QB Totals536.7360.24309.729.1713.5371.1276.84.04313.93

Brock Purdy: Purdy had a down year in 2024 but still finished as the QB10 on a points-per-game basis (18.6). Compared to career rates (in parenthesis), Purdy's 65.9% completion rate (67.5%), 4.4 TD% (6.0%), and 8.5 Y/A (8.9) were all lower in 2024. Yes, Deebo Samuel now plays for the Washington Commanders and Brandon Aiyuk, Jauan Jennings and nearly every other receiver not named Ricky Pearsall seem to have injury designations (or a suspension), but Purdy is a value when comparing my projections/rankings to his current ADP.

Baker Mayfield: Mayfield set career highs in passing yards (4,500) and touchdowns (41), although he also led the NFL in interceptions (16). That said, he finished as fantasy's QB4 in 2024 after finishing as the QB10 in his first season with the Bucs. Only Lamar Jackson (16) had more QB1 finishes last season than Mayfield (13). While he'll have his third offensive coordinator in as many seasons, new OC Josh Grizzard was the passing game coordinator for Liam Coen, who's now Jacksonville's head coach. First-round pick Emeka Egbuka should make a significant and immediate impact, but regression and injuries/rehabs for left tackle Tristan Wirfs and wide receivers Chris Godwin and Jalen McMillan to start the season could lead to a disappointing season compared to his fantasy ADP.

QB Totals574.7357.83888.623.4112.2950276.13.04270.45

Bryce Young: Young was benched after a terrible start through the first two weeks last season (only 225 passing yards, 4.01 Y/A, no touchdowns and three interceptions). He didn't start again until Week 8, but he played much better, especially over the final three games (64.8%, 7.0 Y/A, seven touchdowns and no interceptions). After Carolina's Week 11 bye, Young was the QB8 in fantasy PPG (21.2) through the end of the season.

Drake Maye: Could Maye breakout in 2025? There are plenty of positive signs. The Patriots bolstered their pass protection and pass-catching weapons via free agency and the NFL draft including Stefon Diggs, LSU's Will Campbell (Round 1), Ohio State's TreVeyon Henderson (Round 2), and Washington State's Kyle Williams (Round 3). Considering his rushing ability, Maye's floor is high even with a run-heavy approach under Mike Vrabel, but the improvement in offensive firepower gives him more upside as a passer in year two.

2025 Fantasy Football Mock Drafts

The best way to become good at something is to practice. So, what should you do if you want to draft a better fantasy football team?

Practice, of course!

Leading up to the start of the 2025 NFL season, we will use the fantasy football mock draft simulator to complete fantasy football mock drafts. And we will do so using a variety of scoring formats — point per reception (PPR), half-PPR, standard scoring and even 2-QB leagues — and league sizes. The goal is to provide you with a good representation of the team that you may be able to draft given your league settings while also providing the rationale of why we made the picks we did.

That said, nothing beats practicing yourself so (check out the simulator) and complete a mock in a matter of minutes.

2025 Fantasy Football Mock Draft: 12-Team Half-PPR Mock (2nd Pick)

Starting positions: 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 Flex (RB/WR/TE), 1 K, 1 DST; Bench spots: 6

Embed from Getty Images

1.02 - Bijan Robinson, RB, Atlanta Falcons

You could argue that Robinson (not Saquon Barkley) should be the RB1 in 2025 fantasy football drafts, especially considering Barkley's historic 2024 volume (most combined regular-season and playoff touches in a decade). The 23-year-old running back racked up 1,887 scrimmage yards and scored 15 total touchdowns on 365 touches including 61 receptions. From Week 6 on, Robinson averaged more fantasy points per game (21.1) than all other running backs. During that 12-game span, he averaged 19.8/97.6 rushing, 3.6/23.3 receiving and scored 14 total touchdowns.

2.11 - Ladd McConkey, WR, Los Angeles Chargers

McConkey finished as a top-12 fantasy wide receiver (the WR16 on per-game basis among those who played at least eight games) in 2024 and he was especially productive from Week 8 on. Over his final 11 games including the team's playoff loss, he racked up 67 catches for 1,082 yards and six touchdowns on 87 targets.

