began reloading the position last year, following
Byron Jones' departure, by drafting Trevon Diggs. With
Chidobe Awuzie and
Jourdan Lewis potentially out the door in a few months, good chance Dallas continues upgrading on the corner with the 6-2, 207-pound all-Atlantic Coast Conference performer, who skipped the 2020 season due to the pandemic.
ESPN - Kiper (1/26)
10. Rashawn Slater, OT, Northwestern
Heading into the 2020 season, the Cowboys' offensive line looked solid on paper, and that was after center
Travis Frederick retired in March. But then injuries hit: Right tackle
La'el Collins missed every game; left tackle Tyron Smith played just two; and guard
Zack Martin missed six. And what you saw was a poor Cowboys offense, even before quarterback
Dak Prescott was lost for the season with an ankle injury. That's why I think Slater fits in Dallas, where he could play either tackle spot or move inside to guard. Todd McShay thinks Slater could excel at center, too. He was another prospect who opted out, but he didn't allow a single sack playing left tackle in 2019. This is a spot to watch for
Patrick Surtain II as well because Chidobe Awuzie could leave in free agency.
NFL.com - Jeremiah (1/22)
10. Patrick Surtain II, CB, Alabama
The Cowboys still need to upgrade the secondary. Surtain will reunite with former Alabama teammate Trevon Diggs to give Dallas a promising young tandem at cornerback.
Baltimore Sun - Doon (1/22)
10. Caleb Farley, CB, Virginia Tech
Rookie cornerback Trevon Diggs was the lone bright spot for Dallas' defense, which fell to 23rd in DVOA. Pairing Diggs with Farley, who put together a dominant season in 2019 before opting out in 2020, would shore up a secondary that needs more talent.
