Jordan Love: Love, who missed Weeks 2 and 3, finished 2024 with 3,389 passing yards, 25 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. Not only was he a non-factor as a rusher (25/83/1), but his splits, as a passer, were also rough last season:

  • Weeks 1-7: 15 PaTDs (3 TDs/G); 1,351 PaYD (270.2/G); 22.2 Fantasy PPG
  • Weeks 8-18: 10 PaTDs (1 TD/G); 2,038 PaYD (203.8/G); 13.4 Fantasy PPG

Slowed as he battled injuries in 2024, Love is poised to run more often (although nobody will confuse him for Lamar Jackson or Jayden Daniels), and he has a chance to rebound in 2025. (He was fantasy's QB5 in 2023.)

Jared Goff: The main concern with Goff is losing offensive coordinator Ben Johnson, but new offensive coordinator John Morton was a senior offensive assistant when Johnson became OC in 2022. Another concern is the loss of center Frank Ragnow (retirement) and Kevin Zeitler (free agency), but the Lions have a very talented group of pass catchers — Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jameson Williams, Sam LaPorta, Jahmyr Gibbs, etc.. Goff has finished as fantasy's QB10, QB7, and QB6, respectively, over the past three seasons.

Jayden Daniels: For good reason, Daniels was a favorite of many as a late-round target in fantasy drafts, and the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year delivered for those who rostered him in 2024. Daniels' ADP was QB12 (or a little later, depending on the site), and the dual-threat quarterback finished his rookie season as a top-five fantasy quarterback. Along with Lamar Jackson (2023 and 2024) and Kyler Murray (2020), Daniels became only the third quarterback in NFL history to throw and run for at least 3,500 and 800 yards, respectively, in the same season. The front office's offseason moves support his continued development as he enters year two.

Matthew Stafford: The duo of Puka Nacua and Davante Adams arguably form the most talented wide receiver duo in the league west of Cincinnati (Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins). That said, Stafford has averaged only 12.9, 16.9, and 13.9 fantasy points per game over the past three seasons, respectively. Stafford's back issues shouldn't keep him from starting in Week 1, but fantasy managers who roster Nacua and/or Adams will collectively hold their breathes following every quarterback hit.

2025 Fantasy Football Mock Drafts

The best way to become good at something is to practice. So, what should you do if you want to draft a better fantasy football team?

Practice, of course!

Leading up to the start of the 2025 NFL season, we will use the fantasy football mock draft simulator to complete fantasy football mock drafts. And we will do so using a variety of scoring formats — point per reception (PPR), half-PPR, standard scoring and even 2-QB leagues — and league sizes. The goal is to provide you with a good representation of the team that you may be able to draft given your league settings while also providing the rationale of why we made the picks we did.

That said, nothing beats practicing yourself so (check out the simulator) and complete a mock in a matter of minutes.

Half-PPR Mock Draft: 12 Teams, 4th Pick

Starting positions: 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 Flex (RB/WR/TE), 1 K, 1 DST; Bench spots: 6

Embed from Getty Images

1.04 - Jahmyr Gibbs, RB, Detroit Lions

It was tough to pass up CeeDee Lamb and Justin Jefferson at 1.04, but I loaded up on wide receiver and really love the value I got with my WR4/WR5. Gibbs set or tied career highs across the board in rushing (250/1,412/16, 5.6 YPC) and receiving (52/517/4, 9.9 Y/R) in his second season. Gibbs was also top five among running backs with a minimum of 17 targets in yards per route run (1.67) and YAC per reception (11.5), per PFF. Gibbs was especially good when David Montgomery missed the final three regular-season games (RB1 overall), but he was also the RB3 (RB4 on a PPG basis) from Weeks 1 to 15 when Montgomery was also active.

