Brock Purdy: Purdy had a down year in 2024 but still finished as the QB10 on a points-per-game basis (18.6). Compared to career rates (in parenthesis), Purdy's 65.9% completion rate (67.5%), 4.4 TD% (6.0%), and 8.5 Y/A (8.9) were all lower in 2024. Yes, Deebo Samuel now plays for the Washington Commanders and Brandon Aiyuk, Jauan Jennings and nearly every other receiver not named Ricky Pearsall seem to have injury designations (or a suspension), but Purdy is a value when comparing my projections/rankings to his current ADP.

Baker Mayfield: Mayfield set career highs in passing yards (4,500) and touchdowns (41), although he also led the NFL in interceptions (16). That said, he finished as fantasy's QB4 in 2024 after finishing as the QB10 in his first season with the Bucs. Only Lamar Jackson (16) had more QB1 finishes last season than Mayfield (13). While he'll have his third offensive coordinator in as many seasons, new OC Josh Grizzard was the passing game coordinator for Liam Coen, who's now Jacksonville's head coach. First-round pick Emeka Egbuka should make a significant and immediate impact, but regression and injuries/rehabs for left tackle Tristan Wirfs and wide receivers Chris Godwin and Jalen McMillan to start the season could lead to a disappointing season compared to his fantasy ADP.

Bryce Young: Young was benched after a terrible start through the first two weeks last season (only 225 passing yards, 4.01 Y/A, no touchdowns and three interceptions). He didn't start again until Week 8, but he played much better, especially over the final three games (64.8%, 7.0 Y/A, seven touchdowns and no interceptions). After Carolina's Week 11 bye, Young was the QB8 in fantasy PPG (21.2) through the end of the season.

Drake Maye: Could Maye breakout in 2025? There are plenty of positive signs. The Patriots bolstered their pass protection and pass-catching weapons via free agency and the NFL draft including Stefon Diggs, LSU's Will Campbell (Round 1), Ohio State's TreVeyon Henderson (Round 2), and Washington State's Kyle Williams (Round 3). Considering his rushing ability, Maye's floor is high even with a run-heavy approach under Mike Vrabel, but the improvement in offensive firepower gives him more upside as a passer in year two.

2025 Fantasy Football Mock Drafts

The best way to become good at something is to practice. So, what should you do if you want to draft a better fantasy football team?

Practice, of course!

Leading up to the start of the 2025 NFL season, we will use the fantasy football mock draft simulator to complete fantasy football mock drafts. And we will do so using a variety of scoring formats — point per reception (PPR), half-PPR, standard scoring and even 2-QB leagues — and league sizes. The goal is to provide you with a good representation of the team that you may be able to draft given your league settings while also providing the rationale of why we made the picks we did.

That said, nothing beats practicing yourself so (check out the simulator) and complete a mock in a matter of minutes.

2025 Fantasy Football Mock Draft: 12-Team Half-PPR Mock (2nd Pick)

Starting positions: 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 Flex (RB/WR/TE), 1 K, 1 DST; Bench spots: 6

1.02 - Bijan Robinson, RB, Atlanta Falcons

You could argue that Robinson (not Saquon Barkley) should be the RB1 in 2025 fantasy football drafts, especially considering Barkley's historic 2024 volume (most combined regular-season and playoff touches in a decade). The 23-year-old running back racked up 1,887 scrimmage yards and scored 15 total touchdowns on 365 touches including 61 receptions. From Week 6 on, Robinson averaged more fantasy points per game (21.1) than all other running backs. During that 12-game span, he averaged 19.8/97.6 rushing, 3.6/23.3 receiving and scored 14 total touchdowns.

2.11 - Ladd McConkey, WR, Los Angeles Chargers

McConkey finished as a top-12 fantasy wide receiver (the WR16 on per-game basis among those who played at least eight games) in 2024 and he was especially productive from Week 8 on. Over his final 11 games including the team's playoff loss, he racked up 67 catches for 1,082 yards and six touchdowns on 87 targets.

3.02 - Tee Higgins, WR, Cincinnati Bengals

While he would be a WR1 elsewhere, Higgins will continue to benefit from being the 1B to Ja'Marr Chase. While he has missed exactly five games in back-to-back seasons, Higgins finished second (behind Chase) among all wide receivers in fantasy points per game in 2024.

4.11 - DeVonta Smith, WR, Philadelphia Eagles

Smith missed four games in 2024 and while his numbers were down year over year, his per-game averages of 5.2 catches and 64.1 yards were very similar to the averages of his first three seasons (4.8/63.6). Smith finished the year as the WR17 on a per-game basis, and he should continue to be viewed as a mid-tier WR2 in fantasy.

Baker Mayfield: After Tom Brady's (second) retirement, the Bucs find themselves in the unenviable position of having to start Mayfield, who beat out Kyle Trask but is on his fourth team in the past 18 months. The former No. 1 overall draft pick completed only 60% of his pass attempts in 2022 for 2,163 yards (6.5 Y/A), 10 touchdowns and eight interceptions over 12 games. While he's clearly undraftable in standard (one-QB) leagues, he downgrades the outlook for all of the team's pass catchers.

