Jalen Hurts: In the same year that Saquon Barkley rushed for over 2,000 yards, Hurts set a career low as a full-time starter in pass attempts per game (24.1). In fact, that was a drop of 7.5 per game from his 2023 average (31.6). He finished 2024 throwing for only 2,903 yards, 18 touchdowns and five interceptions.

Even with Barkley's rushing greatness last season, Hurts extended streaks of 150-plus carries (to three seasons), 600-plus rushing yards (four) and double-digit rushing scores (four). Over the past four years, Hurts has compiled 611/2,779/52 rushing in 62 games, equivalent to 9.51 fantasy points per game from rushing stats alone. In addition, only two players (both running backs) — Derrick Henry (51) and Josh Jacobs (42) — come within 10 rushing touchdowns of Hurts (52) during that span, per Stathead. (Josh Allen is tied for fourth (40) with Joe Mixon and Jonathan Taylor.)

San Francisco 49ers 2025 Fantasy Football Projections

Brock Purdy: Purdy had a down year in 2024 but still finished as the QB10 on a points-per-game basis (18.6). Compared to career rates (in parenthesis), Purdy's 65.9% completion rate (67.5%), 4.4 TD% (6.0%), and 8.5 Y/A (8.9) were all lower in 2024. Yes, Deebo Samuel now plays for the Washington Commanders and Brandon Aiyuk, Jauan Jennings and nearly every other top receiver not named Ricky Pearsall seem to have injury designations (or a suspension), but Purdy is a value when comparing my projections/rankings to his current ADP.

J.J. McCarthy: With one of the league's best offensive instructures in place, McCarthy should hit the ground running (maybe literally, too) in his debut season after missing 2024 with a torn meniscus. Kevin O'Connell had Sam Darnold playing at an MVP-caliber level for much of the year, and the team has a good offensive line with a talented group of weapons (Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, Adam Thielen, T.J. Hockenson, etc.). Given his plus athleticism and environment, there is plenty of upside for a season similar to Bo Nix's rookie campaign (ADP of QB20+ with a top-10 finish).

Josh Allen: Putting aside the debate over who should have won the NFL MVP award last season, it's clear that both Allen and Lamar Jackson had MVP-caliber seasons, especially as voters split their votes for MVP and the 2024 AP NFL All-Pro first team. Going into fantasy drafts this summer, Allen vs. Jackson will be the difficult (or easy) choice facing fantasy managers — and to be clear, the "easy" part is that you can't go wrong with either.

Allen posted five-year lows in several passing categories — attempts (483), yards (3,731) and touchdowns (28) — but his dual-threat skill set is what makes him so dangerous. Allen now has (at least) 12 rushing touchdowns in back-to-back seasons and 500-plus rushing yards in four consecutive seasons. He has finished as a top-two fantasy quarterback for five consecutive seasons.

Carolina Panthers 2025 Fantasy Football Projections

Bryce Young: Young was benched after a terrible start through the first two weeks last season (only 225 passing yards, 4.01 Y/A, no touchdowns and three interceptions). He didn't start again until Week 8, but he played much better, especially over the final three games (64.8%, 7.0 Y/A, seven touchdowns and no interceptions). After Carolina's Week 11 bye, Young was the QB8 in fantasy PPG (21.2) through the end of the season.

Caleb Williams: Williams benefits from the trifecta of improvements in offensive coaching, protection and weapons. After completely revamping their interior offensive line in free agency, the Bears also used their first three draft picks on the offense — tight end Colston Loveland, wide receiver Luther Burden III, and offensive tackle Ozzy Trapilo. Williams is one of my favorite QB2 targets with upside when I don't draft a top-four option.

