Las Vegas Raiders Week 12 NFL Power Rankings Roundup

Throughout the 2021 NFL season, we will compile a consensus NFL Power Rankings that averages the rankings of all 32 NFL teams.

Most memorable Thanksgiving game: Raiders defeat defending AFL champion Chiefs 44-22 on Nov. 23, 1967

The Raiders have played only seven times on Thanksgiving. They have a 3-4 record and are riding a three-game losing streak on Turkey Day. But on Nov. 23, 1967, the Raiders blew out the Chiefs in Kansas City, a sixth straight victory en route to the AFL Championship Game. Willie Brown and Warren Powers each picked off Len Dawson twice, both had a pick-six and Daryle Lamonica hit Fred Biletnikoff, who had six catches for 158 yards, for a touchdown. The Raiders eventually fell to the Packers in Super Bowl II to end that season. -- Paul Gutierrez

They've done it again. After sucking in fans with a strong start to the season, the Raiders are in a spiral that continued with Sunday's dispiriting 32-13 loss to the Bengals at Allegiant Stadium. The three-game slide can be traced back to an offense that hasn't been the same since returning from the Week 8 bye. Vegas was 1-for-7 on third-down conversions and managed just 278 total yards against a Cincinnati defense that had been hemorrhaging yards and points in recent weeks. The absence of Henry Ruggs III is impossible to overlook, but the struggles extend beyond one player. A Thanksgiving matchup against the Cowboys has a make-or-break feel to it for the Silver and Black. Said Derek Carr after Sunday's loss: "No one's coming to save us, so we better figure it out."

They just don't look like the same team we saw a month ago. Three straight losses can do that to a team as they scramble to try and right things.

For a team that should switch things up, we'd suggest running more ... but this offensive line doesn't allow for much.

The Athletic -- Rank: 20

Best side dish: So, the 19 passing targets for tight end Darren Waller in Week 1 was never a sustainable share of the Raiders' offense, but it certainly set a tone for how Las Vegas wanted its passing game to operate. Through 11 weeks, Waller leads the Raiders in targets and yards (though receiver Hunter Renfrow has five more catches, 56 to Waller's 51). Against the Bengals, Waller had his first 100-yard receiving game since the opening week, with 116 yards on seven catches. We're not saying Waller always needs nearly 20 targets a game, but he's the toughest player on the Raiders' roster for opponents to cover.
