DFS Round Table: Favorite DraftKings Plays for Week 16

Every week of the 2017 NFL season, our contributors will provide their favorite DraftKings play of the week and share their thoughts in our weekly DFS Round Table post.

Who is your favorite DraftKings play for Week 16?

Brendan Donahue: Jarvis Landry, WR, Miami Dolphins ($6,300)

In a year that has been filled with inconsistent performances from most players on a weekly basis, one of the most consistent players on the year has been Jarvis Landry. He has scored double digits on DraftKings every week except for one. In that week, he even had 12 targets but managed only 33 yards as his team was shut out by the Ravens. This week he gets the Chiefs who have given up the most fantasy points to opposing WRs so he should have a rather high floor this week along with high upside.

John Trifone: Christian McCaffrey, RB, Carolina Panthers ($6,400)

CMac is coming off a good game, and I expect he’ll build on that this week with a soft matchup against the Tampa defense. Carolina is a big home favorite and McCaffrey should get some solid usage. I like his upside a lot here and his price tag is very reasonable given his floor and his ceiling.

Dan Yanotchko: Christian McCaffrey, RB, Carolina Panthers ($6,400)

McCaffrey has an excellent matchup against the Buccaneers. McCaffrey's splits have been decent over the last four as he’s averaged 46 yards rushing and 40 yards receiving with 16 receptions and two touchdowns. He gets a Bucs defense that allows opposing rushers 119.6 yards per game, 4.4 yards per carry, and 15 touchdowns on the year. Carolina will lean on him heavily.

Kevin Hanson: JuJu Smith-Schuster, WR, Pittsburgh Steelers ($6,400)

Smith-Schuster has scored 20-plus DK points in three of his last five games including Sunday's game against the Patriots when Antonio Brown left early with a calf injury. Favored by nearly double digits, Le'Veon Bell will be in for another typical huge game, of course. For the receivers, however, Smith-Schuster could/should see double-digit targets with 30-point upside against the Texans, one of the league's most generous defenses to opposing wide receivers this season.

John Trifone: Dede Westbrook, WR, Jacksonville Jaguars ($5,100)

Westbrook is a stud, and he’s becoming more involved in the Jags offense. This week, they get a weak Houston secondary and I like Westbrook to be heavily involved. He has 27 targets over the last three weeks and caught his first touchdown pass in a big win over Seattle last week. At $5,100, he’s still underpriced when you consider both his floor and his ceiling, and I expect in the coming weeks, his price on DK will continue to rise.

Brendan Donahue: Mike Davis, RB, Seattle Seahawks ($4,000)

While I'll be the first to admit he disappointed last week, I'm going back to Mike Davis this week. He still fits the narrative that overall has been successful this season: a featured back for less than $5K. He again comes at a discounted price of just $4,000, most likely because he put up only 7.5 points last week. However, he still proved that he was the lead back with 15 carries for 66 yards; he just wasn't able to get into the end zone, which would have made it a very solid day at just $3,700. This week he gets the 29th-ranked defense to opposing fantasy running backs this season so there is a much better likelihood that he adds a touchdown to his already consistent rushing numbers.

Kevin Hanson: Kenyan Drake, RB, Miami Dolphins ($5,800)

In his past two games, Drake has been nothing less than sensational. In those two games, he has carried the ball 48 times for 234 yards and a touchdown and added eight catches for 100 yards on 11 targets. This week, Drake and the Dolphins get a defense that have allowed the second-most DK points to opposing running backs on the year.

Dan Yanotchko: Marqise Lee, WR, Jacksonville Jaguars ($5,800)

This week I like Marquise Lee against a pretty bad secondary of the Texans. Lee has emerged as the first option in Jacksonville’s passing game, as he has 27 targets, 17 receptions and a TD in his last four. The Texans give up 242 yards and 24 touchdowns, so even Blake Bortles will have a good day.

Kevin Hanson: Giovani Bernard, RB, Cincinnati Bengals ($3,100)

This one is contingent on the health of Joe Mixon, who sustained a concussion on Monday night. If Mixon isn't cleared on a short week, the Bengals, who had placed Jeremy Hill on IR earlier this season, will rely almost exclusively on Bernard out of the backfield. Bernard had a season-high 15 touches and 96 yards from scrimmage last week. At a bargain salary of just $3,100, Gio provides plenty of salary-cap relief and flexibility for the rest of your lineup.

John Trifone: Josh Gordon, WR, Cleveland Browns ($5,500)

Gordon will certainly be popular this week after getting 11 targets in his first week back. Casey Hayward called him his toughest cover all year. This week, Gordon will get the weak secondary of Green Bay, and for just $5,500, he should exceed value with a chance to crush it.

Brendan Donahue: Mike Davis, RB, Seattle Seahawks ($3,700)

I'm going to continue my recent theme of finding featured backs that are cheaper than $5,000. It's worked really well lately as evidence by Joe Mixon's 28.5 points two weeks ago and Jamaal Williams' 23.3 points last week. This week, we get an even cheaper opportunity with Mike Davis at only $3,700. He got 16 carries in his first game back from injury last week and played 73% of the snaps, proving that he is without a doubt going to be the featured back this week. Granted, they are going up against Jacksonville, but while their defense overall has been very good, they've still allowed the 17th-most points to opposing RBs on the season so Davis is still too good of a value to pass up.

