Deshaun Watson: Appearing in only six games over the past two seasons, Watson started slowly (under 13 fantasy points in three of his first four games) but closed 2022 with two solid performances — 21.9 (weekly QB8) and 19.6 (QB6), respectively. Given his dual-threat skill set, he has upside for a quarterback being drafted as a back-end QB1.

Nick Chubb: Chubb has a career average of 5.2 yards per carry, but he has also yet to average fewer than 5.0 YPC in any of his first five NFL seasons. The talented back carried the ball 302 times last season for 1,525 yards and 12 touchdowns, all of which set or tied career highs. While he's averaged only 1.6 receptions per game over his career, his passing-game role may (or should) expand with Kareem Hunt no longer on the roster.

Jerome Ford: While Kareem Hunt had a disappointing 2022 season, we've seen how productive a second back could be for the Browns in previous seasons. Ford may not get the same workload previously given to Hunt, but he immediately becomes fantasy-relevant as Chubb's handcuff and complementary back, at a minimum.

Amari Cooper: Cooper finished his first season as a Brown with 78 receptions for 1,160 yards and a career-high nine touchdowns. Finishing the year as fantasy's WR9 (half-PPR scoring), Cooper had six top-12 weeks, but he also finished outside the top 50 wide receivers six times. It was the sixth 1,000-yard season of Cooper's eight-year career. In theory, a full season with Deshaun Watson under center should be good for Cooper's 2023 fantasy outlook, but there is also increased competition for targets.

Elijah Moore: Before an injury ended his rookie season prematurely, Moore had 34 catches for 459 yards and five touchdowns over his final six games in 2021. (Moore was so good during that span that only Justin Jefferson had more fantasy points over that stretch.) When he was on the field in 2022, however, things didn't go nearly as well, but he'll get an opportunity to reset with the Browns in 2023.

Donovan Peoples-Jones: DPJ played a full 17-game season, and he shattered previous career highs in targets (96), receptions (61) and yards (839). Unforuntately, it could be difficult to improve upon those numbers with increased competition around him.

David Njoku: Njoku missed three games in 2022, but it was otherwise a career year for the athletic tight end. He averaged 4.1 receptions and 44.9 yards per game, both of which were career highs. Njoku finished ninth in half-PPR points per game in 2022.

Amari Cooper: Cooper finished his first season as a Browns with 78 receptions for 1,160 yards and a career-high nine touchdowns. Finishing the year as fantasy's WR9 (half-PPR scoring), Cooper had six top-12 weeks, but he also finished outside the top 50 wide receivers six times. Jacoby Brissett: Deshaun Watson's 11-game suspension makes Brissett the starter for the majority of the 2022 season. In his two seasons as a full-time starter (2017 and 2019), he finished as fantasy's QB20 and QB23, respectively. He's a low-upside option when he starts and he'll lose his starting gig during the fantasy playoffs, which makes him only a consideration in 2-QB formats.

Deshaun Watson: Suspended for the first 11 games of the season, Watson is eligible to return in Week 13 against his former team (Houston Texans). Especially for those in 2-QB formats, Watson would provide a significant boost for the fantasy playoffs. While he also did not play a snap in 2021, Watson has finished as fantasy's QB4, QB4 and QB5 in his three NFL seasons as a full-time starter. In other words, he will be a top-10 option (or better) in fantasy from Week 13 on.

Nick Chubb: One of the league's best pure runners, Chubb has yet to finish with fewer than 996 rushing yards, eight rushing touchdowns or 5.0 yards per carry in a season. Even though he's missed a total of seven games over the past two seasons combined, Chubb has finished his four seasons as fantasy's RB16, RB7, RB9 and RB11, respectively, in half-PPR scoring.

Kareem Hunt: Entering the final year of his contract, Hunt had requested a trade but the Browns have rejected that request. No team has a more talented duo on their roster than Chubb and Hunt, who was the NFL's rushing champion in 2017 as a rookie with Kansas City. Given his versatile skill set, Hunt provides stand-alone flex value when Chubb is active and RB1 upside when/if Chubb misses time.