Rachaad White: Once the Buccaneers released Leonard Fournette, who is still a free agent, White immediately moved atop the team's 2023 depth chart. As a 2022 rookie, he had 129 carries for 481 yards (only 3.7 YPC) and a touchdown in addition to 50 receptions for 290 yards and two touchdowns. His best game as a runner (22/105) was coincidentally against the Seattle Seahawks and his new offensive coordinator Dave Canales, who was Seattle's quarterbacks coach last year.

Chase Edmonds: Playing for both the Dolphins and Broncos in 2022, it was a highly disappointing campaign for Edmonds. While he had only 16 catches last season, Edmonds will have a chance to bounce back in that category as he had a combined 96 catches in the previous two seasons.

Chris Godwin: Godwin has missed multiple games in each of the past four seasons. While he set a career high in targets (142) and receptions (104) in 2022 and has reached the 1,000-yard mark in three of his past four seasons, he set a career low in Y/R (9.8) and his three touchdowns were a non-rookie career low. The downgrade at quarterback from Tom Brady to Baker Mayfield will impact Godwin, Mike Evans and the team's passing offense overall.

Mike Evans: Evans extended his 1,000-yard streak to his first nine NFL seasons, which beat his own record in 2022. While the targets (127), receptions (77), yards (1,124) and Y/R (14.6) all look good, he had only six touchdowns, a five-year low, and he wasn't consistent throughout the season. A monster Week 17 game (20/207/3) against Carolina ended an 11-game scoring drought (Weeks 5-16). Evans exceeded 59 yards only once from Weeks 9-16. Even if he extends his 1,000-yard streak, there could be plenty of ups and downs throughout the course of the season given the quarterback downgrade.

Trey Palmer: Russell Gage is out for the season, and Palmer is in the mix to be the team's WR3. Especially in a less-potent 2023 Buccaneers offense, the third receiver likely won't be fantasy-relevant outside of deep leagues, but Palmer (or Deven Thompkins or Rakim Jarrett) will at least be a name to monitor.

Christian McCaffrey: McCaffrey has played just 10 games over the past two seasons combined. In those 10 games, he has averaged 115.9 scrimmage yards, 5.4 receptions and 0.8 touchdowns per game. Before that, CMC led the NFL in scrimmage yards (2,392), touchdowns (19) and touches (403) in 2019 and became the third player in NFL history to reach the 1,000-yard rushing and receiving milestones in the same season. If his health cooperates, he has as high of a ceiling and floor as any running back including Jonathan Taylor.

D.J. Moore: Moore set career highs in both targets (163) and receptions (93) in 2021. While he's been limited to a degree by poor quarterback play, he has exceeded the 1,100-yard mark in three consecutive seasons and I have him projected to finish above that mark in 2022 as well.

Robbie Anderson: Anderson's second season with the Panthers was a huge disappointment as his production plummeted. He finished with 53/519/5 in 17 games in 2021 after posting a 95/1,096/3 line in 2020. Baker Mayfield should help the offense become more efficient than it was in 2021, but there a number of receivers that could cut into Anderson's snaps behind D.J. Moore, the team's unquestioned WR1.

Tommy Tremble: Carolina's tight ends posted modest numbers in 2021, but Tremble led the position group in fantasy production as a rookie. Although he's off the radar in single-TE leagues, the second-year tight end should post even better numbers in 2022 and once again lead the team's position group in production.

Baker Mayfield: Two seasons ago, Mayfield threw for 3,563 yards, 26 touchdowns and only eight interceptions. Things were much different last year, as Mayfield tried to play through injuries that should have kept him on the sidelines, but now the former No. 1 overall pick gets a chance at a fresh start in Carolina. While Matt Rhule hasn't declared the team's regular-season starter, it appears to be his "job to lose."

Sam Darnold: Although still young (recently turned 25), Darnold's career stats through four seasons are not good -- 59.8%, 3.3 TD%, 3.2 INT% and 6.5 Y/A. Even if there really were an open quarterback competition with Mayfield, it's unlikely that Darnold would come out on top.

Matt Corral: Corral slipped to the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft, but he throws with a quick release and has the mobility to extend and make plays. It's unlikely that Corral will make starts as a rookie, barring injury, until the Panthers are out of playoff contention.

D.J. Moore: Moore set career highs in both targets (163) and receptions (93) in 2021. While he's been limited to a degree by poor quarterback play, he has exceeded the 1,100-yard mark in three consecutive seasons and I have him projected to finish above that mark in 2022 as well.

Robbie Anderson: Anderson's second season with the Panthers was a huge disappointment as his production plummeted. He finished with 53/519/5 in 17 games in 2021 after posting a 95/1,096/3 line in 2020. While he suggested he could retire, the addition of Baker Mayfield should only increase his odds to bounce back from last year's dismal performance.