Dan Yanotchko: Larry Fitzgerald, WR, Arizona Cardinals ($6,500)

This week I am going with the ageless target machine Larry Fitzgerald with a great matchup against Tennessee. Fitz has a four-game split of 42 targets, 32 catches, 78.5 yards per game and two touchdowns. That includes a 12-yard game against Jacksonville. The Titans allow 242 yards passing per game, and 22 touchdowns so far, so the Blaine Gabbert-Fitz stack is in play.

Sean Beazley: Trevor Siemien, Demaryius Thomas, Emmanuel Sanders, QB/WR/WR, Denver Broncos ($4,700/$5,000/$4,700)

I was all over Denver this past week and they burned me. I am not going to let that detour me from going back to them this week at home vs. the Jets. I’m going to go heavy with a double stack of Siemien/Sanders/DT. This stack cost less than $15,000 and will allow me to pretty much do whatever I want with the rest of my lineup. I think this stack will go under-owned considering how poor Denver was last week.

John Trifone: DeAndre Hopkins, WR, Houston Texans ($7,300)

Like most, I had a lot of concerns about Hopkins and everyone on the Texans offense when Deshaun Watson got hurt and Tom Savage took over. That concern appears to be justified for the rest of the team, but certainly not for Hopkins. Although moving forward with Savage, his TD expectation is lower, with Houston averaging close to 20 fewer PPG, Hopkins more than makes up for it on volume. He’s averaged 12 targets/game with Savage, who uses Hopkins as a security blanket. He is definitely underpriced at $7,300 and I expect he’ll have appropriately high ownership.

Brendan Donahue: Jamaal Williams, RB, Green Bay Packers ($4,700)

Ever since Aaron Jones went down, the playing time and more importantly the carries have gone up for Williams. In the past three games, he's carried it 20, 18 and 21 times. And last week he added four catches for 69 yards and a TD. I'm using the same theory as I did on Joe Mixon last week (which paid off nicely). If you can find a running back that gets the bulk of the work for under $5K on DraftKings, then you are getting a bargain. While not as talented as Mixon, Williams has the opportunity to have a big week based on volume just like he did last week.

Kevin Hanson: Jared Cook, TE, Oakland Raiders ($5,400)

Like Brendan, I considered listing Williams as well, but I'll go in a different direction for some variety. Coming off a one-catch, one-yard performance, Cook's ownership may be slightly lower than it otherwise would in Week 13. With Michael Crabtree suspended and Amari Cooper (concussion, ankle) iffy, at best, Cook should be more featured this week and his matchup is as good as it gets. No team has allowed more fantasy points to opposing tight ends than the Giants, who have allowed a league-most 10 TDs to the position this season.

Dan Yanotchko: Robby Anderson, WR, New York Jets ($6,300)

This week, I am keying in on Robby Anderson of the Jets. Anderson has certainly had lots of volume lately, as his last-four splits are 28 targets, 20 receptions, 383 yards and five touchdowns. Anderson has a great matchup against a Kansas City defense that allows 246 yards passing per game with 17 touchdowns as well. Great mid-level guy with lots of upside this week.

Sean Beazley: DeAndre Hopkins, WR, Houston Texans ($7,300)

This comes as no shock, but I’m picking Texans WR Deandre Hopkins at $7,300 vs. the Titans. This might be the third or fourth time I have recommended this play, and it usually does not let me down. The loss of Deshaun Watson was huge for this Texans offense, but Hopkins' targets really haven’t gone down as much. He had a great game vs. a very good Ravens secondary last week, and the Titans can definitely be beat through the air. Hopkins will be a staple of my cash lineup and I will be overweight in GPPs as well.

Kevin Hanson: Joe Mixon, RB, Cincinnati Bengals ($4,400)

I'm going back to well with Mixon this week. Mixon had a season-high 22 touches last week, even if he was less than efficient with those opportunities as the rookie totalled just 49 scrimmage yards. In terms of matchups, going from Denver to Cleveland isn't much better. In fact, you could argue it's worse as only the Eagles (3.07) have held running backs (other positions excluded) to fewer yards per carry than the Browns (3.15). Broncos (3.29) rank third.

What I do like with Mixon, however, is his price and what should be a positive game script. The Bengals are 8-point home favorites and that always bodes well for a featured back. So, I expect Mixon to get north of 18 touches in this game and that's not something that you can typically expect for sub-$4,500 running backs.

Brendan Donahue: Joe Mixon, RB, Cincinnati Bengals ($4,400)

We have been trying to predict the Joe Mixon breakout game for a while now. If it's ever going to happen, this has to be the week. Even though the Browns have been surprisingly good against the run this year, they have been predictably bad as a team and this should be an easy win for the Bengals at home. I expect the Bengals to give Mixon all the work he can handle this week and at just $4,400, you can't find many better bargains out there.

John Trifone: Demaryius Thomas, WR, Denver Broncos ($5,700)

There are several WRs I like early in the week. Julio Jones against an atrocious TB secondary for just $7,700, Kenny Stills at $4,800, whose numbers are significantly better with Matt Moore at quarterback rather than Jay Cutler, and Corey Coleman at $4,300 in a tough matchup, but should get plenty of targets, are all on my radar this week. If I had to pick one, though, I’ll go with DT.

