Los Angeles Rams Week 9 NFL Power Rankings Roundup

Throughout the 2023 NFL season, we will compile a consensus NFL Power Rankings that averages the rankings of all 32 NFL teams.

Below you will find a Week 9 roundup for the Los Angeles Rams in our consensus 2023 NFL Power Rankings.

ESPN -- Rank: 19

Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford has a completion percentage of 59.7%, which ranks 30th in the NFL ahead of Zach Wilson (58.3%) and Jordan Love (57.7%). It is his worst completion percentage through Week 8 since his rookie season in 2009. Stafford has kept the 3-5 Rams in games, but he injured his thumb in Sunday's loss to the Cowboys. Stafford has an ulnar collateral ligament sprain in his right thumb and is day-to-day, coach Sean McVay said Monday. -- Sarah Barshop

Things have soured, and now, after QB Matthew Stafford's thumb injury, a potentially winnable Week 9 matchup against the struggling Packers looks dicey. Even though it worked, It's hard to justify Sean McVay calling a two-point throw to Stafford in Sunday's loss to Dallas after his QB had already twice been hit on his (surgically repaired) right thumb. We saw the drop-off when Brett Rypien came in, as he couldn't get much going. L.A. is on bye after the Green Bay trip, and if you're a Rams fan, you're praying for a healthy Stafford and Kyren Williams when they host surging Seattle in Week 11. With the team at 3-5, the season is perilously tilting in the wrong direction.

CBS Sports -- Rank: 20

For the first time this season, they got blown out as the Cowboys beat them up Sunday. The defense had a rough day.

USA Today -- Rank: 16

Congratulations on the baby, Coach. Now let's get Jordan John McVay back to .500.

The Athletic -- Rank: 18

Something scary (for them): Turning back into a pumpkin

After a surprisingly OK start, the Rams have lost three of their last four, beating only the Cardinals in that span. Matthew Stafford left Sunday's game with a thumb injury, and if he's out for very long, Los Angeles is in real trouble. Leading rusher Kyren Williams has already gone on injured reserve and won't be eligible to return until at least Week 12.

FOX -- Rank: 20

They've lost five games on the year, but Week 8 felt like the first time the Rams truly got their butts kicked. Granted, the offensive line was shorthanded against a fierce Dallas pass rush — but that's going to happen in the NFL. Hopefully, Matthew Stafford's injuries don't hamper this offense, because it's been a fun watch for most of the year.

Yahoo! -- Rank: 22

Matthew Stafford has a sprained UCL in his right thumb. He's day-to-day and is a tough player who has played through pain and injuries before, but the Rams have a bye after this week. It would make a lot of sense to sit Stafford on Sunday against the Packers.

PFT -- Rank: 24

Matthew Stafford held it together as long as he possibly could.