Amari Cooper: No longer in Dallas, Cooper won't face the same kind of target competition in Cleveland as he's clearly the team's No. 1 receiver in 2022. That said, there is plenty of risk to the passing offense in general with Deshaun Watson suspended for 11 games. Cooper has five 1,000-yard campaigns in seven seasons.

David Njoku: Njoku finished 2021 with 36 catches for 475 yards and four touchdowns. The only Browns with more receptions last season -- Jarvis Landry (52) and Austin Hooper (38) -- are no longer on the roster, although the team traded for Amari Cooper. I expect Njoku to finish second on the team in receiving across the board, behind only Cooper.

Cleveland Browns Week 6 NFL Power Rankings Roundup

Throughout the 2021 NFL season, we will compile a consensus NFL Power Rankings that averages the rankings of all 32 NFL teams.

Here is where the Cleveland Browns rank in terms of average, best and worst:

ESPN -- Rank: 9

Most improved player: TE David Njoku

How they've improved: Though it came in a losing effort, Njoku continued his strong start to this season and delivered a career performance Sunday against the Chargers. He finished with a team-high 161 receiving yards on seven receptions, including a career-high 71-yard touchdown catch in which he shed a defender before racing into the end zone. Njoku, a first-round pick in 2017, has had trouble finding his place in Cleveland. At one point, he even asked for a trade. But as Cleveland's leading receiver through five games, Njoku might finally be hitting his stride. -- Jake Trotter

In wins over the Bears and Vikings, the Browns authored two of the most dominant defensive performances we've seen by any team all season. On Sunday, Cleveland's D entered The Twilight Zone. Kevin Stefanski's team surrendered 493 total yards -- and 26 points in the fourth quarter alone -- in a 47-42 insta-classic loss to the Chargers. Disappointing outcome aside, the Browns' beat-up defense should recover, while a huge bounce-back performance from Baker Mayfield and the offense offered promise of better days. If these Browns can put both sides of their game plan together, they'll be tough to stop.

The defense, which was supposed to be much improved, is not. They have to be better on that side of the ball.

USA Today -- Rank: 8

In his four NFL seasons, QB Baker Mayfield has been on the losing side three times despite Cleveland scoring at least 42 points -- including Sunday's 47-42 barnburner against the Chargers. No other quarterback in league history has suffered such a defeat multiple times.

The Athletic -- Rank: 9

Breakout player: Well, sometimes we miss on draft prospects. Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah sometimes got stuck on blocks and disappeared against top teams at Notre Dame, but it turns out maybe offenses weren't worried about anyone else. On the Browns, the rookie linebacker has been flying around and making plays at the line of scrimmage and down the field. He has 21 tackles, three pass break-ups and a forced fumble. He also seems to be OK after leaving Sunday's game with a throat contusion.

Baker Mayfield: Making major improvements over his 2019 campaign, Mayfield set a career high in passer rating (95.9) and a career low in INT% (1.6%). Outside of a four-game stretch near the end of the season (Weeks 12-15), however, Mayfield's efficiency didn't translate into a usable level of fantasy production.

Mayfield performed as a QB1 (top 12) in all four of those weeks (Weeks 12-15), but he had only one other top-12 weekly finish throughout the rest of the season (Week 7). Over the full season, he finished as fantasy's QB17. Leading a run-first playoff-caliber team likely means another season of modest passing volume that translates into mid-tier QB2-level fantasy production.

Nick Chubb: Despite missing four games, Chubb still finished as fantasy's RB9 in 2020. Chubb has finished second and third in rushing yards per game in 2019 and 2020, respectively. Through his first three seasons, Chubb has never averaged fewer than five yards per carry in a season.

Even with the league's best No. 2 back (Kareem Hunt) on the roster, Chubb has averaged 18.05 touches per game since Hunt returned from his 2019 suspension. Only four teams in the league had a higher rushing play percentage than the Browns in Kevin Stefanski's first year as head coach.

