Denver Broncos Week 7 NFL Power Rankings Roundup

Throughout the 2021 NFL season, we will compile a consensus NFL Power Rankings that averages the rankings of all 32 NFL teams.

ESPN -- Rank: 20

During the season's first three games, the Broncos' offense looked like it knew what it wanted to be: more inclined to go big on personnel with a quality mix of physical play and a downfield passing game. Over the past three games? Not so much. The turnovers are up, and the results are down. And defensively, a team that has immense cover-rush potential hasn't shown it often enough in a three-game losing streak, especially against a Raiders offense that came into Sunday's contest having seen its head coach and playcaller resign just days earlier. -- Jeff Legwold

The Broncos' 3-0 start was built on the backs of some of the worst teams in football. Three weeks later, Denver is 3-3 and looking like the definition of average. Sunday's loss was the most troubling yet, as a Raiders team awash in turmoil shut out the outside noise and outclassed the Broncos in every phase of the game. Some garbage-time production from Teddy Bridgewater couldn't cover up another inefficient offensive performance that included three interceptions, five sacks and too many missed opportunities. The defense struggled, as well, giving up big-play strikes to Derek Carr while rarely getting hands on the Raiders QB. Said safety Justin Simmons: "Simply put, we got our butts whooped."

CBS Sports -- Rank: 21

They've lost three straight games and didn't look good for much of that loss to the Raiders. Is the heat back on Vic Fangio? It could be.

USA Today -- Rank: 21

They've been rudely reality-checked back to .500, they're 3-0 start as dubious as it seemed. Our advice? More carries for the RB duo of Melvin Gordon and Javonte Williams, who are collectively averaging 4.7 yards per rush.

The Athletic -- Rank: 21

Rookie Heat Check: First-round cornerback Patrick Surtain II moved into a starting role in Week 2 because of an injury to Ronald Darby, but has kept that job even as the secondary has returned to full health. He's played well, with an interception and four pass breakups, and has been one of the Broncos' more consistent defensive players. It's not his fault he'll always be compared to Justin Fields (or even Mac Jones), the quarterback the Broncos didn't take.