MORE: 2025 Los Angeles Chargers Fantasy Football Projections

3.02 - Tee Higgins, WR, Cincinnati Bengals

While he would be a WR1 elsewhere, Higgins will continue to benefit from being the 1B to Ja'Marr Chase. While he has missed exactly five games in back-to-back seasons, Higgins finished second (behind Chase) among all wide receivers in fantasy points per game in 2024.

4.11 - DeVonta Smith, WR, Philadelphia Eagles

Smith missed four games in 2024 and while his numbers were down year over year, his per-game averages of 5.2 catches and 64.1 yards were very similar to the averages of his first three seasons (4.8/63.6). Smith finished the year as the WR17 on a per-game basis, and he should continue to be viewed as a mid-tier WR2 in fantasy.

QB Totals502.1332.83840.622.619.81148.6597.212356.17

Jalen Hurts: In the same year that Saquon Barkley rushed for over 2,000 yards, Hurts set a career low as a full-time starter in pass attempts per game (24.1). In fact, that was a drop of 7.5 per game from his 2023 average (31.6). He finished 2024 throwing for only 2,903 yards, 18 touchdowns and five interceptions.

Even with Barkley's rushing greatness last season, Hurts extended streaks of 150-plus carries (to three seasons), 600-plus rushing yards (four) and double-digit rushing scores (four). Over the past four years, Hurts has compiled 611/2,779/52 rushing in 62 games, equivalent to 9.51 fantasy points per game from rushing stats alone. In addition, only two players (both running backs) — Derrick Henry (51) and Josh Jacobs (42) — come within 10 rushing touchdowns of Hurts (52) during that span, per Stathead. (Josh Allen is tied for fourth (40) with Joe Mixon and Jonathan Taylor.)

Tua Tagovailoa: Appearing in more than 13 games only once during his five NFL seasons, the obvious concern with Tagovailoa (in real life and fantasy) is his troubling history of concussions. Over the past three seasons, however, Tagovailoa has led the NFL in at least one different passing category — completion percentage (72.9%) in 2024, passing yards (4.624) in 2023, and TD% (6.3) and Y/A (8.9) in 2022. There's a chance he performs as a back-end QB1 if — a big if — his health cooperates, but his lack of rushing (75/193/0 since 2022) limits the upside even if he plays a full season. For example, the same year (2023) he played 17 games and led the NFL in passing yards, he finished as the QB9 in overall points (QB17 on a PPG basis).

2025 Fantasy Football Mock Draft: 12-Team Super Flex Half-PPR Mock (4th Pick)

Starting positions: 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 Super Flex (QB/RB/WR/TE), 1 K, 1 DST; Bench spots: 6

1.04 - Jalen Hurts, QB, Philadelphia Eagles

There are a clear elite four (fantasy) quarterbacks in two mini tiers — Josh Allen with Lamar Jackson, then Jayden Daniels with Jalen Hurts. With Allen, Jackson and Daniels taken 1-2-3 in this Super Flex mock, it made sense to take Hurts here. Even though Joe Burrow went 1.05, I would have taken Ja'Marr Chase in that slot if I were picking one spot later. With a 2,000-yard season from Saquon Barkley, it's not surprising that Hurts set a career low as a full-time starter in pass attempts per game (24.1). The passing numbers were down, but Hurts' elite rushing production continued. He extended streaks of 150-plus carries (to three seasons), 600-plus rushing yards (four) and double-digit rushing scores (four). Over the past four years, Hurts has compiled 611/2,779/52 rushing in 62 games, equivalent to 9.51 fantasy points per game from rushing stats alone.

MORE: Jalen Hurts 2025 Fantasy Football Outlook

2.09 - Malik Nabers, WR, New York Giants

Perhaps Jaxson Dart will provide a real long-term upgrade, but New York's 2025 quarterback situation is both below average and yet also an upgrade over what they had last year. Despite missing a couple of games and the state of the team's quarterback play, Nabers finished his rookie campaign as fantasy's WR7. With a league-high 10 games with double-digit targets and more targets than all receivers not named Ja'Marr Chase, Nabers never finished with fewer than four catches, seven targets or 41 yards in any game in 2024.

3.04 - De'Von Achane, RB, Miami Dolphins

Achane's year-over-year carries nearly doubled (103 to 203), but the yardage total increased by only 107 yards from 2023. The rushing efficiency dropped even more than most had expected (from his unsustainable rookie levels), but his receiving role was elite as he paced the position with 78 receptions for 592 yards and six touchdowns.