He has 29 targets in his last three games, and has finally been scoring touchdowns, doing so in each of those last three games. We saw what the Patriots were able to do against the Oakland “defense” this past weekend. Teams don’t need Tom Brady’s quarterback efficiency to get a big game out of the receiving corps, and I expect big games out of the Denver wideouts this weekend. Thomas provides one of the safest floors out there with plenty of upside for only $5,700.

Sean Beazley: Julio Jones, WR, Atlanta Falcons ($7,700)

It’s Week 12 and Julio Jones has one TD on the season. He also has only eclipsed the 100-yard mark twice this year. The matchup vs. the Bucs this week is elite, however, and if there is one receiver who can break a slate, it’s Julio (AB84's not on slate). Jones has disappointed DK owners all year, so I am hoping to get him at depressed ownership. I want him at double the field this week.

Dan Yanotchko: Tyrod Taylor, QB, Buffalo Bills ($5,800)

This week I like the bounce-back play of Tyrod Taylor going up against the Chiefs. After coming in after a surprise benching, Taylor put up 185 yards in a half vs. the Chargers with passing and rushing TDs as well. Taylor was also able to hang 285 yard on the Jets, and has had four passing and three rushing TDs in his last four games. We all know the Bills can’t stop Kareem Hunt, so Taylor will be throwing often against a pass defense that allows 285 yards per game and 16 touchdowns on the year.

John Trifone: Kareem Hunt, RB, Kansas City Chiefs ($8,000)

Hunt's price this week isn’t cheap due to the matchup with the Giants, but I like the value from a leverage standpoint. Everyone knows the Giants are the absolute worst against TEs, and they have given up a touchdown vs. the TE every week this year. Travis Kelce is going to be incredibly highly-owned, even at $7,300. If that’s the case, it’s unlikely they’ll also pay up for Hunt, who is capable of a two-TD, 100-plus yard game. I think Hunt is an excellent tourney option.

Kevin Hanson: Joe Mixon, RB, Cincinnati Bengals ($4,000)

Posting his second lowest yardage total after Week 1, Mixon had just 10 touches for 40 yards last week. On a positive note, that means that the rookie's salary has now dipped below $4,500 for the first time in his young career. There are 38 running backs priced higher than Mixon, who is my 12th-ranked PPR running back this week. Mixon has double-digit carries in five of his past seven games, three or more catches in six games this year and has now scored in back-to-back weeks. Given his discounted salary, he should easily reach value with upside to generate plenty of profit for those that roster him.

Brendan Donahue: Rex Burkhead, RB, New England Patriots ($3,600)

In his last two games, Burkhead has 15.3 points and 15.3 points on Draftkings. How's that for consistency? His snap count has gone up each game after coming back from injury and last week we even saw him take over most of the every-down work for Mike Gillislee, who was a healthy inactive which shows how the Pats feel about Burkhead moving forward. This week he goes up against the 29th-ranked defense in the league vs. opposing RBs and is way underpriced at only $3,600.

Dan Yanotchko: Mlevin Gordon, RB, Los Angeles Chargers ($7,600)

This week I really like Melvin Gordon at home against the Buffalo Bills, who suddenly have a weak front-seven after the Marcel Dareus trade. Gordon was stymied last week by the best run defense in the league at Jacksonville, but his touches will be massive, and I look for him to have a bounce-back week. The Bills now allow 114 yards rushing per game and 4.2 yards per carry, but an astounding 14 touchdowns on the year to opposing rushers so far. With the chance that Phillip Rivers might miss a start with a concussion, I would say they lean on Gordon even more this week. Remember the Saints cracked them for six rushing TDs last week on the road, and now they have to face one of the best three-down backs in the game. The arrow is definitely pointing down for the Bills run defense.

John Trifone: Orleans Darkwa, RB, New York Giants ($4,500)

Taking anyone from the Giants offense right now gives me plenty of pause, but Darkwa does seem to be in a premiere matchup and provides a lot of salary relief at $4,500. The 49ers just got gashed by Adrian Peterson, and have the literal worst rush defense in the league. Darkwa has emerged as the lead back for New York and has been producing pretty well in the past few weeks. Typically, I’d still lean toward a fade purely because of the lack of touchdown equity, but this matchup provides a good amount of it, and I think it’s likely Darkwa actually does find the end zone this week. If he doesn’t, he still should be able to pay off $4,500, or at least not kill you, but if he does score, he may smash value. The 100-yard bonus and 1+ TDs is certainly in his range of outcomes.

Kevin Hanson: Jordan Howard, RB, Chicago Bears ($6,100)

Volume is king and Howard is a lock for a massive workload in Week 10. Despite playing in the game with this week's lowest total (38.0), Howard should have positive game script working in his favor -- six-point home favorite with rookie Mitchell Trubisky getting his fifth consecutive start. Carrying the ball 80 times in his past three games, Howard has 100-plus rushing yards and 18-plus DK points in two of those three games. He has a minimum of 19 touches in six consecutive games.

