2018 Fantasy Football Projections: Kansas City Chiefs

In addition to viewing our 2018 Fantasy Football Projections by position, we will post our preseason projections per team.

Below you will find our 2018 fantasy football projections for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Patrick Mahomes553.2350.7426024.314.943.61571.52.8256.9
Playing well in one start as a rookie, Mahomes enters the 2018 season as the starter with Alex Smith traded to Washington this offseason. With a gunslinger mentality a la Brett Favre, Mahomes may be more prone to turnovers than Smith, but he also possesses the ability to push the ball down the field. Adding Sammy Watkins to the receiving corps, the Chiefs have their most talented group of pass-catchers during the Andy Reid era and Smith finished as a top-three fantasy quarterback last season.

Running Backs

Kareem Hunt257.31183.68.557.6472.32.90.8232.39
The 2017 rushing champion, Hunt started and finished his rookie season strong with a bit of a slump in the middle. Racking up 100-plus YFS first seven games of his career, Hunt posted full-season numbers of 1,782 YFS, 53 receptions and 11 touchdowns.
Spencer Ware74.7317.53.723.6212.41.21.579.39
Ware missed all of last season, but he was ready for the start of training camp. Ware had 1,368 total yards in 2016 and Hunt is the team's clear lead back, but the release of Charcandrick West makes Ware one of the better handcuff options.
Damien Williams16.661.40.34.839.
Anthony Sherman5.816.20.36.349.

Wide Receivers

Tyreek Hill66.11031.26.310.466.60.30.5149.58
Nearly doubling his receiving yardage to 1,183 in Year 2, Hill closed the season strong with 21 catches for 457 yards and three touchdowns in four December games. There is the potential to improve upon last year's numbers with Mahomes under center, but the addition of Sammy Watkins (a much more talented WR2) to the receiving corps could diminish his opportunity for a major jump in production.
Sammy Watkins54.3857.960000.2121.39
When things are going right, Watkins can be as productive as any receiver in the league. That said, he's now playing for his third team in three years and had only 39/593/8 for the league's highest-scoring offense last year. Given his talent level playing in what should be one of the league's best offenses, there is plenty of upside even if he's the fourth option behind Hunt, Kelce and Hill.
Chris Conley24.2423.51.50000.151.15
Demarcus Robinson14.7151.40.60000.118.54

Travis Kelce85.61095.77.30000.5152.37
Recording back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons, Kelce finished 2017 with 83 catches for 1,038 yards and a career-high eight touchdowns. After Rob Gronkowski, Kelce is the clear TE2 -- or perhaps even the TE1(a) given Gronk's durability history.
Demetrius Harris13.5155.30.90000.120.73
Jace Amaro6.274.40.30000.19.04