Lamar Jackson: What a year it was Jackson, who posted career highs in passing yards (4,172) and touchdowns (41) while leading the NFL in TD% (8.6%), yards per attempt (8.8) and passer rating (119.6)! It was the second time in his career that he has finished as fantasy's QB1. He posted a 9% TD% in his other overall QB1 season (2019), and then followed that up with a 6.9% rate in 2020. His career average is 6.4%. Long story short, he was absolutely phenomenal in 2024, but last year's ratios would be unsustainable for any quarterback including Jackson (even though he could repeat as fantasy's QB1). Although he has a max of five rushing touchdowns over the past four seasons, Jackson is the NFL's all-time leader in quarterback rushing yards, averaging a whopping 1,019 yards per 17 games over his career.

Arizona Cardinals 2025 Fantasy Football Projections

Kyler Murray: While fantasy managers were hoping for more from Murray in 2024, his final numbers were still solid albeit not spectacular. Murray threw multiple touchdowns in only four games, but he had another four multi-score games when including rushing touchdowns. Even with more weekly inconsistency than you may like, Murray has upside as a back-end QB1, especially if Marvin Harrison Jr. and their connection take a step forward in year two.

Sam Darnold: How close will the 2025 version of Darnold be to his breakout season last year? That's the obvious question, especially considering last year's environment (coaching and supporting cast) was about as ideal for a quarterback as possible. On a positive note, the former top-three pick is still only 28 years old despite entering his eighth NFL season. Darnold threw for 4,319 passing yards, 35 touchdowns and 12 interceptions last season and finished as fantasy's QB9. It's definitely possible that the fantasy community (myself included) is discounting him too much in 2025.

Miami Dolphins 2025 Fantasy Football Projections

Tua Tagovailoa: Appearing in more than 13 games only once during his five NFL seasons, the obvious concern with Tagovailoa (in real life and fantasy) is his troubling history of concussions. Over the past three seasons, however, Tagovailoa has led the NFL in at least one different passing category — completion percentage (72.9%) in 2024, passing yards (4.624) in 2023, and TD% (6.3) and Y/A (8.9) in 2022. There's a chance he performs as a back-end QB1 if — a big if — his health cooperates, but his lack of rushing (75/193/0 since 2022) limits the upside even if he plays a full season. For example, the same year (2023) he played 17 games and led the NFL in passing yards, he finished as the QB9 in overall points (QB17 on a PPG basis).

Drake Maye: Could Maye breakout in 2025? There are plenty of positive signs. The Patriots bolstered their pass protection and pass-catching weapons via free agency and the NFL draft including Stefon Diggs, LSU's Will Campbell (Round 1), Ohio State's TreVeyon Henderson (Round 2), and Washington State's Kyle Williams (Round 3). Considering his rushing ability, Maye's floor is high even if the Patriots adopt a run-heavy approach under Mike Vrabel, but the improvement in offensive firepower gives him more upside as a passer in year two.

2025 Fantasy Football Mock Drafts

The best way to become good at something is to practice. So, what should you do if you want to draft a better fantasy football team?

Practice, of course!

Leading up to the start of the 2025 NFL season, we will use the fantasy football mock draft simulator to complete fantasy football mock drafts. And we will do so using a variety of scoring formats — point per reception (PPR), half-PPR, standard scoring and even 2-QB leagues — and league sizes. The goal is to provide you with a good representation of the team that you may be able to draft given your league settings while also providing the rationale of why we made the picks we did.

That said, nothing beats practicing yourself so (check out the simulator) and complete a mock in a matter of minutes.

2025 Fantasy Football Mock Draft: 12-Team Super Flex Half-PPR Mock (4th Pick)

Starting positions: 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 Super Flex (QB/RB/WR/TE), 1 K, 1 DST; Bench spots: 6

1.04 - Jalen Hurts, QB, Philadelphia Eagles

There are a clear elite four (fantasy) quarterbacks in two mini tiers — Josh Allen with Lamar Jackson, then Jayden Daniels with Jalen Hurts. With Allen, Jackson and Daniels taken 1-2-3 in this Super Flex mock, it made sense to take Hurts here. Even though Joe Burrow went 1.05, I would have taken Ja'Marr Chase in that slot if I were picking one spot later. With a 2,000-yard season from Saquon Barkley, it's not surprising that Hurts set a career low as a full-time starter in pass attempts per game (24.1). The passing numbers were down, but Hurts' elite rushing production continued. He extended streaks of 150-plus carries (to three seasons), 600-plus rushing yards (four) and double-digit rushing scores (four). Over the past four years, Hurts has compiled 611/2,779/52 rushing in 62 games, equivalent to 9.51 fantasy points per game from rushing stats alone.

