QUARTERBACKS
Player | Att. | Comp. | Yards | TD | INT | Rush | Yards | TD | Points |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Trevor Lawrence | 573.1 | 384 | 4155 | 26.65 | 9.46 | 62.9 | 283.1 | 3.15 | 301.09 |
C.J. Beathard | 36.6 | 22 | 252.5 | 1.28 | 0.99 | 5.9 | 15.9 | 0.06 | 15.19 |
Trevor Lawrence: What a difference a year (and a new coaching staff) made for Lawrence! The 2021 NFL Draft's top overall pick completed 66.3% of his pass attempts for 7.0 yards per attempt, while throwing 25 touchdowns and only seven interceptions in 2022. (That compares to 59.6%, 6.0 Y/A and 12:17 TD-INT ratio in 2021.) In fact, Lawrence improved considerably as the season progressed — 69.7% completion rate, 7.4 Y/A and a 15-to-two TD-INT ratio from Weeks 9-18. Bigger things could/should be in store for Lawrence in 2023, as Calvin Ridley joins Christian Kirk, coming off career numbers (84/1108/8 in 2022), Evan Engram, and Travis Etienne.
RUNNING BACKS
Player | Att. | Yards | TD | Rec. | Yards | TD | Points |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Travis Etienne | 192.7 | 876.8 | 4.53 | 48.3 | 398.9 | 2.1 | 191.5 |
Tank Bigsby | 106.8 | 464.6 | 2.67 | 11.6 | 83.7 | 0.5 | 79.65 |
JaMycal Hasty | 21 | 88.2 | 0.55 | 10.8 | 81.5 | 0.5 | 28.67 |
D'Ernest Johnson | 12.6 | 56.1 | 0.3 | 9.7 | 74.9 | 0.4 | 22.15 |
Travis Etienne: A Lisfranc injury delayed his NFL debut by a year, but Etienne finished as fantasy's RB17 (half-PPR scoring) in 2022 with 220 carries for 1,125 yards and five touchdowns and 35 catches for 316 yards. Earlier this offseason, Demetrius Harvey of The Florida Times-Union wrote that Tank Bigsby, the team's third-round pick, could even "out-touch [Etienne] in some games depending on who has the hot hand." More recently, Doug Pederson praised Etienne's development as a runner while discussing a scenario where "maybe he's pushing 1,600, 1,700 yards as a rusher."
WIDE RECEIVERS
Player | Rec. | Yards | TD | Rush | Yards | TD | Points |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Calvin Ridley | 83.2 | 1040.2 | 6.5 | 2.5 | 12.5 | 0.11 | 186.53 |
Christian Kirk | 76.5 | 905.7 | 5.7 | 4.2 | 28.6 | 0.21 | 167.14 |
Zay Jones | 59.1 | 672.1 | 4.3 | 2.1 | 10.5 | 0.08 | 124.09 |
Jamal Agnew | 16 | 174.1 | 1.2 | 6.7 | 50.3 | 0.2 | 38.84 |
Parker Washington | 12.2 | 143.2 | 0.9 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 25.82 |
Tim Jones | 2.4 | 28.6 | 0.3 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 5.86 |
Calvin Ridley: Ridley broke out in 2020 with 90 catches for 1,374 yards and nine touchdowns as he finished as fantasy's WR4 (half-PPR scoring). Since then, he served a year-long suspension in 2022 after posting career lows in yards per reception (9.1), yards per target (5.4) and catch rate (59.6%) while appearing in only five games in 2021. Ridley gets a chance to rebound with an ascending quarterback and offense. Although I have been higher on him than most throughout the offseason, his ADP has continually climbed to point where he's moving into the fairly valued (as opposed to undervalued) range.
Christian Kirk: Kirk set career highs across the board — 133 targets, 84 receptions, 1,108 yards and eight touchdowns — in his first season with the Jaguars. It will be difficult for Kirk to duplicate last season's 23.2% target share with Calvin Ridley returning from suspension.
Zay Jones: Trailing only Kirk in receiving, Jones posted a career season (82/823/5 on 121 targets) in 2022 as he finished as fantasy's WR26 in half-PPR scoring. The presence of Ridley as the WR1 pushes Jones down the pecking order for targets, but the offense overall should be even better than it was in 2022.
TIGHT ENDS
Player | Rec. | Yards | TD | Rush | Yards | TD | Points |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Evan Engram | 58.9 | 621.5 | 4.1 | 1.7 | 11.1 | 0.05 | 117.61 |
Brenton Strange | 12.8 | 136.6 | 1 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 26.06 |
Luke Farrell | 4.5 | 46.3 | 0.4 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 9.28 |
Evan Engram: The Jaguars designated Engram with the franchise tag, but the two sides reached agreement on a three-year extension. While Engram missed 14 games in his first three seasons (2017-19), he has missed only two games over the past three years. He posted career highs in receptions (73), yards (766) and catch rate (74.5%) in 2022.