2.09 - A.J. Brown, WR, Philadelphia Eagles

AJB missed four games in 2024 but channeled his inner excellence to finish with 67 receptions for 1,079 yards and seven touchdowns. While there were some quiet games, Brown's 2024 per-game averages of receptions (5.2) and yards (83.0) weren't that much lower than his career averages (5.7/86.8). Big days from Saquon Barkley could lead to low pass volume in any given week, but I expect more passing overall from Jalen Hurts (24.1 attempts/G in 2024) in 2025. As a comparison, Hurts averaged 30.4 pass attempts per game from 2021-2023 with a minimum of 28.8 per game in each of those three seasons.

MORE: Jalen Hurts 2025 Fantasy Football Outlook

3.04 - Tee Higgins, WR, Cincinnati Bengals

While he would be a WR1 elsewhere, Higgins will continue to benefit from being the 1B to Ja'Marr Chase. While he has missed exactly five games in back-to-back seasons, Higgins finished second (behind Chase) among all wide receivers in fantasy points per game in 2024.

4.09 - Terry McLaurin, WR, Washington Commanders

McLaurin, who recently agreed to a three-year extension, has eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark in five consecutive seasons, and he's been remarkably consistent — 77-87 catches and 1,002-1,191 yards in each of the past five seasons. Likely touchdown regression following last year's spike (13, nearly double his previous career high) and a slow start following his hold-in are potential concerns. Beyond that, however, McLaurin is the top weapon in one of the league's best offenses (seventh in yardage and fifth in scoring in 2024) and Jayden Daniels should be even better in year two.

C.J. Stroud: What a difference a year made, as Stroud finished his 2023 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year campaign as fantasy's QB8 in points per game and as the QB26 in 2024. The coaching staff did him no favors and Stefon Diggs and Tank Dell ended the year on IR with Nico Collins also missing five games in 2024. With the additions of Christian Kirk in free agency and Iowa State rookies Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel in the draft and a new offensive coaching staff in place, there is some optimism for Stroud to rebound in 2025 although the offensive line remains an issue.

QB Totals591.9371.94050.121.6614.3576.4264.52.83263.38

Joe Flacco: Yes, I'm hedging my bets by projecting starts for four different quarterbacks. Outside of 2-QB leagues, however, all of them are far off the fantasy radar so there's no real need to try to make a premature call one way or the other. Chris Easterling of the Akron Beacon Journal recently wrote: "This is Flacco's job to lose. Period." In his first stint with the Browns (2023), Flacco won the NFL Comeback Player of the Year award. In five starts (four wins), Flacco threw for 1,616 yards (323.2 per game), 13 touchdowns (6.4%) and eight interceptions (3.9%). The more games Flacco starts, the more ideal it will be for the team's top pass catchers as well.

Shedeur Sanders: Even those who projected a slide for Sanders couldn't have expected that he would have slipped to the fifth round (144th overall). If you told someone before the draft that he would be the second quarterback selected by his new team (especially with the first being a third-rounder), most would have thought you were crazy. Despite the less-than-ideal (numerical) draft slot, I wouldn't rule out Sanders (and Gabriel) making starts this season. With two first-round picks (and low expectations for 2025), Cleveland will likely be in prime position to draft one near the top of the 2026 NFL Draft and it would make sense for them to get as many evaluation data points for Sanders/Gabriel as possible before then.

Kenny Pickett: Beat writer Mary Kay Cabot wrote earlier this offseason that Pickett was viewed "as the frontrunner to win the starting job at the outset." That said, he's battled a hamstring injury recently and he's not a lock to make the 53-man roster. In the two seasons where he was the primary starter for the Steelers (2022-2023), Pickett threw 13 touchdowns (1.8%) in 24 starts and averaged 179 passing yards per game with 6.3 per attempt.

Washington Commanders 2024 NFL Draft Grades Roundup

The 2024 NFL Draft is now in the rearview mirror, and we have compiled a consensus ranking using NFL draft grades from a variety of sites.

What draft grades have the media given to the Washington Commanders? What are they saying about the Commanders' 2024 draft haul?

