Davis Mills: Considering the circumstances, Mills exceeded his 2021 expectations. The third-round rookie completed slightly more than two-thirds of his pass attempts while throwing 16 touchdowns to 10 interceptions over 13 games. Entering his second season as the clear starter, there is an opportunity to build upon last year's production even if he isn't yet a fantasy-viable option outside of two-QB and Super Flex leagues.

Rex Burkhead: In his first season with the Texans, Burkhead had 122 carries for 427 yards and three touchdowns and added 25 catches for 186 yards. He now has 25-plus catches in three consecutive seasons and four of the past five. While he may rank third on the team in carries, Burkhead should handle the vast majority of pass-down reps.

Marlon Mack: In 2018 and 2019 combined, Mack rushed for 1,999 yards and 17 touchdowns on 442 carries (4.52 YPC). Since then, he has appeared in just seven games with a total of 37 scoreless touches and he appears to behind Pierce (early downs) and Burkhead (third downs) for snaps to enter the season.

Brandin Cooks: Cooks has eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark in back-to-back seasons and six of the past seven. In addition, he has finished as a top-20 fantasy receiver in six of the past seven seasons. As the team's clear go-to receiver, he'll be a reliable WR2 for fantasy managers in 2022 with the upside to outperform his draft status.

Nico Collins: As a rookie, Collins finished with 33 catches for 445 yards and a touchdown. With John Metchie III (acute promyelocytic leukemia) expected to miss the 2022 season, it opens up opportunities for Collins to make a second-year jump. (On a positive -- and more important -- note, Metchie described APL as "the most curable form of Leukemia" and he expects to "make a recovery at a later point in time.")

Brevin Jordan: Jordan made his NFL debut in Week 8 and finished with 20 catches for 178 yards and three touchdowns. While those aren't prolific numbers, he was fantasy's TE24 in half-PPR scoring from Week 8 on. Atop the team's depth chart heading into his second season, there is some sleeper appeal with the former Hurricane, especially in TE-premium formats.

Dameon Pierce: Pierce never exceeded 106 carries in any season in Gainesville, but the former Gator has featured-back size who runs with physicality and good contact balance. Like with Marlon Mack, there could be an opportunity for Pierce to seize a larger share of the workload than expected and outperform his ADP. It's likely that Pierce sees his role expand as the season progresses, even if he's behind Mack (and/or Rex Burkhead) to start the season.

Marlon Mack: In 2018 and 2019 combined, Mack rushed for 1,999 yards and 17 touchdowns on 442 carries (4.52 YPC). Since then, he has appeared in just seven games with a total of 37 scoreless touches. Signed to a $2 million, one-year deal, Mack could outperform his ADP as part of a three-headed running back committee that currently lacks a clear top guy.

Carson Wentz: The initial timetable was wide (5-12 weeks), but all indications point to Wentz (foot surgery) being ready for Week 1 against the Saints. Being reunited with Frank Reich, there is some optimism for Wentz to rebound. In their final season together in Philadelphia (2017), Wentz led the NFL in both TD% (7.5%) and QBR (78.5), scored the fifth-most fantasy points (despite missing three games) and was selected to the AP All-Pro Second Team.

Jonathan Taylor: Over his final seven games of the season including a playoff loss, Taylor handled a massive 156 touches, racked up 921 yards and scored nine total touchdowns. Excluding that playoff appearance, Taylor ranked top four in the NFL in touches, YFS, touchdowns and half-PPR fantasy points from Week 11 on. Running behind one of the league's best offensive lines, Taylor carries plenty of momentum with him into 2021 even though the Colts re-signed Marlon Mack.

Nyheim Hines: One of the better receiving backs in the league, Hines finished as a top-24 running back across all scoring formats (RB15 in PPR, RB20 in half-PPR and RB24 in standard) in 2020. Only Alvin Kamara (83) and J.D. McKissic (80) had more receptions than Hines (63) last season.

Michael Pittman Jr.: Pittman Jr. scored only one touchdown as a rookie in 13 games, but the big-bodied receiver (6-4, 223) should be utilized as a red-zone weapon more often in 2021. The second-year wideout is a breakout candidate and it wouldn't be a surprise if he emerged as the team's WR1.

T.Y. Hilton: Over the past two seasons, Hilton averaged 50.8 (2020) and 50.1 (2019) YPG, which are the two lowest of his NFL career. A WR4/WR5 in fantasy drafts, the 31-year-old vet could potentially finish the season as Indy's WR3 as the youngsters emerge.