Brendan Donahue: Marvin Jones Jr., WR, Detroit Lions ($6,200)

Over the last 4 games, jones has been a model of consistency with at least 6 catches in each game. He also has 3 tds in those 4 games and at least 96 yards in 3 out of 4 them. The Lions have now positioned themselves to make a serious playoff run and will not overlook Cleveland, so I expect the same consistency out of Jones again this week. Sean Beazley: A.J. Green, WR, Cincinnati Bengals ($7,700)

When I saw what A.J. Green did to Jalen Ramsey last week, I was pretty pumped as I thought for sure he would be suspended for this week when they play Tennessee. (Disclaimer: Titans Fan). Not sure how Mike Evans gets suspended and Green doesn’t, but hey that's the NFL for ya.

If you think what Green did to Ramsey was bad? Just wait until Sunday when he gets a fantastic matchup vs. the Titans, who struggle vs. big-time receivers. Green will be this week's top WR, and my bold prediction is that nobody will come within five points of his total. At $7,700, I will be all over Green this week.

Dan Yanotchko: Ben Roethlisberger, QB, Pittsburgh Steelers ($6,600)

I like Ben Roethlisberger getting a great matchup off the bye against the Indianapolis Colts. Roethlisbeger has a great four-week split averaging 276 yards per game with four touchdowns. Add this to a Colts defense that gives up 280 yards per game and 13 touchdowns and no Vontae Davis equals a great buy at $6,600.

Kevin Hanson: Jack Doyle, TE, Indianapolis Colts ($4,300)

One thing is certain: Doyle will be heavily targeted. Coming off a season-best performance (12/121/1 on 14 targets), Doyle now has double-digit targets in two of three games since returning from a concussion. Over that three-game span, he has racked up 25 catches for 215 yards and two scores on 32 targets. In PPR formats, he's a top-three option for me this week yet seven tight ends (excluding Greg Olsen and Jordan Reed) have higher price tags this week.

John Trifone: Julio Jones, WR, Atlanta Falcons ($7,800)

Early in the week, I don’t see a ton of value in DK pricing. A few spots, like Alex Collins at $4,600 is intriguing, but the theoretical high-floor, high-ceiling guy who’s price is under 8K is Julio Jones. Jones hasn’t had a really big game yet and remarkably has only one TD to date. His one pretty big game in Week 7 vs. New England (9-99-1) for 24.7 DK points is his only game over 20 points this year. I’m betting on some TD regression to the mean in the second half of the season, and I like this spot at Carolina as a potential start to that. At minimum, Jones has 30+ point upside for tournaments for $7,800.

Brendan Donahue: Dez Bryant, WR, Dallas Cowboys ($6,400)

With the news of the Ezekiel Elliot suspension being back on, it has created the perfect storm for Dez to have a breakout game this week. In Week 2 vs. Denver when Dallas went away from the run and only gave Zeke nine carries, Dez was targeted 16 times, catching seven of them for 59 yards and a TD vs. one of the toughest defenses in the league. This week, he gets a defense in KC that has given up the most fantasy points to opposing WRs on the season. In a game where Dallas may lean on the passing game, I expect Dez to be the biggest beneficiary.

Sean Beazley: Marcus Mariota, QB, Tennessee Titans ($6,000)

This is going to be the Marcus Mariota-wins-someone-a-GPP week. I absolutely love Mariota and the Titans offense this week. Mariota is back to 100 percent. First-round pick Corey Davis is back practicing in full as well. There were so many people who were burned by the Titans vs. Cleveland game two weeks ago so there definitely will be some recency bias. I think Mariota will be sub-5% in GPPs and given a full playbook again, he has the potential to break a slate.

Dan Yanotchko: Mark Ingram, RB, New Orleans Saints ($7,600)

Ingram has a great matchup against the Buccaneers, who give up 25.4 FPS in PPR formats. The Saints have been running the ball a lot lately, and his splits certainly show it. In his last four games, he has 79 carries, 85 yards per game and four touchdowns. Throw in 19 receptions as well in his last four, and I will pay the price for him here.

Kevin Hanson: Joe Mixon, RB, Cincinnati Bengals ($4,700)

Averaging nearly seven yards per carry last week, Mixon had 68 yards from scrimmage on 10 touches (seven carries and three receptions) in the first half yet did not touch the ball in the second half. While Mixon expressed his frustration with the lack of opportunities after halftime, that is unlikely to occur again.

Since Bill Lazor took over as coordinator, Mixon had a minimum of 15 carries in his other three games and a total of 57 touches over that span. With a favorable matchup against the Colts, who have allowed the third-most DK points to opposing backs, Mixon and the Bengals are double-digit home favorites in Week 8. Given what should be a favorable game script in a lopsided contest, Mixon should get in the neighborhood of 17-20 touches with some TD upside at his bargain sub-$5,000 price tag.

John Trifone: Chris Thompson, RB, Washington Redskins ($5,800)

Chris Thompson has been getting more and more work lately, and has emerged as the Redskins clear best running back option. His role as a third-down back has been expanded and he has become the Redskins most explosive offensive weapon.

At just $5,800, Thompson has raised his floor high enough that he’s relatively safe, and still has a lot of upside. He has only one game all year with fewer than 15 DK points. I expect that to continue against Dallas.