2.09 - Malik Nabers, WR, New York Giants

Perhaps Jaxson Dart will provide a real long-term upgrade, but New York's 2025 quarterback situation is both below average and yet also an upgrade over what they had last year. Despite missing a couple of games and the state of the team's quarterback play, Nabers finished his rookie campaign as fantasy's WR7. With a league-high 10 games with double-digit targets and more targets than all receivers not named Ja'Marr Chase, Nabers never finished with fewer than four catches, seven targets or 41 yards in any game in 2024.

3.04 - De'Von Achane, RB, Miami Dolphins

Achane's year-over-year carries nearly doubled (103 to 203), but the yardage total increased by only 107 yards from 2023. The rushing efficiency dropped even more than most had expected (from his unsustainable rookie levels), but his receiving role was elite as he paced the position with 78 receptions for 592 yards and six touchdowns.

4.09 - Tee Higgins, WR, Cincinnati Bengals

While he would be a WR1 elsewhere, Higgins will continue to benefit from being the 1B to Ja'Marr Chase. While he has missed exactly five games in back-to-back seasons, Higgins finished second (behind Chase) among all wide receivers in fantasy points per game in 2024.

2025 Fantasy Football Mock Draft: 12-Team Non-PPR Mock (7th Pick)

Starting positions: 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 Flex (RB/WR/TE), 1 K, 1 DST; Bench spots: 6

1.07 - Derrick Henry, RB, Baltimore Ravens

Father Time may be undefeated, but Henry carried the ball 325 times for 1,921 yards, the second-best (by far) of his career, and a league-high 16 touchdowns in his age-30 season. In addition, he averaged a career-best 5.9 YPC — a half-yard more than his previous high. Yes, his receiving volume was (and will continue to be) low, but Lamar Jackson limits opposing defenses from being able to stack the box to slow him down. Repeating his 2024 numbers may be unlikely (although he has some extra motivation for 2,000 rushing yards).

2.06 - Jonathan Taylor, RB, Indianapolis Colts

Like with Henry, a concern with Taylor is the lack of receiving volume, especially with Anthony Richardson (or Daniel Jones) under center. Taylor, who missed Weeks 5-7, had only 12/59/1 receiving on 21 targets over the final 10 games of the season. But his rushing numbers over that span were elite — 231 carries for 1,082 yards, both of which were second to only Saquon Barkley, and seven touchdowns. One additional concern with Taylor is that he has missed at least three games in three consecutive seasons.

3.07 - Tee Higgins, WR, Cincinnati Bengals

While he would be a WR1 elsewhere, Higgins will continue to benefit from being the 1B to Ja'Marr Chase. While he has missed exactly five games in back-to-back seasons, Higgins finished fourth (behind Chase, Justin Jefferson and Chris Godwin) among all wide receivers in fantasy points per game (non-PPR) in 2024.

4.06 - Davante Adams, WR, Los Angeles Rams

Adams, who was traded midseason from the Raiders to the Jets, still managed to extend his streak of 1,000-yard, eight-TD seasons to five. Even though he turns 33 on Christmas Eve and won't dominate targets the way he had at previous stops, he should have (or come close to having) another 1,000/8 season.

Philadelphia Eagles 2024 NFL power rankings post-draft roundup

Throughout the 2024 NFL season, we will compile a consensus NFL Power Rankings that averages the rankings of all 32 NFL teams.

Below you will find a post-NFL draft roundup for the Philadelphia Eagles in our consensus 2024 NFL Power Rankings.