Parris Campbell: After an injury-plagued rookie season, Campbell, a second-round pick in 2019, played only two snaps in Week 2 prior to a PCL injury that ended his 2020 season. Before the injury, he had 6/71 on nine targets and a nine-yard rush attempt in Week 1 last season. If he can stay healthy, he could challenge Hilton and Pittman as the team's most productive fantasy receiver.

Jack Doyle: Over the past four seasons, Doyle's per-game average has declined every season -- 46.0 YPG (2017), 40.8 (2018), 28.0 (2019) and 17.9 (2020). While the Colts run a TE-friendly offense, Doyle will go undrafted in all but the deepest of TE-premium leagues.

Indianapolis Colts Fantasy Football Projections 2020

Reaching the 20-interception mark for the third time in his career, Rivers also set a 12-year low with 23 touchdowns in 2019. Will a change of scenery and a reunion with Frank Reich and Nick Sirianni help the 38-year-old quarterback bounce back in 2020? Given what he showed last season, fantasy owners should temper expectations.

While Marlon Mack may enter the season as the starter, the Colts will "ride the hot hand" and a shift to Taylor getting the larger share of the workload at some point in the season would be a realistic expectation. The most prolific collegiate running back ever over a three-year span, Taylor has shown the ability and durability to handle a workhorse role and possesses a rare combination of speed (sub-4.4) for his size (226 pounds).

Posting his first-ever 1,000-yard rushing season on a career-high 247 carries, Mack also set a career low in receptions (14) and targets (17). Entering the final year of his rookie deal, Mack will cede more work to rookie Jonathan Taylor as the season progresses.

Injuries derailed what could have been another productive season for Hilton, who missed a total of six games and played with a calf tear down the stretch. When healthy, Hilton, fourth on the Colts all-time receiving list, is a WR2 with upside. Offensive coordinator Nick Sirianni has said that he "expect(s) the 2018 version" of Hilton.

The Colts used the 34th-overall pick on Pittman, who has great size (6'4", 223 pounds) to win in contested-catch and red-zone situations and is an underrated athlete (4.52 forty). While the passing offense goes through Hilton, when healthy, it wouldn't be a surprise if Pittman led the team in receiving touchdowns as a rookie.

PPR Fantasy Football Mock Draft 2019: 12 Teams, 12th Pick

The best way to become good at something is to practice. So, what should you do if you want to draft a better fantasy football team?

Practice, of course!

Leading up to the start of the 2019 NFL season, Kevin Hanson will use the 2019 Fantasy Football Mock Draft Simulator (powered by FantasyPros) to complete fantasy football mock drafts.

We will use a variety of scoring formats -- PPR, half-PPR, standard scoring and even 2-QB leagues, league sizes and draft slots. The goal is to give you a good representation of the team that you may be able to construct given your league settings and the rationale of why we made the picks we did.

That said, nothing beats practicing yourself so (check out the simulator) and complete a mock in a matter of minutes.

2019 PPR Mock Draft: 12 Teams, 12th Pick

Without further ado, here are the picks of our 12-team 2019 fantasy football mock draft using point-per-reception (PPR) scoring:

1.12 - Le'Veon Bell, RB, New York Jets

Returning to the field after sitting out 2018, Bell trades the high-powered Steelers offense for an improving-but-not-yet-as-potent Jets offense. Bell had a career-high 406 touches, 1,946 scrimmage yards and 11 touchdowns in his most recent season. Duplicating that level of production is unlikely, but I have Bell projected for more than 330 touches, 1,600 yards from scrimmage and 10 total touchdowns.

2.01 - James Conner, RB, Pittsburgh Steelers

Conner missed three games and was less productive in the second half of the season, but he still finished as PPR's RB6. In his first eight games, Conner rushed for 100-plus yards five times and scored multiple touchdowns in four of those games. Especially if he can stay healthy and be more consistent from start to end, the sky's the limit for the Pittsburgh's workhorse back.

3.12 - Marlon Mack, RB, Indianapolis Colts

Missing four games in 2018, Mack has now missed multiple games in each of his first two seasons. Highly productive when he was on the field, however, the second-year back had at least 119 rushing yards and a touchdown (or more) in five of his final 12 games counting the playoffs. During that 12-game span, Mack scored 11 total touchdowns. Running behind one of the league's best offensive lines, Mack has legitimate top-five upside despite his late-third draft slot.

4.01 - Brandin Cooks, WR, Los Angeles Rams

No longer with Drew Brees (2016) or Tom Brady (2017), Cooks didn't miss a beat in 2018 with Jared Goff as he had 80 catches for a career-high 1,204 yards and five touchdowns in his first season with the Rams.