NFL.com - Grade: A-

Day 1 grade: A
Day 2 grade: A
Day 3 grade: A-

Analysis: The Commanders entered a new era with an excellent draft. Daniels could be an elite dual-threat playmaker if he becomes more efficient from the pocket. Newton is a force in the front four. Sainristil is a pain for opposing receivers to handle. Sinnott is an underappreciated receiving/blocking weapon. Coleman is a powerful guard/tackle. And McCaffrey is a reliable WR2 or WR3 option.

Washington did not have a fourth-round pick after moving up to the third in the Sam Howell trade with Seattle. It found a future starting linebacker in Magee, whose explosiveness was underappreciated while he was playing at Temple. Hampton possesses a nice combination of size and quickness, and it won't be surprising if he plays as a rookie.

ESPN - Grade: A-

Top needs entering the draft: Quarterback, offensive line, cornerback

The Commanders have undergone a total reset of their franchise over the past year, with a new owner (Josh Harris), general manager (Adam Peters) and coach (Dan Quinn). Peters, who had been in the 49ers' front office since 2017, had some capital to work with in this draft, with six picks on the first two days.

The first step, though? Picking a quarterback. With 2023 starter Sam Howell traded to Seattle, Washington had its choice of Jayden Daniels, Drake Maye and J.J. McCarthy at No. 2 overall. In my rankings, I had Daniels at No. 2, slightly ahead of Maye -- No. 6 -- with McCarthy nine spots later. In the end, the Commanders went with Daniels, a dual-threat playmaker who won the Heisman Trophy last season, and it was the right call. While he won't have quite the level of pass-catchers around him as Caleb Williams, Daniels has a true No. 1 in Terry McLaurin and a solid No. 2 in Jahan Dotson. Daniels is going to thrive in Kliff Kingsbury's wide-open offense and put up some massive numbers.

I wrote on Friday night about Washington's Day 2 haul, which is talented and deep. Taking defensive tackle Jer'Zhan Newton (36) is an example of the best-available-prospect approach; he has Pro Bowl upside as an interior pass-rusher. Mike Sainristil (50) is a really fun slot corner who can pick off passes and blitz off the edge. Tight end Ben Sinnott (53) can be an outlet for Daniels and upgrade as a run-blocker. Brandon Coleman (67) is a guard/tackle hybrid who could play early. And while I had other available receivers rated higher than Luke McCaffrey (100), the former quarterback turned heads with his contested-catch ability last season. Of the Day 3 fliers, I give linebacker Jordan Magee (139) the best chance to make the team because of his speed and size.

I really like this class overall, and whether it goes from great to amazing could hinge on Coleman becoming a starter. If he does and Daniels is a star, this could set the foundation for the Commanders returning to the playoffs -- in a couple of years.

The Ringer - Grade: A

THE COMMANDERS PUSHED ALL THEIR CHIPS TO THE CENTER OF THE PROVERBIAL DRAFT TABLE TO TAKE HEISMAN WINNER JAYDEN DANIELS, an electric dual-threat quarterback who could quickly emerge as one of the most exciting young players in the game. Washington turned around in the second round and grabbed one of my favorite interior defenders in this class, the explosive and unstoppable Jer'Zhan (Johnny) Newton. The former Illinois star adds playmaking depth to the team's already-stacked interior rotation. The team also added dynamic nickel corner Mike Sainristil in the second—a raw but instinctive cover man who can start right away in Washington's secondary. Tight end Ben Sinnott is another one to watch in this haul: The former Kansas State tight end brings high-end athleticism and elusiveness to the Commanders' offense, giving Daniels another target over the middle of the field. This class should provide an immediate boost for the Commanders.