4.09 - Tee Higgins, WR, Cincinnati Bengals

While he would be a WR1 elsewhere, Higgins will continue to benefit from being the 1B to Ja'Marr Chase. While he has missed exactly five games in back-to-back seasons, Higgins finished second (behind Chase) among all wide receivers in fantasy points per game in 2024.

2025 Fantasy Football Mock Draft: 12-Team Non-PPR Mock (7th Pick)

Starting positions: 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 Flex (RB/WR/TE), 1 K, 1 DST; Bench spots: 6

1.07 - Derrick Henry, RB, Baltimore Ravens

Father Time may be undefeated, but Henry carried the ball 325 times for 1,921 yards, the second-best (by far) of his career, and a league-high 16 touchdowns in his age-30 season. In addition, he averaged a career-best 5.9 YPC — a half-yard more than his previous high. Yes, his receiving volume was (and will continue to be) low, but Lamar Jackson limits opposing defenses from being able to stack the box to slow him down. Repeating his 2024 numbers may be unlikely (although he has some extra motivation for 2,000 rushing yards).

2.06 - Jonathan Taylor, RB, Indianapolis Colts

Like with Henry, a concern with Taylor is the lack of receiving volume, especially with Anthony Richardson (or Daniel Jones) under center. Taylor, who missed Weeks 5-7, had only 12/59/1 receiving on 21 targets over the final 10 games of the season. But his rushing numbers over that span were elite — 231 carries for 1,082 yards, both of which were second to only Saquon Barkley, and seven touchdowns. One additional concern with Taylor is that he has missed at least three games in three consecutive seasons.

MORE: 2026 Indianapolis Colts Mock Draft Roundup

3.07 - Tee Higgins, WR, Cincinnati Bengals

While he would be a WR1 elsewhere, Higgins will continue to benefit from being the 1B to Ja'Marr Chase. While he has missed exactly five games in back-to-back seasons, Higgins finished fourth (behind Chase, Justin Jefferson and Chris Godwin) among all wide receivers in fantasy points per game (non-PPR) in 2024.

4.06 - Davante Adams, WR, Los Angeles Rams

Adams, who was traded midseason from the Raiders to the Jets, still managed to extend his streak of 1,000-yard, eight-TD seasons to five. Even though he turns 33 on Christmas Eve and won't dominate targets the way he had at previous stops, he should have (or come close to having) another 1,000/8 season.

New England Patriots 2024 NFL power rankings post-draft roundup

Throughout the 2024 NFL season, we will compile a consensus NFL Power Rankings that averages the rankings of all 32 NFL teams.

Below you will find a post-NFL draft roundup for the New England Patriots in our consensus 2024 NFL Power Rankings.

ESPN -- Rank: 30

Most improved: Quarterback

Signing veteran Jacoby Brissett as a placeholder until No. 3 pick Drake Maye is ready to take over seems to have the Patriots better positioned than they were last season -- with Mac Jones and Bailey Zappe at the reins -- when they finished tied for last in points scored per game (13.8). Zappe and sixth-round pick Joe Milton III (Tennessee) round out the QB depth chart. Brissett has started 48 career games, and Maye's upside sparks promise for the future if New England can develop him properly. -- Mike Reiss

NFL.com -- Rank: 31

You wouldn't know Bill Belichick wasn't with the Patriots anymore if you looked solely at their 2024 draft haul. New England's rookie class feels eerily similar to recent groups brought in under Belichick, where many of the prospects were selected a round to a round-and-a-half before they were typically projected (save for an interesting Day 3 pick or two). That said, I don't think Belichick would've taken Drake Maye at No. 3 overall if his pre-pick analysis of the young QB is any indication. Have to think Belichick would've traded down, as was his MO. Let the record show that I am a Maye fan. But what scares me about the situation the UNC passer has landed in is the seemingly inevitable external pressure for him to play if the Pats struggle. Maye still needs some QB finishing school, and the offense overall still needs three to four quality contributors. Jerod Mayo and Co. need to navigate the young QB's development prudently.

MORE: 2024 NFL Strength of Schedule

CBS Sports -- Rank: 30

They drafted Drake Maye to be their franchise quarterback. The question now is when he starts. It could be Jacoby Brissett for a while.