ESPN -- Rank: 5

Most improved: Secondary

The Eagles signed C.J. Gardner-Johnson in free agency to bolster the safety spot and then used their first two picks in April's draft on defensive backs Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean. All told, they could have three new starters in the defensive backfield this season. Philadelphia finished 31st in passing touchdowns allowed last season with 35. With corners Darius Slay and James Bradberry both north of 30 years old, the Eagles needed to address the corner position for the short and long term, and they accomplished that this offseason. -- Tim McManus

NFL.com -- Rank: 5

One of the more surprising developments of Round 1 was Philadelphia getting its pick of the cornerback litter without needing to trade up. GM Howie Roseman has inherited a reputation for being aggressive for good reason, and he showed that side in the brilliant Day 2 trade-up for Cooper DeJean. Knowing when to go bold and when to hold back is a drafting art, and Roseman appears to get this as well as anyone. The Eagles' first two picks were a clear demonstration of that. And, for good measure, they also took their usual approach to the remainder of the proceedings, mixing in a couple of interesting, unusual project picks (edge Jalyx Hunt and WR Johnny Wilson) with some rock-solid selections (RB Will Shipley, LB Jeremiah Trotter Jr., OG Trevor Keegan) to round out a typically impressive draft haul.

CBS Sports -- Rank: 10

They had a nice draft, adding two much-needed secondary players, and the Super Bowl hangover is a thing of the past. The pressure is on for a bounce-back season for this group.

USA Today -- Rank: 6

New RB Saquon Barkley, provided he remains healthy, will be this squad's main delta in 2024. But getting DBs Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean with its first two draft picks should remedy what truly ailed Philly during 2023's late-season collapse ... though relative inactivity from the reigning NFC East champion Cowboys sure doesn't appear to hurt.

The Athletic -- Rank: 11

After grabbing two of the top corners early in the draft, Philadelphia added some potential high-reward players in Round 3 and later. Edge rusher Jalyx Hunt out of Houston Christian (6-4, 252 pounds) is a perfect example. Hunt started his career as an Ivy League safety, but he had the fifth-longest arms of any edge rusher in this class and is an explosive athlete who could turn into a steal.

Fox Sports -- Rank: 2

Clearly, last season's collapse left a sour taste in Howie Roseman's mouth. The Eagles general manager has pulled every lever this offseason. The Birds added Saquon Barkley to an already-amazing offense, and they replenished the defensive depth chart with signings like Bryce Huff and C.J. Gardner-Johnson, not to mention big-time draft picks Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean. No excuses in Philly if Jalen Hurts & Co. can't improve on last year's lousy finish.

Way-too-early Philadelphia Eagles 2025 NFL mock draft roundup

Throughout the year and leading up to the 2025 NFL Draft, we will update our Philadelphia Eagles Mock Draft Roundup showing picks for the Philadelphia Eagles from several prominent sites and draft analysts.

The following are picks in recent mock drafts for the Eagles:

Fox Sports - Rob Rang (5/3)

24. Collin Oliver, LB, Oklahoma State

Whether off the edge or in more of a traditional linebacker role, Oliver is a proven playmaker, registering an eye-popping 38.5 tackles for loss and 21.5 sacks among his 130 career tackles. At 6-foot-2 and 225 pounds, Oliver won't be a fit for everyone — just those willing to prioritize big plays over prototypical size.

ESPN - Jordan Reid (5/2)

25. Dani Dennis-Sutton, EDGE, Penn State

The Eagles are always looking to add pass-rushers. Dennis-Sutton's draft stock is still very much a projection, but he has all the tools to make a major leap in 2024. At 6-5 and 258 pounds, he generated 24 pressures, 8 tackles for loss and 2 forced fumbles in 2023 despite starting only three games.

San Diego Union-Tribune - Eddie Brown (5/2)

25. Emery Jones Jr., OT, LSU

The Eagles recently signed former Jets first-rounder Mekhi Becton to a one-year deal, but reportedly plan on transitioning him to guard, meaning GM Howie Roseman still needs a succession plan for All-Pro tackle Lane Johnson. Notre Dame, Washington and Penn State all had two offensive tackles taken in the top 100 picks this year. The Tigers could have both of their tackles selected in the first round next April.