USA Today - Grade: A-

No. 2 overall pick Jayden Daniels (LSU) could be their galvanizing, long-sought franchise quarterback after the previous regime spent years kicking that can down the road. Second-round DT Johnny Newton (Illinois) and DB Mike Sainristil (Michigan) could be foundational players for the incoming staff ... though Newton's arrival seems to signal Jonathan Allen or Daron Payne could be a short-timer. And it's worth wondering if the former decision-makers did the current ones a disservice by dealing Sweat as pass rush is still an issue here. Third-round WR Luke McCaffrey certainly has the bloodlines — and maybe the talent to be an impact target for Daniels from the slot.

Fox Sports - Grade: B+

Rule No. 1 of drafting a franchise QB: surround him with help. But that's not really what the Commanders did after drafting LSU QB Jayden Daniels second overall. They turned to their defense, where they did get great second-round value in Illinois DT Jer'Zhan Newton and Michigan CB Mike Sainristil. Both could be big-time players. The same goes for second-round TE Ben Sinnott. All their top picks were excellent, but their O-line is still a glaring issue and they didn't address that until Round 3 with TCU guard Brandon Coleman. That could turn out to be a regrettable decision. —Ralph Vacchiano

CBS Sports - Grade: A+

Best Pick: It was their first one, quarterback Jayden Daniels. I think he will be the best quarterback from this draft. They locked up a franchise passer with pick No. 2. He will be dynamic.

Worst Pick: I didn't love the pick of third-round receiver Luke McCaffrey, although he has talent and is improving. I think there were better options on the board -- like Troy Franklin -- when the pick was made.

The Skinny: In his first year running the draft, general manager Adam Peters killed it. It started by taking Daniels with the second overall pick, but continued throughout the process. This is a team moving in the right direction. I liked all their second-round picks in defensive tackle Johnny Newton, corner Mike Sainristil and tight end Ben Sinnott. They drafted a lot of talented football players.

Sporting News - Grade: A

Analysis: New GM Adam Peters hopes to flip all the past bad vibes and Daniels' upside as a passer and runner for Kliff Kingsbury is a great start. Defensive-minded Dan Quinn had to love Newton and Sainristil back-to-back to help push this group toward what he had in Dallas. Sinnott and McCaffrey add interesting spread weapons to Terry McLaurin, Jahan Dotson, Austin Ekeler, and Zach Ertz. Then, Quinn got more of what he needed late, too.

SI - Grade: A+

Analysis: This was a straight-up masterpiece. The Commanders got the best quarterback in the draft (as I see it, at least) and then hammered the top 100, eschewing the relatively worthless picks that will be coming in Rounds 4—7. This is one of the few drafts that I thought elevated a team from its pre-draft status into something promising. Could Washington be this year's Texans? I'm not ruling it out and you shouldn't, either.

Touchdown Wire - Grade: A+

If I'm grading a draft on the number of My Guys a team selected (and really, what else am I supposed to do this early in the process), only the Cardinals can rival the number of Farrar favorites selected. Start with Jayden Daniels, who was my top quarterback and No. 1 overall player in this class. I had Johnny Newton ranked as highly as any defensive player not named Quinyon Mitchell. Ben Sinnott started playing hockey at age 3, and in high school, he led his team in both points and penalty minutes. That's a perfect summary of his football playing style. Mike Sainristil is a first-day green dot guy who reminds me of Tyrann Mathieu and Jalen Pitre. And Luke McCaffrey is one of the slipperiest receivers in this class. First-year general manager Adam Peters came into an organization trying to put all kinds of bad decisions behind it, and this draft class couldn't have gone much better in that regard.

Denver Broncos Post-Draft 2022 NFL Mock Draft Roundup

Throughout the year and leading up to the 2022 NFL Draft, we will update our Denver Broncos Mock Draft Roundup showing picks for the Denver Broncos from several prominent sites and draft analysts.

For a more inclusive lists of mock drafts for the Denver Broncos, check out our Denver Broncos Mock Draft Database.

