Chicago Bears Week 4 NFL Power Rankings Roundup

Throughout the 2023 NFL season, we will compile a consensus NFL Power Rankings that averages the rankings of all 32 NFL teams.

Below you will find a Week 4 roundup for the Chicago Bears in our consensus 2023 NFL Power Rankings.

ESPN -- Rank: 32

Biggest issue on offense: The entire operation

There is plenty of blame to go around with the Bears' offense, which is performing worse than it did a year ago. Some receivers aren't running routes the correct way, which has led to spacing issues that affect the timing of when throws should be delivered. Chicago's playcalling has put Justin Fields in situations to make plays from the pocket often, and the quarterback's struggles there are magnified during a stretch when the Bears have been outscored 106-47 in their first three losses. Since the start of the 2022 season, Fields has the worst QBR (25) and yards per dropback (4.6) from inside the pocket among QBs with at least 200 passes in that time. -- Courtney Cronin

NFL.com -- Rank: 32

There have been better weeks in franchise history. Justin Fields seemed to throw the coaching staff under the bus before clarifying that he wasn't blaming anything on the coaches, and then he struggled to get loose again in Sunday's 31-point loss. The defense, now run by head coach Matt Eberflus after Alan Williams resigned, was even worse. The good news is that in Week 4 the Bears face another 0-3 team, one that lost by a bigger margin on Sunday. But if the Bears fall to the Broncos this Sunday, it will be hard to blame fans if they want to start thinking about going into hibernation until draft season.

CBS Sports -- Rank: 32

This team is a disaster right now with all the stuff going on. Justin Fields has regressed, and the rest of the group hasn't helped him.

USA Today -- Rank: 32

QB Justin Fields is 0-3 for the first time in his NFL career. Chicago's been outscored by a league-most 59 points and outgained by 472 yards. But they host Denver on Sunday with the chance to prove they're not the worst team in the league.

The Athletic -- Rank: 31

QB confidence rating: 1

Justin Fields played the whole game and didn't throw for 100 yards. He had 99 yards through the air on 22 attempts and 47 yards on the ground on a team-high 11 carries. It's not all Fields' fault that Chicago has lost 13 consecutive games, but the fact is he's 5-23 as a starter and his passer rating (66.7) ranks 31st in the league.

FOX -- Rank: 32

The defense is bad, the offense is worse, and it's hard to imagine how it gets better. There's a lot of season left, but it took the Bears a shockingly short amount of time to veer off into the ditch. Unless there's some drastic improvement, it's easy to imagine them landing the No. 1 overall pick in back-to-back drafts.

Yahoo! -- Rank: 32

It's shocking how quickly the Bears not only became the NFL's worst team this season, but by a large margin. Being down 41-0 to the Chiefs was embarrassing. Matt Eberflus is 3-17 as Bears head coach and the only things that would save his job for the rest of the season would be an unexpected winning streak or the Bears' weird fascination with the fact they've never fired a coach during a season.

PFT -- Rank: 32

Is there anyone Kevin Warren won't be firing?