The Athletic - Dane Brugler (4/30)

25. Emery Jones Jr., OT, LSU

In this past draft class, there were three teams (Notre Dame, Penn State, Washington) that had two offensive tackles selected in the top 100. LSU has a chance to see both of its OTs drafted in the first round next April.

PFF - Max Chadwick (4/29)

26. Evan Stewart, WR, Oregon

Stewart battled through injuries at Texas A&M last season, but he has a chance to have a huge season at Oregon. The former top-10 recruit earned a 73.7 receiving grade as a sophomore. He is a terrific route runner and, when healthy, has shown an ability to make tacklers miss. The Eagles take a chance on a potentially dynamic weapon to fill out their receiver room.

The 33rd Team - Marcus Mosher (4/29)

28. Jonah Savaiinaea, OT, Arizona

The Philadelphia Eagles need to find a future replacement for Lane Johnson, who will turn 34 in May. One option could be Jonah Savaiinaea, the starting right tackle for Arizona last season. He has experience playing guard, and his size (6-foot-5, 330 pounds) suggests that might be his best spot in the NFL. But he should be an early-round selection next year with his strong hands and powerful base.

USA Today - Michael Middlehurst-Schwartz (4/28)

23. Jonah Savaiinaea, OT, Arizona

At some point, Howie Roseman is going to want to make a big move to bring aboard Lane Johnson's successor at right tackle. While eventual first-round offensive tackle Jordan Morgan seized the spotlight on Arizona's front last season, Savaiinaea could flourish under famed offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland.

CBS Sports - Ryan Wilson (4/28)

24. Wyatt Milum, OT, West Virginia

Milum is an athletic tackle who plays with good technique as both a run and pass blocker, and he has the potential to take his game to another level with a strong 2024 season.

Philadelphia Eagles 2024 NFL Draft Grades Roundup

The 2024 NFL Draft is now in the rearview mirror, and we have compiled a consensus ranking using NFL draft grades from a variety of sites.

What draft grades have the media given to the Philadelphia Eagles? What are they saying about the Eagles' 2024 draft haul?

NFL.com - Grade: A-

Day 1 grade: A
Day 2 grade: B+
Day 3 grade: A

Analysis: Don't forget about the Eagles when identifying 2024 NFC title contenders, especially after this draft. Getting Mitchell to help the cornerback room without having to trade up was a major win. They moved up for DeJean like Detroit did for Brian Branch last year; I suspect he'll have a similar impact as a rookie. Hunt's potential on the edge was worth the third-round pick. The grade reflects the trade of this year's third-round pick for cornerback Kelee Ringo last year; the result is still uncertain.

General manager Howie Roseman traded several times Saturday, flipping the script on last year's Ringo deal by getting 2025 third- and fifth-round selections. All-purpose back Shipley and receiver Smith will likely play on special teams and the offense as rookies. My favorite pick of the day was Roseman trading for Trotter, a fine player and legacy pick for the Eagles. McMahon could start at center this year if Cam Jurgens does not, and Keegan was a great pick late to add youth to the guard depth chart.

ESPN - Grade: A

Top needs entering the draft: Cornerback, wide receiver, offensive line

There's no question the Eagles were one of the league's most disappointing teams in 2023, as they went from Super Bowl LVII to coach Nick Sirianni being on the hot seat following a blowout loss to the Bucs in the wild-card round, all in the span of a year. This is an important draft for Sirianni and GM Howie Roseman, who saw their defense collapse late in the season. They made some solid signings in free agency to help that unit, but I thought they had to go with a cornerback in Round 1 to add an injection of youth to their secondary, even if it meant trading up.

How about one in Round 2, as well? Roseman landed both of my top-ranked corners in Cooper DeJean (40) and Quinyon Mitchell (22), though DeJean has the versatility to play safety too. As I wrote Friday night, the Eagles crushed Day 2, also getting my favorite outside linebacker in the class in Jalyx Hunt (94). All three will help a defense that ranked 30th in points allowed per game (25.2).

