The first cornerback didn't come off the board until No. 22 overall this year, but Burke is part of a very intriguing class that looks like one of 2025's strongest groups. Silky smooth in coverage, Burke just needs to show more ball-hawking skills, turning just two of his 26 career pass breakups into interceptions.
Surprisingly, Keon Coleman (Round 2) was the only WR addition at the draft for a Bills team that lost Stefon Diggs (trade) and Gabe Davis (free agency), so maybe Buffalo will look back to the position at next year's draft. Bond transferred to Texas from Alabama, joining a Longhorns offense down Xavier Worthy, Adonai Mitchell and Ja'Tavion Sanders. That means big opportunity. He can flat-out fly, but he's still very raw at the position despite 48 catches for 668 yards and four touchdowns last season with the Crimson Tide. If Bond learns to trust his hands more -- he tends to trap the ball against his body at times -- he could be in for a huge season.
The Bills released All-Pro corner Tre'Davious White, and Rasul Douglas will become a free agent after this season. The Washington transfer lacks prototypical size (5-10, 183), but he makes up for it with his tenacity, instincts and toughness. Muhammad produced 17 passes defensed (third in FBS), three interceptions and two sacks for the Huskies in 2023.
A tall, lanky pass rusher, Payton finished second on the team in pressures last season, behind only Jared Verse. He needs to continue adding mass to his frame, but his speed and flexibility help him capture the corner.
Buffalo takes a swing on a cornerback with Ohio State's Denzel Burke. He earned a career-high 81.7 coverage grade in 2023. He plays well in both man and zone coverage and adds solid talent to the Bills' cornerback room after they spent this offseason searching for help at safety.
James Cook will enter the final year of his contract in 2025, and the Buffalo Bills want to stay balanced on offense. We usually don't see Round 1 running backs, but Ollie Gordon could be the exception. He rushed for more than 1,700 yards in 2023 and was named a first-team All-American. With another strong season, he could end up being a Round 1 selection.
The 6-4, 260-pound transfer from Purdue can beat offensive linemen in a variety of ways, though his calling card is a spin move that bewilders blockers. Buffalo looks due for a little more juice from its pass rush, especially with Von Miller in the twilight of his career.