Brendan Donahue: Josh Doctson, WR, Washington Redskins ($3,900)

While his stat line of three catches for 39 yards on five targets Monday night wasn't very encouraging, the fact that he got the start and played 54 of 64 snaps was. After the game, coach Jay Gruden said: "We drafted Josh to be the No. 1 guy. He just has had some injuries. Now that he's healthy, we want to see what he can do."

Doctson has the talent -- and now the opportunity -- to produce big fantasy numbers against the Eagles, who have given up the fifth-most fantasy points to opposing WRs. At just $3,900, he is the bargain of the week.

Sean Beazley: Mike Evans, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers ($7,900)

Dan Yanotchko: Dion Lewis, RB, New England Patriots ($4,600)

This week I like the value play of Dion Lewis, and the matchup he has against the Chargers. Ever since Mike Gillislee fumbled, Lewis has grabbed the reins as the primary Patriots running back. In his last two games, he has had 24 carries, 128 yards, 5.25 yards per carry, and a touchdown. The Chargers have the second worst run defense that gives up 140.6 yards per game and 4.9 yards per carry as well. With the fearsome Chargers pass rush, I like Lewis and his receiving ability here.

Who is your favorite DraftKings play for Week 7?

John Trifone: Melvin Gordon, RB, Los Angeles Chargers ($7,000)

I’ll be going back to the Melvin Gordon well again this week. DraftKings has priced him down due to a tough matchup with Denver. However, Orleans Darkwa just burned them this past week, giving us their first 100-yard rusher of the season. Perhaps we can chalk that up to being a little fluky, but that aside, Gordon is heavily involved in the passing game as well. Week 1 in Denver, Gordon rushed for 54 yards but gained another 25 from five receptions and scored a touchdown. I expect he’ll have more success running the ball this week at home, and he always has touchdown upside. For the savings you can get for him versus some of the other top backs, Gordon looks like one of the better plays on the board.

Kevin Hanson: Hunter Henry, TE, Los Angeles Chargers ($4,200)

Facing difficult corners on the outside, teams have had more success targeting their tight end(s) over the middle of the field against the Broncos as they have allowed the fourth-most DraftKings points to the position this season. Henry is starting to be more (consistently) involved in the passing attack as he a total of 18 targets, 10 receptions, 148 yards and two scores over his past three games. If you're playing the main slate, which excludes Rob Gronkowski, Travis Kelce, etc., there are limited options at the position and Henry is one of my favorites.

Sean Beazley: Delanie Walker, TE, Tennessee Titans ($5,800)

One of my favorite plays this week is Titans TE Delanie Walker. Walker is at his highest price of the year, and is the top TE on the slate this week. TE is usually a position I pay down at, but on DK you can roll out a double-TE lineup. In fact, a double-TE strategy is a great way to differentiate yourself from the field as most people play a RB/WR in the flex spot. The Browns have been torched all season against the TE, and they haven't faced anyone nearly as good as Delanie Walker. With Corey Davis still out, I expect Walker to be the focal point of the passing attack.

Dan Yanotchko: Carlos Hyde, RB, San Francisco 49ers ($5,900)

This week I like Carlos Hyde of the 49ers, who gets a great matchup against the Cowboys. Hyde has been pretty steady over his last four-game split with 62 rushes, 181 yards and four touchdowns with 14 receptions as well. He gets a Dallas D that allows 118 yards per game and 4.6 yards per carry. With rookie C.J. Bethard starting, his usage should be heavy.

Who is your favorite DraftKings play for Week 6?

Kevin Hanson: Lamar Miller, RB, Houston Texans ($5,400)

As nearly double-digit home favorites, positive game script could lead to a huge day for Miller. Either way, Miller has a total of 95 touches -- 83 carries and 12 receptions -- with a minimum of 15 every week this season. Even though the Texans are high on rookie D'Onta Foreman, Miller dominated snaps in Sunday's loss to the Chiefs by a 56-to-nine margin over the rookie.

Based on DraftKings' main slate of games, which includes no primetime games, Miller has the 16th-highest price among running backs, but he is clearly a top-10 option during this slate. There are two games with no lines yet, but Houston has the third-highest implied total based on Vegas odds for the week. With double-digit DraftKings points in four of five games, Miller has a stable floor established as well as the upside for 100-plus yards and a score or two.

DraftKings NFL $450K Post Pattern: $450,000 in total prizes, $50,000 to 1st and only $8 to enter.

John Trifone: Ben Roethlisberger, QB, Pittsburgh Steelers ($5,700)

There are a few plays I really like this week, but one of my favorite tournament options is Big Ben going into Kansas City this week. His price has been depressed to $5,700, and he’s coming off a five-interception game at home. Roethlisberger has also historically been much worse on the road than he has been at home - in fact his splits are probably the best known of any player in the industry.

Unless you think he’s just done (I don’t), this is a great spot to get Ben at extremely low ownership. The Steelers offense has drastically underperformed this year, but all of the talent is there. They’ll be looking to bounce back this week and they get the 27th passing defense in the league in Kansas City this week. I think the upside here is too high and his very low ownership makes him and a Steelers offense as a whole an ideal tourney play.

Brendan Donahue: Kareem Hunt, RB, Kansas City Chiefs ($8,200)

I don't typically like to pick the highest-salaried players, but at $8200, I think his is more than fair and really don't understand why he is $1,200 less than Le'veon Bell. Hunt is my top-ranked RB this week as he goes up against the Steelers, who have given up the second-most points to opposing RBs.