USA Today -- Rank: 30

They're pretty much running it back with a team that went 4-13, aside from changes at quarterback and head coach. OK, so not really running it back. But, aside from whatever the plan becomes behind center, this team's success (or lack thereof) will likely stem from how it adjusts to its radically altered environment.

The Athletic -- Rank: 24

The Patriots had the good fortune to be picking third in a draft that had three highly regarded quarterback prospects. And they had the good sense to simply take North Carolina's Drake Maye instead of trading the pick. New England signed Jacoby Brissett in free agency, so it can afford to give Maye plenty of time to get ready before throwing him into an offense that isn't good enough to help him as a rookie.

Fox Sports -- Rank: 29

You've got to love the vibes coming out of the draft. The Pats restocked their offense in one weekend, and now we wait to see how well it translates. The early guess is that it's not going to look as easy as it does on paper. Is Drake Maye even going to start right away over Jacoby Brissett? How quickly can these rookie receivers and linemen hit the ground running? The safe bet is there are bound to be growing pains for all these young players.

Jacoby Brissett137.287.8905.54.392.214.859.20.8560.4

Drake Maye: The Patriots drafted Maye third overall, and it's obvious he's the team's quarterback of the future. But will that future begin in Week 1? Currently, I project Jacoby Brissett to make roughly a quarter of the team's starts. With one of the league's least dynamic receiving corps, the passing numbers will likely be modest whether he starts Week 1 or takes over later in the year. Even so, his mobility and rushing upside could make him a viable streaming option.

Jacoby Brissett: Back with the team that drafted him in 2016, Brissett will play for his fifth team in five seasons. Across 48 career starts, Brissett has averaged only 208.2 passing yards and one passing touchdown per game. He lacks fantasy upside, even if he begins the year as the starter.

JaMycal Hasty5.522.80.152.920.30.17.26

Rhamondre Stevenson: New England had one of the league's worst offenses — 30th in total offense, 29th in yards per play and 31st in scoring offense — in 2023, and now they will most likely give most of their snaps to a rookie quarterback. The situation limits his ceiling, but Stevenson is a solid RB2 in fantasy. He's two years removed from a 1,461-yard and 69-reception season.

Antonio Gibson: While he exceeded 1,000 scrimmage yards and scored double-digit touchdowns in each of his first two seasons, Gibson set career lows in touches (113), scrimmage yards (654) and touchdowns (three) in 2023. On a positive note, he gets a fresh start in New England.

Demario Douglas: Although he failed to score a touchdown, Douglas had 49 catches for 561 yards as a late-round rookie (210th overall) last season. Douglas had at least five targets in his final nine games, and he averaged 4.3 catches for 46.4 yards on 6.9 targets per game over that stretch.

Ja'Lynn Polk: Polk doesn't have the elite long-term upside of his former Washington Huskies teammate Rome Odunze (92/1,640/13), but he has excellent ball skills and body control and was highly productive in his final collegiate season (69/1,159/9). The Patriots used a high second-round pick (37th overall) on Polk, and he has the potential to lead the team's receiving corps in fantasy production.

Way-too-early New England Patriots 2025 NFL mock draft roundup

Throughout the year and leading up to the 2025 NFL Draft, we will update our New England Patriots Mock Draft Roundup showing picks for the New England Patriots from several prominent sites and draft analysts.

The following are picks in recent mock drafts for the Patriots:

Fox Sports - Rob Rang (5/3)

2. Travis Hunter, CB/WR, Colorado

A flashy dual-threat athlete whose playmaking ability is reminiscent of his Colorado head coach Deion Sanders, Hunter has the pure cover skills and soft hands to star wherever his future NFL teams most needs help.

ESPN - Jordan Reid (5/2)

3. Will Campbell, OT, LSU

The Patriots' starting left tackle this season will likely be Chukwuma Okorafor. He's on a one-year deal, meaning New England should be searching for a long-term solution to protect the blind side of Drake Maye. Campbell is a technician who plays with poise, displaying the foot quickness and balance to mirror and match defenders in pass protection. He has played only left tackle during his career at LSU (1,625 total snaps) and didn't allow any sacks last season.

MORE: 2024 NFL Strength of Schedule

San Diego Union-Tribune - Eddie Brown (5/2)

5. Kelvin Banks Jr., OT, Texas

First you draft a QB (Drake Maye), then you fortify his protection and surround him with as many weapons as possible. Like LSU's Campbell, Banks also started at left tackle as a true freshman in 2022 and has excelled ever since.