The fun didn't stop there for Roseman, as he made a whopping eight trades over the weekend, the most of any team since 1990. Among those deals were collecting 2025 third-, fourth- and fifth-round selections (one of each), setting up Philadelphia for success in next year's draft. As for the Day 3 picks he actually used, running back Will Shipley (127) is an interesting one. He put up 1,200 all-purpose yards in each of the past three seasons. Could he carve out a spot as the third-down back? Linebacker Jeremiah Trotter Jr. (155) is a value in my rankings; I have him at No. 108 overall -- and, of course, his dad is an Eagles legend. I'm also intrigued by 6-foot-6 wideout Johnny Wilson (185), who dropped too many passes but who has size that can't be taught.

Because of everything Roseman acquired in next year's draft and because of the talent he accumulated this weekend, I feel great about making this class an A.

The Ringer - Grade: A+

THE EAGLES CAME INTO THE DRAFT WITH MASSIVE QUESTION MARKS AT CORNERBACK, THEN CAME OUT OF THE WEEKEND WITH TWO OF MY TOP-RANKED PLAYERS AT THE POSITION. Philly somehow managed to land Toledo cornerback Quinyon Mitchell (my no. 12 player) at 22nd overall before turning around in the second round and trading up to nab Iowa defensive back Cooper DeJean (my no. 17 player) at 40th overall. Not shabby! Philly GM Howie Roseman did his typical thing, moving up and down the board to position the team to draft the guys they wanted (making eight trades in all, adding third, fourth, and fifth-rounders in 2025 along the way). In the end, the Eagles picked nine times—finishing with a haul that includes two very intriguing receivers in Texas A&M's Ainias Smith and Florida State's Johnny Wilson. I'll be watching those two pass-catchers closely; Smith is a diminutive and versatile slot receiver who brings return value, while Wilson is a jumbo-sized receiver who has the talent and tools to eventually emerge as the team's no. 3 option behind A.J. Brown and Devonta Smith.

USA Today - Grade: A

They got, arguably, the draft's best defensive back (Toledo first-rounder Quinyon Mitchell). They got, arguably, the draft's most athletic and versatile defensive back (Iowa second-rounder Cooper DeJean). Third-rounder pass rusher Jalyx Hunt is an intriguing project, and fourth-round Clemson RB Will Shipley could maximize the plays Saquon Barkley takes off. Michigan G Trevor Keegan and Florida State WR Johnny Wilson are high-ceiling Day 3 picks, and fifth-round Clemson LB Jeremiah Trotter Jr. puts the cherry on top with the sentimental homecoming factor ... at a position that's seemingly been unsettled since dad left.

Fox Sports - Grade: A-

Eagles GM Howie Roseman is a wizard. After trying to trade up in the first round for a CB, the top one — Toledo's Quinyon Mitchell — fell right to him at 22. Then he got another corner with a first-round grade by trading up for Iowa's Cooper DeJean in Round 2. That alone would've made it a great weekend for Philly, but Roseman added to it with a Day 3 deal to bring LB Jeremiah Trotter Jr. to his father's old franchise. Their one curious move was taking Houston Christian edge rusher Jalyx Hunt in the third, but the Eagles can afford a high-ceiling project like that. Oh, and all of Roseman's trades got them some 2025 draft capital, too. —Vacchiano

CBS Sports - Grade: B+

Best Pick: Rather than panicking and trading up, they stayed put and landed the top cover corner in the draft in Quinyon Mitchell in the first round. It was a gamble that paid off.

Worst Pick: Third-round edge Jalyx Hunt has some explosive ability, but he probably went a little higher than I would have taken him. He will take some time. But the Eagles clearly know he is a developmental player.

The Skinny: General manager Howie Roseman usually likes to trade up on draft night, but he refrained from that in the first round and it worked by landing Mitchell. He did trade up in the second to land corner-safety Cooper DeJean. In fact, he made eight trades enhancing his reputation as the trader GM. The best thing is a team problem in coverage last year likely got fixed with the first two picks.