5.12 - Robby Anderson, WR, New York Jets

Anderson's numbers were down year-over-year, but he finished strong when Sam Darnold returned from a foot injury. Over the final four games of the season, Anderson had 23 catches for 336 yards and three touchdowns. During that span, Anderson was the WR6 in PPR. With improvement and more consistency from Darnold, Anderson has upside even if I'd ideally prefer him to be my WR3.

6.01 - O.J. Howard, TE, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Injury has cut each of his first two seasons short, but Howard has averaged exactly 16.6 yards per reception in both of those seasons. Extrapolating last year's production over 16 games, Howard would have posted a 54/904/8 stat line. Howard is the clear-cut next-best option after the top three in my early 2019 fantasy projections. As Jameis Winston says, the "moon" is the limit for the third-year tight end.

7.12 - Cam Newton, QB, Carolina Panthers

From 2011 (his rookie season) through 2017, Newton had finished as a top-four fantasy quarterback in five of seven seasons. A shoulder injury slowed and eventually sidelined him down the stretch last season, but Newton was third in fantasy points through Week 13. Newton was the ninth QB off the board in this mock and he's currently the QB5 in my rankings.

8.01 - Tarik Cohen, RB, Chicago Bears

More efficient (10.2 Y/R, 4.5 YPC) on his opportunities with eight total touchdowns in 2018, Cohen may see a dip in 2019 workload with the addition of David Montgomery as a more versatile lead back. Cohen was PPR's RB11 last season and is a top-25 PPR option in my current rankings.

9.12 - DaeSean Hamilton, WR, Denver Broncos

Over each of the final four games of last season, Hamilton had at least eight targets, five receptions and 40 yards and was fantasy's WR22 in PPR during that four-game stretch. Of the team's top three receivers, Hamilton has the potential for the biggest year-over-year improvement and it wouldn't be a surprise if he finished as the team's most productive wideout when the season is over.

10.01 - Rashaad Penny, RB, Seattle Seahawks

In better shape than last year, Penny was on the short end of last year's 74-26 split in workload with Chris Carson, but that margin should narrow in 2019. Earlier this year, coach Pete Carroll said of the Carson-Penny duo that "I don't know who's one and who's two, it doesn't matter to me." Given his first-round pedigree, Penny has enormous upside in Seattle's run-first attack even if he enters the season as Carson's backup.

11.12 - Jamison Crowder, WR, New York Jets

Crowder missed a significant portion of last season and his per-game numbers weren't great. Provided he maintains good health and Darnold takes a step forward, he should be able to return to his 2016/17 level of production.

12.01 - Mohamed Sanu, WR, Atlanta Falcons

Sanu set a career high in receiving yards (838) in 2018 and just missed another in receptions (66, career high: 67). Sanu adds some depth as my WR5 and could be productive during the byes.

13.12 - Robert Foster, WR, Buffalo Bills

A big play waiting to happen, Foster had at least 50 receiving yards and/or a touchdown in six of his final seven games last season. In fact, he had three 100-yard games over that stretch and was one of just nine players to do during that span.

14.01 - Jacksonville Jaguars D/ST

15.12 - Lamar Jackson, QB, Baltimore Ravens

Starting just seven (regular-season) games last season, Jackson led the team in rush attempts (147) and was second in rushing yards (695). Even though eked out only one 200-yard passing game (204 in Week 16), Jackson scored the eighth-most fantasy points per contest during his seven-week stretch as starter.

Excluding the season that Andrew Luck missed, Hilton has five consecutive seasons over 1,000 yards. Hilton missed two games last season and dealt with a high-ankle sprain down the stretch, but he set career highs with 10.6 yards per target, 90.7 yards per game and a catch rate of 63.3 percent. The only drawback with the 5-foot-10 receiver is that he has never had more than seven touchdowns in any of his seven seasons.

The Colts target their tight ends often in the red zone, but Funchess gives Andrew Luck a TE-sized receiver. Only 25 years old and just two seasons removed from a top-25 season, Funchess will help Luck more than he'll be a viable fantasy option on his own outside of deeper leagues.

2018 Fantasy Football Projections: Indianapolis Colts

In addition to viewing our 2018 Fantasy Football Projections by position, we will post our preseason projections per team.

It will be more than 600 days in between regular-season games and it's been an up-and-down preseason for Luck. The good news, however, is that he's back on the field and he ended the preseason with a strong performance against the 49ers. There is some obvious risk with Luck but also plenty of upside going into 2018. In his past three full seasons, Luck has finished as fantasy's QB4 (2013), QB2 (2014) and QB4 (2016).