Hunt has either run for at least 100 yards or scored 2 TDs in each game so far this year. Based on his 29 carries last week, his workload isn't getting any smaller. In fact, if anything, Andy Reid is leaning on him even more. Hunt to me is not only the safest play this week but also has the highest ceiling as well so I would be putting him in both cash and tourney formats.

Sean Beazley: Amari Cooper, WR, Oakland Raiders ($5,000)

DraftKings tempted us last week with a juicy $6,000 price tag for Melvin Gordon. Gordon, alongside my pick last week Dez Bryant, were my highest-owned players which led me to a pretty nice week. I am jumping back in with another player that DraftKings has tempted us with at a great price and that’s Oakland WR Amari Cooper. Cooper comes in at a bargain of only $5000 and has a great matchup vs. the Chargers this week.

Cooper has been straight trash this season. Joe Dolan had a great tweet with a list of players that have had more receiving yards in ONE game than Amari Cooper has had all season. The list includes some pretty big names like Ed Dickson, Austin Hooper and Geronimo Allison.

Derek Carr is expected back this week which should help this offense tremendously. My only concern here is if the Chargers decide to use Casey Hayward to shadow Cooper. Hayward was used in this role last season vs. the Raiders, but shadowing is generally used to stop your opponent's top receiving option, and this year it's Michael Crabtree. If word gets out that Hayward will be on Crabtree, I think Cooper is even safe for cash. Even if Hayward matches up with Cooper, at $5K, you really don't need much to pay off this price tag.

Dan Yanotchko: Chris Thompson, RB, Washington Redskins ($5,000)

This week I really like Chris Thompson of Washington coming off the bye going against San Francisco. Thompson had a down game vs. Kansas City, but he still has 14 receptions on 21 targets, and he has had 14 carries in his last two games. San Francisco allows 116 yards per game, and if you watched Marlon Mack gash them for 91 yards on 9 carries, you know they have trouble on the edge with speed runners. Great price point for a bounce-back week.

Who is your favorite DraftKings play for Week 5?

John Trifone: Melvin Gordon, RB, Los Angeles Chargers ($6,000)

I had to do a double take when I saw Melvin Gordon’s price for Week 5. He hasn’t been as efficient as last year four weeks into the season, but he’s one of a handful of three-down backs left in the league. He gets the Giants, who have been bad against the run, and he should also be involved in the passing game. The Chargers do have a lot of weapons, but Gordon should still get his touches. I’ll take advantage of a deflated price coming off a bad week, but his upside is just way too high to be priced like a mid-range RB.

Sean Beazley: Dez Bryant, WR, Dallas Cowboys ($6,500)

My initial pick this week was going to be Miami WR Jarvis Landry at a bargain $5,800. I will probably load him into my lineup this week, but the pick comes down to the health of Titans QB Marcus Mariota. If Mariota goes, Landry will probably be my highest-owned player this week. If Mariota is out, I will probably only have half as much exposure. I can’t see the Titans scoring much with Matt Cassel at QB, which could limit Landry’s value.

The play that is popping out to me besides Landry is Dez Bryant. Dez has a great individual matchup vs. Green Bay, plus the game flow should warrant some extra targets his way. At $6,500, Dez is an absolute lock for me. I think Dez has a 30-point plus week.

Kevin Hanson: Jameis Winston, QB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers ($6,000)

Normally, I don't list Thursday night options, but I have to go with Winston here this week. As well as Tom Brady has played (currently fantasy's QB1), his opponents have collectively played better. In other words, the four quarterbacks that have faced the Patriots this season have, on average, outscored Brady.

Not only have the Patriots given up the most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks, but their opposing passers all have thrown for 300-plus yards and multiple touchdowns. New England has already allowed more such games in 2017 than they did in all of 2016. As the QB3 in my Week 5 rankings, Winston offers plenty of value as the QB13 in terms of DraftKings pricing.

Brendan Donahue: Wayne Gallman, RB, New York Giants ($3,900)

Gallman finally got his opportunity thanks to an injury to Paul Perkins and the rookie out of Clemson took full advantage. He looked infinitely better than Perkins has so far this year and seemed to provide a spark to the Giants offense in the 2nd half, so even if Perkins is healthy (which it doesn't sound like he will be this week), I fully expect Gallman to continue to get the carries. He also caught both of his targets, including one for a touchdown. At just $3,900, he's a nice tournament play with a high ceiling that will allow you to surround him with some safer/bigger salary players.

Dan Yanotchko: Melvin Gordon, RB, Los Angeles Chargers ($6,000)

This week I really like Melvin Gordon of the Chargers, and his dropping price against the Giants. Although Gordon has had a slow start to the year, I really like his matchup this week. Gordon gets a Giants defensive that gives up an average of 142 yards rushing per game and 4.6 yards per carry. This will be the week he breaks 100 as the Chargers will look to control the game pace.

Who is your favorite DraftKings play for Week 4?

Sean Beazley: DeAndre Hopkins, WR, Houston Texans ($6,400)

As of right now, there isn't anything out there that I truly love this week. One of the plays that I do like is Houston WR DeAndre Hopkins at $6,400. Hopkins has seven catches in each of his first three games this year and has been targeted 37 times this season.