Kareem Hunt: While Chubb (RB9) was a top-10 fantasy running back in 2020, so was Hunt (RB10). Outside of Week 16, Hunt had double-digit touches in all of his other 15 games. Playing in one of the league's most run-heavy offenses, there is enough to go around for both Chubb and Hunt to be top-30 backs.

Odell Beckham: OBJ has now missed at least four games in three of the past four seasons. Since becoming a Brown, Beckham has averaged 4.6 and 3.3 receptions per game in 2019 and 2020, respectively, both of which are the lowest per-game averages of his career. In addition, Beckham's per-game averages of 4.2/58.9/0.3 as a Brown are significantly lower compared to his per-game averages as a Giant (6.6/92.8/0.75).

Jarvis Landry: While he has typically exceeded his preseason expectations, Landry finished 2020 as fantasy's WR36, identical to his final 2020 half-PPR ADP (via Fantasy Football Calculator). Landry set career lows in targets (101) and receptions (72) last season and his yards from scrimmage (850) and total touchdowns (four) were either the lowest or second-lowest of his career. Given that those numbers were mostly without Odell Beckham Jr. (torn ACL), it's unlikely that Landry outperforms last year's modest numbers (by much) in Cleveland's run-first offense.

Donovan Peoples-Jones: People-Jones' has generated plenty of buzz over the past month. The Athletic's Zac Jackson writes that even if DPG is "not ready for an instant breakout in 2021, he's absolutely lighting up training camp." Peoples-Jones may be the team's third-best receiver, but it's questionable whether their run-first approach can really support two fantasy-viable receivers.

Rashard Higgins: Higgins' 2020 averages of 46.1 yards per game, 11.5 yards per target and 16.2 yards per reception all set career highs. That said, Cleveland's run-heavy offense can barely support two fantasy-relevant wide receivers, let alone three (or four), so Higgins will be off the fantasy radar in standard-sized leagues without an injury to OBJ and/or Landry.

Austin Hooper: The team's overall passing volume is modest, but Cleveland's offense is TE-friendly with 27.74% of 2020 targets going to the position. Hooper, who has now missed three games in back-to-back seasons, underwhelmed in his first season in Cleveland as he averaged a career-low 6.2 Y/TGT and 33.5 YPG, a three-year low. With Odell Beckham sidelined (torn ACL), Hooper was more productive down the stretch -- 25/211/3 on 40 targets over his final five games including the playoffs. While OBJ will be back, coach Kevin Stefanski has talked about how Cleveland is "going to grow his role" in the offense in 2021.

Rashard Higgins: Higgins' 2020 averages of 46.1 yards per game, 11.5 yards per target and 16.2 yards per reception all set career highs. That said, Cleveland's run-heavy offense can barely support two fantasy-relevant wide receivers, let alone three, so Higgins will be off the fantasy radar in standard-sized leagues without an injury to OBJ and/or Landry.

Odell Beckham: While Beckham should be ready for the start of the 2021 season, he tore his ACL in Week 7 last year and has now missed at least four games in three of the past four seasons. Since becoming a Brown, Beckham has averaged 4.6 and 3.3 receptions per game in 2019 and 2020, respectively, both of which are the lowest per-game averages of his career. In addition, Beckham's per-game averages of 4.2/58.9/0.3 as a Brown are significantly lower compared to his per-game averages as a Giant (6.6/92.8/0.75).

Rashard Higgins: Higgins' 2020 averages of 46.1 yards per game, 11.5 yards per target and 16.2 yards per reception all set career highs. Austin Hooper: While the team's overall passing volume is modest, Cleveland's passing offense is TE-friendly with 27.74% of 2020 targets going to the position.

Hooper, who has now missed three games in back-to-back seasons, underwhelmed in his first season in Cleveland. Hooper's 33.5 YPG and 9.5 Y/R were the second-lowest outside of his rookie season. Although Odell Beckham was sidelined with a torn ACL, Hooper was more productive down the stretch -- 25/211/3 on 40 targets over his final five games including the playoffs.
