Here are some of the latest mock drafts in which Williams has appeared:
#1 overall, Chicago Bears
Caleb Williams didn't have to work out at the USC pro day to be the No. 1 overall pick, but he did so anyway and checked all the boxes in front of the Bears brass. Caleb to Chicago is a foregone conclusion at this point.

This is starting to feel close to locked in. Taking Williams to dinner was just the first step, but also bringing him to Halas Hall for a visit is sort of the "meet the parents" phase of draft dating. They're getting serious, folks. At this point, hearing anyone else's name but Williams' in this spot would be a surprise to me and a lot of other folks.

No change here, as it feels like Williams to the Bears is all but a lock. For a team that owns the first pick, the Bears have done a surprisingly good job setting their rookie quarterback up for early success. In addition to signing running back D'Andre Swift and tight end Gerald Everett in free agency, the team traded a fourth-round pick for veteran pass catcher Keenan Allen, giving Williams a trio of experienced playmakers who can help take some of the pressure off in year one.

There's still plenty of time before Commissioner Roger Goodell officially puts the Bears on the clock for the first pick, but this pairing feels like a fait accompli.

It's becoming obvious that Caleb Williams is the pick for the Bears. They have had a nice offseason, and if he's the real deal, watch out for this team.

The Bears trading Justin Fields to Pittsburgh cements their selection of a quarterback at No. 1 overall. Williams is not only the best one in this class, but also the best of the past decade. A talented creator under center, he accounted for 120 touchdowns in his three-year college career (93 passing, 27 rushing) to just 14 interceptions. The Bears have built a fantastic supporting cast, allowing Williams the chance to see instant success. He'll be a Week 1 starter and could have a C.J. Stroud-like impact here.

Williams has rare talent and playmaking ability, and the trade of Justin Fields to Pittsburgh clears the road for him to come to Chicago. With a supporting cast of Keenan Allen, Cole Kmet, DJ Moore, D'Andre Swift and Gerald Everett, Williams is set up for speedy development as a pro and quick success. The sacks (83 over three college seasons) and fumbles (16) are concerning, but I believe Williams' fundamentals in the pocket (climbing instead of escaping backward) will improve. He averaged over 9 yards per pass attempt in each of his three college seasons (one at Oklahoma) and threw 93 TD passes.

It sure feels like we can almost take out the pen for this projection. Any angst about Williams declining the Bears' warm embrace faded at the NFL combine. Trading away Justin Fields soon followed, and repeating last year's draft haul trade feels further away every day. This tight blurb reflects such thinking.