Deshaun Watson looked very good in a loss vs. New England last week and this Titans defense is beatable through the air. This isn't a lock like A.J. Green was for me last week, but I will be rolling out Nuk in many lineups this week.

DraftKings' NFL $1.6M Play-Action ($100K to 1st): Only $3 to enter, Sunday's Play-Action has a $100,000 top prize.

Kevin Hanson: A.J. Green, WR, Cincinnati Bengals ($8,600)

Certainly not a bold move to list Green here, but he will be my most-owned high-priced stud this week. One week after expressing his frustrations followed by a change in coaching staff, Green erupted for 10 catches (on 13 targets) for 111 yards and a touchdown in the team's OT loss in Green Bay.

Historically, Green has been much more productive on the road (6.59 RPG, 98.0 YPG and 0.66 TD/G) than at home (4.69/68.4/21/0.47). In addition, AJG has 8/169/1 and 5/128/1 in his previous two games against the Browns. So far this season, the Browns have allowed monster games to both Antonio Brown (11/182/0) and T.Y. Hilton (7/153/1). All signs point to Green being next ...

John Trifone: Demaryius Thomas, WR, Denver Broncos ($6,300)

Thomas has been nothing if not consistent to start the year. He has gotten 5-6 catches on 8-9 targets in each of the first three games, but has not yet gotten into the end zone. I like Thomas to feast on Oakland's secondary, and I think he gets in the end zone at least once. For $6,300, he's a WR with mid-range price, solid floor and huge upside in a nice matchup this week.

Brendan Donahue: Cam Newton, QB, Carolina Panthers ($5,900)

I'm certainly not basing this on how Newton has looked so far this year, but the Patriots defense just made Deshaun Watson look like the MVP version of Cam last week. The Patriots have given up the most fantasy points to opposing QBs so far this year as well as the most yards and points per game on the field to opposing teams.

Carolina started to integrate Christian McCaffrey more last week, targeting him 11 times for nine catches and 101 yards and the Pats have a tough time covering opposing RBs. I see this as a bounce-back week for Cam and as nine-point underdogs on the road, he has the ability to rack up some garbage time points as well. I would target him in tourneys this week at only $5,900.

Dan Yanotchko: Larry Fitzgerald, WR, Arizona Cardinals ($6,100)

This week I like Larry Fitzgerald going up against the 49ers. Fitzgerald has had an astronomical 43 targets in his first three games. The Niners defense has given up an average of 215 yards to opposing quarterbacks and six touchdowns on the year. At $6,100, Fitz is a great value.

Who is your favorite DraftKings play for Week 3?

Kevin Hanson: Isaiah Crowell, RB, Cleveland Browns ($4,800)

Not only did the Browns improve their offensive line this offseason, but coach Hue Jackson talked about getting Crowell the ball more consistently. Facing a couple of tough run defenses to open the season, Crowell has managed only 2.6 YPC (27 attempts for 70 yards), but it's possible that Crowell could get a larger workload this week.

While he hasn't been efficient on a per-touch basis, the Browns are small road favorites this week. (Yes, the Browns are actually ROAD FAVORITES). Crowell could get 20 or so touches and be relatively low-owned given his lack of production thus far. With 21 running backs priced ahead of him, Crowell has the upside to finish as a top-12 running back this week.

John Trifone: DeAndre Hopkins, WR, Houston Texans ($6,200)

Hopkins looks like a high-floor, high-upside guy this week. He hasn't had a real monster game yet, but has had two games above 14 DK points, averaging over 16 per game. Hopkins has seen an insane 29 targets so far (Antonio Brown, by contrast, has 22 targets), and he is clearly Deshaun Watson's favorite receiver. Houston will likely be playing from behind the majority of the game this week at New England, so all the variables are lining up for DeAndre to have a pretty massive fantasy game.

Brendan Donahue: Zach Ertz, TE, Philadelphia Eagles ($5,000)

Ertz has been targeted 18 times through two games already and has a plus matchup vs. the Giants this week. Ertz has 13 catches for 190 yards, but is still without a TD which he should be able to get against the 30th-ranked defense vs. tight ends this year. Between the injuries and inconsistencies at the tight end position, I will have Ertz in almost all of my lineups this week at a very fair price at $5K.

Sean Beazley: A.J. Green, WR, Cincinnati Bengals ($8,100)

One of my favorite DK plays this week is a player on a team who has not scored an offensive touchdown this season. I love A.J. Green at $8,100. Green always sees a bunch of targets, but in a game vs. the Packers where they should be trailing, Green should see even more work. Baltimore and Houston have good defenses; the Packers do not. I think Green could be the top WR on the week.

Dan Yanotchko: James White, RB, New England Patriots ($5,400)

I like James White of the Patriots this week, as he has a great matchup against Houston. Last week, White had eight catches for 85 yards and with the mounting receiver injuries, he is in line for a lot of snaps. Combine that with Houston giving up 118 yards per game rushing, White will have a high volume day.

Who is your favorite DraftKings play for Week 2?