Sporting News - Grade: A

Analysis: GM Howie Roseman somehow ended up with arguably the two best corners in the class to fill a big need. Hunt can tap into his big small-school pass-rush upside for Vic Fangio. Shipley, Smith, and Wilson are valuable, versatile cogs for Jalen Hurts to support Saquon Barkley, the expensive wideouts, and tight ends.

SI - Grade: A

Analysis: Similar in complexion to the Lions draft, this was a targeted rebuild as well as a big swing in the third round to take a former safety-turned-edge rusher who could end up being one of those draft gems. Cooper DeJean is going to shine in the zone-heavy Vic Fangio scheme, and the Eagles, in a division with the pick-prone Dak Prescott and Daniel Jones, plus a rookie in Jayden Daniels, are suddenly a daunting opponent.

Touchdown Wire - Grade: A

Darius Slay is still a good player, but he turned 33 on New Year's Day. James Bradberry led the NFL with 10 touchdowns allowed in coverage. Guess where the Eagles went with the top of their draft? Yup. Quinyon Mitchell wasn't just my favorite cornerback in this draft class; he was my favorite defensive player. His athletic, hyper-aggressive playing style brings Slay at his peak to mind.

And while I'm not sure how defensive coordinator Vic Fangio will deploy Cooper DeJean, he's an ideal Fangio DB with his quickness and recognition skills, and he could have a similar effect on this defense that 2023 rookie Brian Branch did for the Lions. Jalyx Hunt, who Fangio reportedly pounded the table for, is a hyper-athletic pass rusher with a lot of upside, added to a group in need of youth and athleticism.

But the third-day steal might be the most interesting. Florida State's Johnny Wilson has resisted the thought that he should move to tight end, because there aren't a lot of 6'6⅜', 231-pound receivers out there. OC Kellen Moore could use Wilson's attributes credibly in some move TE situations (just don't tell him), and Wilson can also scald cornerbacks downfield with some speed.

Philadelphia Eagles Week 10 NFL Power Rankings Roundup

ESPN -- Rank: 1

Non-QB MVP: WR A.J. Brown

Brown has been one of the league's most impactful players over the first half. He made history by becoming the first to go for 125-plus receiving yards in six consecutive games. He also set a new team mark for quickest player to 1,000 yards receiving (nine games). "He's on an unbelievable historic tear right now," said offensive coordinator Brian Johnson, "and it's a testament to him, who he is as a person, to how serious he is about perfecting his craft and making the most of his opportunities." -- Tim McManus

NFL.com -- Rank: 1

Philadelphia remains the class of the NFC -- and, for now, the league. Sunday's nail-biter win might have paved the road to the No. 1 seed in the conference and the bye that comes with it, but it also highlighted the luck factor. Dak Prescott sliced up the Eagles' embattled secondary. Luke Schoonmaker's fourth-down catch in the fourth quarter was inches from being a touchdown. Dallas scored on the subsequent drive, but Prescott's foot was out of bounds by about the same distance on a two-point conversion attempt. Philly fumbled three times and recovered the ball each time, including when D'Andre Swift coughed it up with a minute left. It felt like Dallas outplayed the Eagles over the course of 60 minutes, but Philly finished more effectively than the Cowboys -- an area where the Eagles have been better than Dallas all season. Perhaps that intangible skill is the their superpower.

CBS Sports -- Rank: 1

They beat the Cowboys, but they have to be concerned about their defense. It's having issues stopping teams. Jalen Hurts is also limited by his knee injury.

USA Today -- Rank: 2

The league's only 8-1 team, and the first to replicate such a start in consecutive seasons since Peyton Manning's Indianapolis heyday in 2006. But with gimpy QB Jalen Hurts still dragging his leg around, the bye week has arrived at a perfect time — not to mention Philly has Kansas City, Buffalo, San Francisco, Dallas and Seattle in succession on the other side of the break. Though perhaps no worry, Hurts matching Manning's mark (2008-10) with 12 consecutive regular-season wins against opponents with winning records.

