2018 Fantasy Football PPR Mock Draft: 12 Teams, 11th Pick

As the saying goes, practice makes perfect. While we may not be able to draft a "perfect" fantasy football team, the more we practice, the better our teams will be.

Starting on July 7th, we began drafting (at least) one fantasy football team per day using the 2018 Fantasy Football Mock Draft Simulator and we will continue to do so up until the start of the 2018 NFL season.

Each day, we will switch things up -- e.g., PPR vs. standard scoring, league size, draft slot, 2-QB leagues, auction leagues, etc.

In addition, we will centralize links to our daily fantasy football mock drafts for an easy way to keep track of our mock drafts.

Details of today's mock draft:
  • Scoring: Point-per-reception (PPR) scoring
  • # of Teams: 12
  • Draft Slot: 11
  • Starters: QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, TE, Flex (RB/WR/TE), K, DST
  • Bench Size: 6

With that said, here are the results of today's mock draft:

1.11 - Julio Jones, WR, Atlanta Falcons: With 1,400-plus yards in each of the past four seasons, Jones has a total of 6,317 receiving yards during that four-year span. Only Antonio Brown (6,349) has more and both have more than 1,200 yards more than DeAndre Hopkins (5,063, third). Only Brown has more catches than Jones over that span.

2.02 - Dalvin Cook, RB, Minnesota Vikings: Before having his rookie season cut short by a torn ACL, the Florida State product carried the ball 74 times for 354 yards (4.78 YPC) and two touchdowns with 11 catches for 90 yards. Cook was on a 16-game pace of 1,776 yards from scrimmage, 44 catches and eight touchdowns. If he's able to stay healthy, Cook has top-five upside in what should be a run-heavy offense.

3.11 - Demaryius Thomas, WR, Denver Broncos: Thomas is coming off his worst season (83/949/5) since breaking out in 2012. Signing Case Keenum may not return Thomas to the days of 90/1,400/10 numbers he posted from 2012 to 2014 in the Peyton Manning days, but a bounce-back campaign to the tune of 90 catches and 1,200 yards seems reasonable with steadier quarterback play.

4.02 - Kenyan Drake, RB, Miami Dolphins: Over the final five games of the 2017 season, Drake ran for a league-high 444 yards on 91 carries (4.88 YPC) with two touchdowns and added 17 receptions for 150 yards. That workload (21.6 touches per game) may not carry over, but he should be a productive RB2.

5.11 - Corey Davis, WR, Tennessee Titans: The fifth-overall pick in last year's draft, Davis has the tools to become a true No. 1 receiver in the league. Injuries slowed him down in his rookie campaign as he finished with a 34/375/0 (regular-season) line. Healthy and impressing during offseason workouts, Davis has the potential for a breakout 2018 season.

6.02 - Alex Collins, RB, Baltimore Ravens: Collins had double-digit carries in the final 12 games of the season, but he didn't get his first reception until Week 8. From Week 8 to 17, the second-year back had the eighth-most fantasy points among running backs.

7.11 - Drew Brees, QB, New Orleans Saints: After throwing more than 625 pass attempts in each of the previous seven seasons, Brees threw it only 536 times for 4,334 yards and 23 touchdowns, both of which were lows of his 12 seasons in New Orleans. Even so, his 4,334 passing yards still ranked fourth in the NFL behind Tom Brady (4,577), Philip Rivers (4,515) and Matthew Stafford (4,446).

8.02 - Lamar Miller, RB, Houston Texans: Miller has two 1,000-yard seasons since 2014, but he was even less efficient in 2017 (career-low 3.7 YPC) than he was in 2016 (4.0). The Texans have one of the league's worst offensive lines (actually the worst if you go by PFF rankings) and the line won't be markedly better in 2018, but there is profit potential as an eighth-round pick.

9.11 - Jack Doyle, TE, Indianapolis Colts: Doyle finished second on the team in targets (108) last season and posted career highs with 80 catches and 690 yards last season. Even though the Colts signed Eric Ebron, the return of Andrew Luck bodes well for the offense overall.

10.02 - Rishard Matthews, WR, Tennessee Titans: After hauling in 945 yards and nine touchdowns in his first season with the Titans, Matthews posted a 53/795/4 season in 2017. While he will (or should) take a back seat to Davis, Matthews has the potential for another top-40 season.

11.11 - Giovani Bernard, RB, Cincinnati Bengals: Joe Mixon missed some time, Bernard had 507 YFS, averaged 4.75 YPC with 24 receptions and two scores in five December games. Especially in PPR formats like this, Gio offers late-round value as a back that could return flex value.

12.02 - David Njoku, TE, Cleveland Browns: Playing less than half of the team's offensive snaps as a rookie, Njoku posted a 32/386/4 stat line in 2017. Coach Hue Jackson says that he expects a big jump from Njoku in Year 2.

13.11 - Latavius Murray, RB, Minnesota Vikings: A top-20 fantasy back for three years in a row, Murray will need an injury to Dalvin Cook to extend that streak to four seasons. But he does have stand-alone value in the 13th round and provides some insurance as a handcuff as well.

14.02 - Tyler Lockett, WR, Seattle Seahawks: Lockett played a full 16-game slate last season, but he was never 100 percent. With Paul Richardson in Washington (D.C.) and the uncertainty of what the Seahawks will get from Brandon Marshall, Lockett has breakout potential in 2018.

15.11 - Carolina Panthers D/ST

16.02 - Stephen Gostkowski, K, New England Patriots