Kevin Hanson: Marshawn Lynch, RB, Oakland Raiders (vs. NYJ), $6,100

Of the 30 touches by Oakland's running backs in the opener, Lynch had 19 of them as he finished 92 yards from scrimmage. Favored by two TDs with the second-highest implied total of the week, Beast Mode is more likely than not to score a touchdown and has the upside to score multiple touchdowns. In a PPR format, more involvement in the passing game would be preferred, but there is massive TD upside with a secured role in what should be a blowout.

John Trifone: Jacquizz Rodgers, RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (vs. CHI), $4,400

With the Bucs game getting cancelled Week 1, I'm hoping Jacquizz will go a bit forgotten this week, but at $4,400, he's a great value. He's the lead back while Doug Martin is out, so he should get solid volume. I also think he has reasonable touchdown equity. At just $4,400, he also opens up some higher priced options if you want to look at the GB/ATL or NE/NO games.

Brendan Donahue: Marshawn Lynch, RB, Oakland Raiders (vs. NYJ), $6,000

Lynch gets a Jets team that gave up 190 rushing yards last week to Buffalo including 110 to LeSean McCoy. While I wasn't exactly sure what to expect from Lynch this year, he quickly reassured me that there's still gas left in the tank after running 18 times for 76 yards and even catching a pass for 16 more. In a game that has Oakland as almost a 2-TD favorite, I expect a lot opportunities for Lynch to get into the end zone this week and possibly multiple times.

Dan Yanotchko: Sam Bradford, QB, Minnesota Vikings (at PIT), $5,500

This week I really like Sam Bradford going up against the Pittsburgh Steelers. I know Bradford won't be as letter perfect as he was against New Orleans throwing for 356 yards and three touchdowns. Pittsburgh also gave up 255 yards and two passing touchdowns to a rookie quarterback making his first League start. I love the weapons he has with Dalvin Cook, Stefon Diggs, Adam Theilan, and Kyle Rudolph.

DFS Round Table: Favorite DraftKings Plays for Week 1

Every week of the 2017 NFL season, our contributors will provide their favorite DraftKings play of the week and share their thoughts in our weekly DFS Round Table post.

In some cases, the play is intended for tournaments (i.e., Guaranteed Prize Pools or GPPs); in other cases, it's for cash games (e.g., head-to-heads and 50-50's). Or both.

Who is your favorite DraftKings play for Week 1?

Kevin Hanson: Kendall Wright, WR, Chicago Bears ($3,200)

We typically get soft(er) pricing in the early part of the season as DFS sites attract lots of new players. Even so, Wright is a low-cost option that affords us plenty of salary-cap relief to load up on some of the higher-priced studs.

Barely exceeding 400 yards in back-to-back underwhelming seasons, Wright's 1,000-yard campaign (2013) is a distant memory. But his offensive coordinator that season is the same as his offensive coordinator this season: Dowell Loggains.

With an implied total in the bottom third this week, the Bears may not score many points and Wright obviously lacks TD upside. That said, Mike Glennon could be forced to throw it more than the team would like as they try to keep pace with the high-powered, Matt Ryan-led Falcons offense.

Given the injury to Cameron Meredith and the relative lack of talent at the position, Wright could approach double-digit targets. At his price point on a full PPR-scoring site like DK, Wright has a chance to really crush value.

John Trifone: Rishard Matthews, WR, Tennessee Titans ($4,200)

Week 1 is always interesting for DFS. We don't really know much except for what we saw last year, as well as some limited, vanilla-scheme preseason usage.

There are plenty of obvious plays: David Johnson, Le'Veon Bell, Antonio Brown, etc. Those guys at the top would seem to be pretty fairly priced, so I don't think there's too much value in those recommendations.

One of the value tournament guys I like is Rishard Matthews. I'm high on Tennessee's offense going into the year, and at $4,200 after a year of building chemistry with Marcus Mariota under his belt, I like Matthews as a low-owned cheap option. He certainly has upside and I expect him to emerge as Mariota's top target, even with Delanie Walker and the addition of Eric Decker.

Brendan Donahue: Chris Hogan, WR, New England Patriots ($4,800)

In his last eligible game on DraftKings, Hogan rewarded his owners with 42 points on nine catches for 180 yards and 2 TDs against the Steelers in the AFC Championship Game. In his only real meaningful minutes in the preseason, he scored two more TDs in the 1st quarter in the New England's third preseason game vs. the Lions.

With Julian Edelman now out for the year, I expect Hogan to get a continued increase in volume especially while Tom Brady works on his chemistry with newcomer Brandin Cooks. At just $4,800, take advantage of Hogan before his price increases as the year progresses.

Sean Beazley: Michael Crabtree, WR, Oakland Raiders ($6,000)

One player I will be overweight Week 1 is Oakland WR Michael Crabtree. The Titans had one of the worst secondaries in the NFL last season. They did address those needs in the offseason, but have been beaten through the air all preseason. Crabtree had an 8/102 game last season versus the Titans and I believe we will see a similar outcome in this one. Amari Cooper is $1,200 more than Crabtree and will probably be 10% higher-owned, so give me the savings here.

Dan Yanotchko: Bilal Powell, RB, New York Jets ($4,900)

This week, I like Bilal Powell of the Jets at $4,900. He is one of the only offensive pieces the Jets have and has a great matchup to go with it. The Bills last year gave up 133 yards per game, 4.8 yards per carry, and 21 touchdowns. With his great receiving skills, Powell will have a lot of touches this week.
