Green Bay Packers 2022 NFL Mock Draft Roundup 6.0

Throughout the year and leading up to the 2022 NFL Draft, we will update our Green Bay Packers Mock Draft Roundup showing picks for the Green Bay Packers from several prominent sites and draft analysts.

The following are picks in recent mock drafts for the Packers:

SI - Kevin Hanson (4/1)

22. Jahan Dotson, WR, Penn State

After trading Davante Adams, it's clear the Packers need to upgrade their receiving corps, given that their top receivers are Allen Lazard, Randall Cobb and Amari Rodgers. Dotson creates separation with his nuanced route-running and quickness, has outstanding hands and is elusive in the open field even though he won't break a lot of tackles. Dotson finished his final season at Penn State with 91 catches for 1,182 yards and 12 touchdowns and added value as a punt returner.

28. Boye Mafe, EDGE, Minnesota

Mafe is an ascending prospect who has generated plenty of momentum throughout the predraft process and could sneak into the back end of Round 1. He would make sense here after Za'Darius Smith joined the division-rival Vikings in free agency. After turning heads at the Senior Bowl, Mafe showed off elite athleticism at the combine with a 4.53 40-yard dash (1.59 10-yard split) and explosive jumps (38" vertical and 10'5" broad).

CBS Sports - Kyle Stackpole (4/1)

22. Devonte Wyatt, IDL, Georgia

Kenny Clark could use some help up front, and the Packers get him some in the form of Wyatt. The standout from Georgia can best be described as a disruptor up front, causing issues for opposing linemen in both the run and the pass games.

28. Jahan Dotson, WR, Penn State

It seems like a guarantee that the Packers will use one of their first-round picks on a wide receiver. In this exercise, it happens to be the Dotson, who satisfies Matt LaFleur's need for speed at the position.

Yahoo! Sports - Eric Edholm (3/31)

22. George Karlaftis, EDGE, Purdue

With receiver somewhat picked over and a quality pass-rush talent on the board, this is the way we'll go here. The team drafted Rashan Gary at 12 with the two Smiths signed to big money. We think they'd absolutely consider Karlaftis here as a third rusher behind Gary and Preston Smith.

Two "Greek Freaks" in the state of Wisconsin? We'd love it.

28. Christian Watson, WR, North Dakota State

We don't personally see a first-round talent in Watson, but perhaps the Packers do, and Watson is very much their type. He's long, able to win vertically and gets after it as a run blocker. He'd likely be the Packers' third or fourth wideout but could play a pretty significant role as the shot-play target Aaron Rodgers could use.

ESPN - Mike Tannenbaum (3/30)

22. Jahan Dotson, WR, Penn State

Dotson kind of plays like Marvin Harrison did; he's undersized but has tremendous speed and soft hands. The Packers need a possession receiver with Davante Adams and Marquez Valdes-Scantling out of town, and Dotson caught 91 passes last season at Penn State. He also had only two drops on 142 targets and should be able to gain quarterback Aaron Rodgers' trust quickly.

28. Zion Johnson, IOL, Boston College

Johnson can be a Day 1 starter at guard or offensive tackle, and he could potentially develop into a center. He worked hard on taking snaps as a center at the Senior Bowl, and there's no reason he couldn't end up there in the NFL. Johnson has 34-inch arms and didn't allow a single pressure or sack in 2021. Elgton Jenkins is recovering from an ACL tear, so Johnson could step in at left guard or replace Royce Newman or Yosh Nijman on the right side.

NFL.com - Bucky Brooks (3/29)

22. Bernhard Raimann, OT, Central Michigan

The Packers are not afraid to invest in their offensive line with top picks, having chosen two (Josh Myers and Elgton Jenkins) in Round 2 within the last three drafts. As a former tight-end turned offensive tackle, Raimann is a nimble athlete with the balance and body control to handle athletic rushers on the edges.

28. Christian Watson, WR, North Dakota State

If the Packers break from tradition and add a pass-catcher in Round 1 for the first time since 2002, Watson could be the pick as a long, rangy player with speed and sticky hands.

The Draft Network - Brentley Weissman (3/28)

22. Jahan Dotson, WR, Penn State

One of the biggest surprises of the offseason was the Packers trading Davante Adams to the Raiders, leaving the Packers' receiver corps in a world of hurt. Adding a talent like Jahan Dotson here makes a ton of sense. He is a pristine route-runner with excellent speed down the field. He has outstanding hands and is a menace with the ball in his hands.

28. David Ojabo, EDGE, Michigan

I don't love the options here for Green Bay as I'd like to address their need at right tackle, but there just isn't any value there. Instead, the team will go with David Ojabo who if not for a torn Achilles suffered in his pro day would be long gone by now. While Ojabo is likely facing a redshirt year this year, his upside and potential as an explosive rusher off the edge is too tantalizing to pass up.

The Athletic - Beat Writer Mock (3/28)

22. Jameson Williams, WR, Alabama

Matt Schneidman: Williams tore his ACL in the national title game, but he's too good to pass up this late in the first round, even if he's not ready for the start of the season. I get wanting to give Aaron Rodgers a weapon that is a safer bet to be ready right away given the Packers' small window to contend with Rodgers. But the next quarterback, whoever that may be, needs a stud wide receiver, too.

Dane says Williams would likely be the first wideout taken in the draft if not for his injury, and he still might be even as he rehabs his knee. The Packers take the risk, draft a wideout in the first round for the first time since 2002 in the aftermath of trading Davante Adams and give Rodgers a weapon who can be a dynamic deep-ball threat when healthy.

Brugler: Even with his ACL injury, Williams would be outstanding value for the Packers. He has special speed that forces defenses to adjust how they game plan, which creates opportunities for the offense. I can understand the argument that the Packers need someone who is guaranteed ready to step in from Day 1, but there are already four receivers off the board in this scenario, so guys like Chris Olave weren't in the mix. And Williams should be near 100 percent by midseason.

28. Devin Lloyd, LB, Utah

Schneidman: Yes, the Packers just re-signed All-Pro linebacker De'Vondre Campbell. Yes, they have a more pressing need on the defensive line, even after adding Jarran Reed. But remember how dominant that Buccaneers defense was against the Packers in 2020 with Lavonte David and Devin White at middle linebacker? You know how to mitigate interior defensive line weaknesses? Field a strong pair of edge rushers like Rashan Gary and Preston Smith, inside linebackers like Campbell and Lloyd and defensive backs like Jaire Alexander, Rasul Douglas, Eric Stokes, Adrian Amos and Darnell Savage. Not much is breaking loose on Joe Barry's defense if that's how it lines up.

Brugler: I don't imagine many Packers fans will be in favor of a linebacker here, but the value of Lloyd at the end of the first round makes it worth it. The former safety never has to come off the field with his ability to blitz, stop the run and drop into coverage. And with the way Matt lays it out, that's a pretty formidable defensive group.

PFF - Austin Gayle (3/28)

22. Trent McDuffie, CB, Washington

McDuffie is a clean cornerback prospect with plus coverage ability and athleticism to overcome length and size concerns. He won't be everyone's cup of tea because of his sub-30-inch arms, but he's exactly the type of cornerback Green Bay covets and draws a lot of similarities to current Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander.

28. George Pickens, WR, Georgia

Pickens caught just 90 passes in his college career, and more than half of them came in his true freshman season in 2019. Injuries prevented him from building on his stellar start with Georgia, but a fully healthy Pickens very well could be one of the top three receivers who come out of the 2022 NFL Draft.