The Athletic - Dane Brugler (4/30)

3. Mason Graham, IDL, Michigan

It's been tough studying the Michigan defense without your eyes being drawn to No. 55 at defensive tackle because of his consistent disruption. Graham is explosive off the ball with powerful hands and an unmatched motor to disrupt backfield action.

PFF - Max Chadwick (4/29)

2. Will Campbell, OT, LSU

The Patriots threw multiple darts at the 2024 offensive line class, but they currently lack a franchise left tackle. LSU's Will Campbell appears fully capable of filling that void. He has posted an 82.2 overall grade across his first two seasons in Baton Rouge.

The 33rd Team - Marcus Mosher (4/29)

1. James Pearce Jr., EDGE, Tennessee

James Pearce Jr. had a monster sophomore season, racking up 14.5 tackles for a loss and 10 sacks. He has a really good chance to be the first defensive player off the board next April. In a relatively weak quarterback class, seeing a pass rusher picked at No. 1 wouldn't be a surprise.

USA Today - Michael Middlehurst-Schwartz (4/28)

2. Travis Hunter, CB/WR, Colorado

A cornerback has never been taken this early in the draft. Hunter, of course, is not merely a cornerback. College football's premier two-way player should be a highly sought-after prospect on either side of the ball.

As a receiver, he could be the spark that Eliot Wolf has sought for the offense but was unable to provide for Maye in building out the supporting cast. But his other-worldly ball skills could also come in handy on defense, where he could prompt opposing quarterbacks to stay away from his side of the field entirely. If Hunter is able to focus on developing at one position — and stay fresh by actually coming off the field every now and then — he could be in for astronomical growth. No matter where he ends up, Wolf and Jerod Mayo would likely be overjoyed to incorporate playmaking talent.

New England Patriots Week 10 NFL Power Rankings Roundup

Throughout the 2023 NFL season, we will compile a consensus NFL Power Rankings that averages the rankings of all 32 NFL teams.

Below you will find a Week 10 roundup for the New England Patriots in our consensus 2023 NFL Power Rankings.

ESPN -- Rank: 28

Non-QB MVP: C David Andrews

Andrews hasn't missed a snap and has been the one constant for an offensive line that has used seven different configurations in nine games. He's also usually the first player at the postgame interview podium -- usually in his game uniform -- answering challenging questions after losses. -- Mike Reiss

NFL.com -- Rank: 29

Bill Belichick having to answer near-weekly questions about his job status will never not be weird for me. The Patriots' ship sailed so straightly for so long, the fact that it's been adrift for a few years now has just been so strange. There's little mystery to New England's troubles, with quarterback Mac Jones being a talent-dependent game manager on a mostly talent-bereft team. The weaknesses are not just at the skill positions, but that's part of it. And thanks to the Patriots' gross rash of injuries on defense, that group is a very un-Belichickian shell of itself. The whole thing feels unstable and untenable. Even with the news last month of Belichick's offseason extension, nothing about his future in New England feels certain. That probably applies to Jones, too.

CBS Sports -- Rank: 27

This is going to be a long season and one that will question the future of Bill Belichick in New England. He should stay as long as he wants, but you never know.

USA Today -- Rank: 29

Hopefully the good people of Germany are not expecting Manning vs. Brady in Sunday's Colts-Pats game in Frankfurt.

The Athletic -- Rank: 30

Report card: F

The Patriots have the same record as the Giants yet are still fun to pick on. That's the cost of having dominated the league for so long. Folks tend to savor your ensuing misery more, and things are pretty miserable in New England. Mac Jones, the Patriots' first-round quarterback from 2021, is not good and for some reason threw the ball 44 times Sunday. He is ninth in the NFL in attempts this season (304) and 29th in yards per attempt (6.1). Why?

FOX -- Rank: 28

The Patriots' roster is bad, and the Patriots' young quarterback is struggling. I don't envy the people who have to decide if this is it for Mac Jones, or if the Patriots need to upgrade the talent around him. But the harsh reality is that New England is heading for the type of draft pick that will give them a shot at a quarterback. These are bleak but interesting times in Foxborough.

Yahoo! -- Rank: 29

Losing to a bad Commanders team that just traded two of its best players is another low point for the Patriots. The Krafts are grumbling in the owner's box. The Patriots are at the bottom of the AFC. And the real question is: How did this team beat the Bills?