The following are picks in recent mock drafts for the Broncos:

EDSFootball - Hanson (5/10)

24. Myjai Sanders, EDGE, Cincinnati

If the Broncos are picking this late, it's possible that Drew Lock took a major step forward in his development. There were draft-night rumors -- e.g., Mark Schlereth called it "close to a done deal" -- that the Broncos would acquire Aaron Rodgers, but those didn't materialize during the draft.

While I was still tempted to slot another Bearcat (quarterback Desmond Ridder) here, Denver's top pass-rushers -- Von Miller (2022) and Bradley Chubb (2023) -- will become free agents in the next two offseasons. Before Sanders decided to return to school, he was getting some late-first buzz. Sanders had 10.5 TFLs and seven sacks over 10 games last season.

Touchdown Wire - Schofield (5/7)

24. Jayden Daniels, QB, Arizona State

The Denver Broncos passed on a quarterback early in the 2021 NFL draft, and while rumors continue to swirl around veteran passer Aaron Rodgers, the QB position could be in play for the organization in the next draft cycle.

Another passer to watch as a potential QB riser is Arizona State's Jayden Daniels. Daniels was an immediate starter for the Sun Devils as a true freshman, and was an Honorable Mention for the Pac-12 Freshman Offensive Player of the Year in 2019. In just four games last year, Daniels completed 49 of 84 passes for 701 yards, five touchdowns and a single interception. He added another 223 yards and four touchdowns on the ground. With a big junior season -- which is certainly possible -- Daniels could be the next QB to rocket up boards during draft season.

PFF - Renner (5/7)

24. Abraham Lucas, OT, Washington State

Lucas is a powerful right tackle who rarely gets moved on tape. He likely would have declared this past year had the Pac-12 season not gotten significantly shortened. He played only 272 snaps in 2020.

ESPN - McShay (5/6)

11. Spencer Rattler, QB, Oklahoma

The Broncos didn't take a quarterback at No. 9 this year, despite Justin Fields and Mac Jones still being on the board. I was really surprised by that. Trading for Teddy Bridgewater just tells me Denver isn't confident in Drew Lock, who has two more seasons under contract at a soft cap number, as its starter. But at the same time, Bridgewater isn't the answer either, and he's only under contract one more season. You need an elite QB in the passer-happy AFC West, and I think the Broncos could be looking for one next April. Rattler gives them a potential franchise guy at the position.

The redshirt sophomore starred last season with a 67.5% completion percentage, 3,031 yards, 28 touchdowns and seven interceptions. He also added another six TDs on the ground. Rattler excels when throwing downfield and outside the pocket.

San Diego Union Tribune - Brown (5/4)

6. Sam Howell, QB, North Carolina

Howell has piled up 7,227 yards, 68 touchdowns and only 14 interceptions in two seasons. He'd be the sixth quarterback from the ACC to be selected in the first round since 2017 -- Watson (2017), Mitchell Trubisky (2017), Lamar Jackson (2018), Daniel Jones (2019) and Trevor Lawrence (2021).

The Athletic - Brugler (5/4)

24. D.J. Dale, IDL, Alabama

The only true defensive tackle in this mock draft, Dale is a stout nose. He won't fill up the stat sheet, but his impact is clear. He earned the starting job as a true freshman and has been an understated performer for the Tide the last two seasons.

CBS Sports - Wilson (5/3)

26. Desmond Ridder, QB, Cincinnati

Ridder is another QB who is incredibly fun to watch. He can sling it, but he's also rushed for more than 1,800 yards in three seasons. He'll need to but it all together to work his way into the Round 1 chatter by next offseason, but he has all the physical tools.

NBC Edge - Klassen (5/2)

24. DeMarvin Leal, IDL, Texas A&M

Realistically the Broncos would probably trade up for a QB from this position. It's possible Drew Lock or Teddy Bridgewater take command of the job, but my assumption with Denver finishing this well would be that it's in spite of their QB play. Well, there aren't any more QBs left here, so the pick is Leal. Leal is the quintessential pass-rushing DT: lean, explosive, could use some more weight on him vs the run. Denver could use the juice, though.
