2-QB 12-Team Fantasy Football Mock Draft

The best way to become good at something is to practice. So, what should you do if you want to draft a better fantasy football team?

Practice, of course!

Leading up to the start of the 2020 NFL season, we will use the 2020 Fantasy Football Mock Draft Simulator (powered by FantasyPros) to complete fantasy football mock drafts.

We will use a variety of scoring formats -- PPR, half-PPR, standard scoring and even 2-QB leagues, league sizes and draft slots. The goal is to give you a good representation of the team that you may be able to construct given your league settings and the rationale of why we made the picks we did.

+ Our mocks will be tracked here: Fantasy Football Mock Drafts.

That said, nothing beats practicing yourself so (check out the simulator) and complete a mock in a matter of minutes.

Without further ado, here are the picks of our 12-team 2-QB 2020 fantasy football mock draft using half-PPR scoring with the first pick:

1.01 - Christian McCaffrey, RB, Carolina Panthers

Almost never coming off the field, McCaffrey joined Roger Craig (1985) and Marshall Faulk (1999) as one of only three backs to record 1,000/1,000 seasons in NFL history. The do-it-all back led the league in touches (403), yards from scrimmage (2,392) and touchdowns (19). The gap between him and the RB2 (Aaron Jones) was 122.9 fantasy points (half-PPR), or larger than the gap (122.2) between Jones (RB2) and Devonta Freeman (RB21). Another season of 400-plus touches seems unlikely, but his prolific work in the passing game gives him as high of a floor and ceiling as any back in the league.

2.12 - Deshaun Watson, QB, Houston Texans

Not only was he dominant in his partial (six starts) rookie season, but Watson finished as a top-four fantasy quarterback in both of his full seasons (2018 and 2019). The loss of DeAndre Hopkins in addition to the durability concerns of Will Fuller IV and Brandin Cooks poses a threat to his ability to yield another top-four campaign for his fantasy owners in 2020.

3.01 - Chris Godwin, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

With DeSean Jackson departing in free agency, Godwin (more than) delivered on the breakout that was expected of him. Despite missing two games, he shattered previous career highs with 86 catches for 1,333 yards and nine touchdowns to finish as fantasy's WR2.

4.12 - Calvin Ridley, WR, Atlanta Falcons

Ridley posted per-game career highs in targets (7.2), receptions (4.8) and yards (66.6) in 2019, although his season was cut short (Week 14) by an abdominal injury. Through Week 14, Ridley was a top-15 receiver across the board -- WR13 in half-PPR, WR14 in full PPR and WR10 in non-PPR. With a lack of depth behind starters, Ridley is poised for a big season as long as his health cooperates.

5.01 - Tyler Lockett, WR, Seattle Seahawks

While the Seahawks rank near the bottom of the league in pass attempts every year, Lockett is one of the most efficient receivers in the NFL and saw a significant uptick in target share (21.3% in 2019 vs. 16.4% in 2018) with the retirement of Doug Baldwin. Despite playing through injury in the middle of the season, Lockett set career highs in targets (110), receptions (82) and yards (1,057) in 2019. The 5'10" receiver led the NFL in red-zone targets (23) in 2019.

6.12 - Mark Ingram, RB, Baltimore Ravens

Despite being second on his own team in rushing (behind Lamar Jackson), Ingram still performed as an RB1 in all scoring formats in 2019. Ingram eclipsed the 1,000-yard rushing mark, averaged 5.0 yards per carry and scored a total of 15 touchdowns for the league's highest-scoring offense. Ingram's grip on the lead-back role is weakened some by the team drafting a talented back (J.K. Dobbins), but the veteran back remains a viable RB2 in 2020.

7.01 - Ben Roethlisberger, QB, Pittsburgh Steelers

Missing virtually all of 2019, Roethlisberger is a QB2 that should produce QB1-type numbers on a per-game basis. GM Kevin Colbert improved the supporting cast around him by adding Eric Ebron in free agency and Chase Claypool through the draft.

8.12 - Jamison Crowder, WR, New York Jets

Crowder led the Jets in targets (122), receptions (78), yards (833) and touchdowns (six) last season. With Robby Anderson and Demaryius Thomas no longer on the roster, Crowder could be even better in 2020 if Sam Darnold can stay healthy. The slot receiver's ADP has been steadily rising in August.

9.01 - James White, RB, New England Patriots

Perennially undervalued in fantasy drafts, it was White, not Sony Michel, that has led the Patriots running backs in fantasy scoring in both of Michel's first two seasons. One of the league's best pass-catching backs, White has more than 70 catches in back-to-back seasons and that trend should continue in 2020.

10.12 - Zack Moss, RB, Buffalo Bills

Frank Gore had nearly 180 touches -- 166 carries and 13 receptions -- and it would be reasonable to expect Moss to approach -- or even exceed -- those numbers as a rookie. A tackle-breaking machine at Utah, Moss is a physical 223-pound runner that had three 1,000-yard seasons in Salt Lake City.

11.01 - Tyler Higbee, TE, Los Angeles Rams

Dominant as it gets in December, Higbee had a 43/522/2 (12.14 Y/R) receiving line on 56 targets over the final five games of the season. Higbee's late-season breakout was aided by an injury to Gerald Everett, who played just four offensive snaps in that stretch, but he's easily a top-10 option heading into 2020.

12.12 - Marlon Mack, RB, Indianapolis Colts

Posting his first-ever 1,000-yard rushing season on a career-high 247 carries, Mack also set a career low in receptions (14) and targets (17). Entering the final year of his rookie deal, Mack will cede more work to rookie Jonathan Taylor as the season progresses.

13.01 - Mike Gesicki, TE, Miami Dolphins

Gesicki is athletic freak -- 4.54 forty and 41.5" vertical -- at tight end and he had a breakout second season, aided by additional opportunities with the season-ending injury to UDFA receiver Preston Williams. Gesicki had five-plus targets in all eight games without Williams but only five-plus in just three of eight with him. More big slot than tight end, Gesicki finished his sophomore campaign as fantasy's TE11. Especially considering the team's WR3/WR4 are sitting 2020 out, Gesicki has the potential to take another significant step forward in year three.

14.12 - Tua Tagovailoa, QB, Miami Dolphins

While a redshirt season may make sense given his injury history, head coach Brian Flores has said that there will be a competition at quarterback and hasn't ruled out Tagovailoa from starting as early as Week 1. Given the lack of preseason games, however, it would make sense for Fitzpatrick to be (at least) the early-season starter.

15.01 - Chase Edmonds, RB, Arizona Cardinals

Edmonds played 60 snaps (94%) against the Giants in Week 8 and exploded for 150 YFS and three touchdowns on 29 touches. Missing all of November and playing only 15 offensive snaps in December, the third-year back out of Fordham enters 2020 as Kenyan Drake's primary handcuff.

16.12 - Los Angeles Rams DST

17.01 - Wil Lutz, K, New Orleans Saints