The Athletic -- Rank: 2

Report card: A

Philadelphia fans are not going to be happy falling a spot after a win over the Cowboys. That's fair, but the Eagles were outgained 406-292 by Dallas on Sunday, and there are a couple of areas of concern to monitor. The Eagles have averaged fewer than 100 rushing yards in their last four games (86.8), and they are 20th in the NFL in yards per play allowed (5.3). Big picture though, they are 24-5 dating to 2022 and have established themselves as the clear favorite in the NFC.

FOX -- Rank: 1

It's always different, it's always stressful, but the Eagles win — wash, rinse, repeat. The box score isn't going to indicate the Eagles defense played particularly well against Dallas, but the way they consistently turned the Cowboys away from the end zone was impressive. The versatility and adaptability of this team are what stands out to me more than anything else going on in the NFL right now.

Josh Sweat is having a great season for the Eagles. He has had at least a half-sack in six of Philadelphia's nine games. His 6.5 sacks are second on the Eagles behind Haason Reddick at 7.5. He had 11 sacks last season and is better this season. Sweat's sack on Dak Prescott in the final 30 seconds Sunday was a massive play in a huge win. Sweat was a fourth-round draft pick in 2018 and has been an absolute steal.

Philadelphia Eagles Week 9 NFL Power Rankings Roundup

Jalen Hurts is coming off arguably his best performance of the season in which he completed 76.3% of his throws and tossed four touchdown passes to push the Eagles past the Washington Commanders. It hasn't been the smoothest of rides to this point -- he is playing through left knee pain and has thrown eight interceptions already on the year after being picked off just six times last season. But he has made a number of dazzling plays and tends to come up big in crucial moments, guiding the Eagles to the best record in football. -- Tim McManus

If Tyreek Hill is an MVP candidate in Miami, then A.J. Brown absolutely should be in that discussion, too. Brown has been on a six-week tear, logging 125-plus receiving yards in every game over that span, adding another two TDs in Sunday's heroic performance. The Eagles don't beat the Commanders without the greatness of Brown and Jalen Hurts, both of whom were in peak form. It was once again a rough day in the red zone (Philly went 3-for-5, but lost two fumbles inside the 5-yard line), which has been a lingering issue, and the defense really had few answers for Sam Howell. The Eagles won in spite of those factors. Of course, expecting to do the same in Week 9's massive showdown with the Cowboys would be foolish.

It wasn't always pretty against the Commanders, but they got it done in the second half. Now they face a big one with Dallas this week.

USA Today -- Rank: 1

The NFL's only seven-win team will arguably take its biggest test to date Sunday when division rival Dallas comes calling to Lincoln Financial Field. Defensively, Philly has some issues, surviving a 31-point barrage from Washington for the second time this season. Offensively, you'd like to see QB Jalen Hurts quit dragging his leg around ... but at least the Eagles are developing offshoots of the "Tush Push" that spare him. With his record six consecutive games with 125+ receiving yards, WR A.J. Brown is on pace for 1,995 yards.

The Athletic -- Rank: 1

Something scary (for others): A.J. Brown

The 6-foot-1, 226-pound wide receiver/cyborg is playing at a historic level. He had eight catches for 130 yards Sunday against Washington and now has topped 125 receiving yards in six consecutive games, becoming the first NFL player in history to do that. He is second in the league in receiving yards (939) behind only Tyreek Hill.

FOX -- Rank: 1

You never know exactly how they're going to do it, or how stressful it's going to be, but you can count on the Eagles to finish the job. In a league where 31 teams have multiple losses, the Eagles have found a way to win often than anyone else. Like we keep saying, they have still yet to play their best game — but that hasn't exactly mattered to this point. They're the most consistent team in an inconsistent league, and now another statement opportunity presents itself with the Cowboys coming to town.

Giving up 472 yards to the Commanders isn't what the Eagles wanted with the Cowboys coming to town for a massive NFC East game on Sunday. The Eagles' defense hadn't allowed more than 250 yards in a game for three straight before that, so let's assume letting the Commanders go up and down the field was the outlier.