PFT -- Rank: 31

Which way to the Patriot Way?

New England Patriots Week 9 NFL Power Rankings Roundup

Throughout the 2023 NFL season, we will compile a consensus NFL Power Rankings that averages the rankings of all 32 NFL teams.

Below you will find a Week 9 roundup for the New England Patriots in our consensus 2023 NFL Power Rankings.

ESPN -- Rank: 28

When Mac Jones doesn't throw an INT, the Patriots are 2-0. When Jones throws an INT, they are 0-6. This highlights the one area that continues to hold him back -- the inability to avoid costly turnovers leading to points for the opposition. That showed up again late in the second quarter in a loss to the Dolphins on Sunday when Jones was picked by Jalen Ramsey and it turned into a field goal. On the season, Jones is 173-of-260 for 1,641 yards with 9 touchdowns and 8 interceptions. -- Mike Reiss

NFL.com -- Rank: 28

It'll be interesting if the Patriots turn into sellers at the deadline, even with injuries killing their depth almost everywhere. Some might suggest they should hold off, with winnable games against the Commanders and Colts up next, but that seems shortsighted. I'd be willing to listen to offers for Josh Uche or Kyle Dugger, the latter of whom had a huge game in Sunday's loss to Miami. It's not that they're not good players, but they're two of the few Patriots assets that could net something in return, and it's not likely both will receive big extensions from New England in 2024. One would assume there's another stripdown coming, although it's hard to imagine what the offseason plan will be. The optimism sparked by the Bills win was short-lived, and reality has set back in.

CBS Sports -- Rank: 27

After a big win against the Bills, it was back to reality against Miami. They just aren't a good team - even with Bill Belichick as coach.

USA Today -- Rank: 27

With their leading receiver, WR Kendrick Bourne, tearing his ACL, hard to say where an offense that was going nowhere fast heads from here.

The Athletic -- Rank: 29

Something scary (for them): Bill Belichick's staples

Mac Jones has been bad (30th in EPA per dropback), but he's not the only reason New England is four games under .500. The defense and special teams, Belichick's specialties, also stink. The Patriots are allowing 26 points per game, which ranks 26th in the league. They've held just one opponent under 20 points, and that was the Jets. On top of that, New England's special teams EPA is minus-19.68, which ranks 31st, according to TruMedia.

FOX -- Rank: 27

It's not as if the Patriots got blown off the field in Miami, but you can see the writing on the wall. New England has the worst record in the AFC and is the only team in the AFC East below .500. Kendrick Bourne is now out for the year. We can't write off another surprising win or two, but it feels safe to say the Patriots aren't going anywhere in 2023.

Yahoo! -- Rank: 27

Receiver Kendrick Bourne had some good moments this season, including touchdowns in each of the Patriots' past two games. He tore his ACL on Sunday and is done for the season. It's another step back for a Patriots offense that doesn't have a lot of talent.

PFT -- Rank: 31

They're currently 16th out of 16 teams in the AFC standings.

New England Patriots Week 7 NFL Power Rankings Roundup

Throughout the 2023 NFL season, we will compile a consensus NFL Power Rankings that averages the rankings of all 32 NFL teams.

Below you will find a Week 7 roundup for the New England Patriots in our consensus 2023 NFL Power Rankings.

ESPN -- Rank: 30

Lesson learned: The offense is holding them back.

The Patriots are the only team in the NFL not to score more than 20 points in a game this season. A combination of shaky offensive line play (31st in pass-block win rate, 44.1%), receivers not coming through when the opportunity presents itself (e.g. DeVante Parker's drop on a beautiful deep ball late in Sunday's loss) and Mac Jones' turnover struggles (three returned for touchdowns in blowout losses in Weeks 4 and 5) has put the defense in a tough spot -- especially early in games. -- Mike Reiss

NFL.com -- Rank: 29

It's broken-record time, as the Patriots once again fell in an early (double-digit) hole they couldn't pull themselves out of, stricken by too many mistakes. At least the Pats showed some fight, as they gave themselves a remote chance to pull off a comeback against the Raiders. Following the blowout losses to Dallas and New Orleans, it's progress. But for anyone holding out hope that there's some untapped Bill Belichick magic, I'd remind them that the roster is in incredibly tough shape. Even in August, with nearly everyone healthy, the personnel (especially on offense) felt thin compared to the other AFC East teams. Now, with so much of the defense banged up, it's not pretty. Oh, and the Bills and Dolphins are up next.

CBS Sports -- Rank: 29

They competed against the Raiders, which is progress. It's hard to believe it's come down to that for this group.

USA Today -- Rank: 31

Among their many, many failings? No team has fewer takeaways (3). And no team has a higher percentage of drives (81.7%) that end without points.

The Athletic -- Rank: 28

The Patriots are the second-highest power-ranked one-win team only because of their victory against the Jets. Outside of that, New England has very little going for it. The Patriots are 31st in the league in point differential (minus-80). Quarterback Mac Jones is 30th in passer rating (74.4) and yards per attempt (6) and has more interceptions than touchdowns (seven to five). The Patriots defense is fourth in the league in success rate (63.4 percent) and eighth in yards per play allowed (4.8).

And New England is still this bad.

FOX -- Rank: 31

I guess it's a step in the right direction that the Patriots were competitive in Vegas, but it's still a loss to a Raider team that lost Jimmy Garoppolo in the second quarter and hadn't scored 20 points all season prior to Sunday.

Yahoo! -- Rank: 31

The Patriots' next two games are against the Bills and Dolphins. This could continue to spiral downward for New England. The next question is how long Mac Jones can keep his starting job if the Patriots continue to look this bad.

PFT -- Rank: 32

Bill Belichick will own the all-time record for losses before setting the all-time record for wins (if he ever does).

New England Patriots Week 6 NFL Power Rankings Roundup

Throughout the 2023 NFL season, we will compile a consensus NFL Power Rankings that averages the rankings of all 32 NFL teams.

Below you will find a Week 6 roundup for the New England Patriots in our consensus 2023 NFL Power Rankings.

ESPN -- Rank: 30

Fantasy surprise: TE Hunter Henry

Not many choices from a team that has scored just 55 points all season, but Henry ranks 10th among tight ends in fantasy points scored with 17 receptions for 176 yards and 2 touchdowns. He's been one of the few bright spots and is a consistent presence on the field, having played 83% of the offensive snaps. -- Mike Reiss

NFL.com -- Rank: 29

The last two weeks have been the darkest stretch for this franchise in quite some time. Seeing Bill Belichick punt on fourth-and-3 from the Saints' 40-yard line in a 24-0 game in Foxborough was shocking. One of the greatest coaches in football history just seemed defeated. Two weeks in a row, the Patriots have had to bench Mac Jones for his own good. The season has gone from concerning to depressing, and I have very little hope that a banged-up defense is somehow going to come to the rescue. Until further notice, New England can safely be called one of the worst teams in the NFL, which is just strange to type. The fear factor is long gone.

CBS Sports -- Rank: 29

This team is toast. It's hard to believe they are this low with Bill Belichick as the coach. Maybe it was Tom Brady for all those years.

USA Today -- Rank: 31

If the dynasty wasn't already dead, then life support has officially been unplugged. Bill Belichick wants to "start over" after suffering the two worst defeats of his career with an offense that's been shut out of the end zone for 10 consecutive quarters and has turned it over 10 times.

The Athletic -- Rank: 30

It's not New England's fault that Christian Gonzalez got hurt. The No. 17 pick at cornerback was the real deal before his shoulder injury. The rest of this mess is the Patriots' fault. New England's minus-76 point differential is the second worst in the league, and talk of Bill Belichick being pushed out the door suddenly doesn't seem crazy.

FOX -- Rank: 30

Getting housed by the Cowboys on the road is one thing; getting pulverized by a struggling Saints offense at home is something else. It hasn't been great for the Patriots since Tom Brady left town, but this feels like a different sort of ineptitude. It's going to get real ugly in Foxborough if the Pats can't at least keep their games close.

Yahoo! -- Rank: 28

The Patriots have a minus-54 point differential over the past two weeks, which seems impossible for a Bill Belichick-coached team. It's just all terrible for the Patriots right now. The conversation can already start about Belichick's future. He'll be 72 next season. Does he want to be a part of this long-term rebuild? Do the Patriots want to make a change, and if they do, how do you move on from a legend like Belichick without it being utterly messy?

PFT -- Rank: 32

The knives are out for a chronic curmudgeon who can't coach his way out of a growing list of mistakes.