Baker Mayfield: Two seasons ago, Mayfield threw for 3,563 yards, 26 touchdowns and only eight interceptions. Things were much different last year, as Mayfield tried to play through injuries that should have kept him on the sidelines, but now the former No. 1 overall pick gets a chance at a fresh start in Carolina.

Sam Darnold: Although still young (recently turned 25), Darnold's career stats through four seasons are not good -- 59.8%, 3.3 TD%, 3.2 INT% and 6.5 Y/A. Even if there really were an open quarterback competition with Mayfield, it's unlikely that Darnold would come out on top.

Matt Corral: Corral slipped to the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft, but he throws with a quick release and has the mobility to extend and make plays. It's unlikely that Corral will make starts as a rookie, barring injury, until the Panthers are out of playoff contention.

Christian McCaffrey: McCaffrey has played just 10 games over the past two seasons combined. In those 10 games, he has averaged 115.9 scrimmage yards, 5.4 receptions and 0.8 touchdowns per game. Before that, CMC led the NFL in scrimmage yards (2,392), touchdowns (19) and touches (403) in 2019 and became the third player in NFL history to reach the 1,000-yard rushing and receiving milestones in the same season. If his health cooperates, he has as high of a ceiling and floor as any running back.

Cleveland Browns Week 4 NFL Power Rankings Roundup

Throughout the 2021 NFL season, we will compile a consensus NFL Power Rankings that averages the rankings of all 32 NFL teams.

Here is where the Cleveland Browns rank in terms of average, best and worst:

ESPN -- Rank: 6

Despite what his QBR suggests, Baker Mayfield has played well. He has been unlucky with touchdown passes, as the Browns lead the NFL with eight touchdown runs (no other team has more than five). His QBR also is being dragged down by nine sacks; he is last in the sack element that factors into QBR. Considering he also ranks fifth with a completion rate of 73.8% and fourth with 9.75 yards per passing attempt, Mayfield's QBR will be just fine once he eliminates some of those sacks and a few of those Browns scoring runs turn into Mayfield touchdown passes. -- Jake Trotter

The 26-6 final score doesn't reflect just how badly the Browns beat up on the poor Bears. Cleveland was in total control from the opening kickoff, and Myles Garrett set a franchise record with 4.5 sacks, a performance that quiets talk of a slow start by the game's premier defensive end. Justin Fields was under constant duress as Chicago managed a single net yard of passing. The Browns continue to get impact performances from their running game, as well: Kareem Hunt totaled 155 total yards, including the game-sealing touchdown run in the fourth quarter. Then there's Odell Beckham, who made his season debut and looked like himself in a five-catch day. The Browns are in a good place.

CBS Sports -- Rank: 8

The defense came alive against the Bears, with Myles Garrett playing a huge role with 4.5 sacks. At 2-1, they face a tough road trip to Minnesota this week.

USA Today -- Rank: 3

Revamped defense arrived Sunday, posting nine sacks while limiting Chicago to 47 total yards and 1.1 per play. WR Odell Beckham Jr. (87 yards from scrimmage) also apparently arrived. The possibilities for Cleveland remain exciting.

The Athletic -- Rank: 8

Surprise! The Browns have 10 sacks through three games (second in the NFL) after racking up just 38 all of last season. Yes, 4 1/2 of those came from former No. 1 pick Myles Garrett in Sunday's demolition of the Bears, but Jadeveon Clowney (another past No. 1) has two already this season after earning none in eight games last year with the Titans. Pressuring the quarterback and running the ball on offense is a pretty good formula for winter success in the AFC North.

Baker Mayfield: Making major improvements over his 2019 campaign, Mayfield set a career high in passer rating (95.9) and a career low in INT% (1.6%). Outside of a four-game stretch near the end of the season (Weeks 12-15), however, Mayfield's efficiency didn't translate into a usable level of fantasy production.

Mayfield performed as a QB1 (top 12) in all four of those weeks (Weeks 12-15), but he had only one other top-12 weekly finish throughout the rest of the season (Week 7). Over the full season, he finished as fantasy's QB17. Leading a run-first playoff-caliber team likely means another season of modest passing volume that translates into mid-tier QB2-level fantasy production.

Nick Chubb: Despite missing four games, Chubb still finished as fantasy's RB9 in 2020. Chubb has finished second and third in rushing yards per game in 2019 and 2020, respectively. Through his first three seasons, Chubb has never averaged fewer than five yards per carry in a season.

Even with the league's best No. 2 back (Kareem Hunt) on the roster, Chubb has averaged 18.05 touches per game since Hunt returned from his 2019 suspension. Only four teams in the league had a higher rushing play percentage than the Browns in Kevin Stefanski's first year as head coach.

Kareem Hunt: While Chubb (RB9) was a top-10 fantasy running back in 2020, so was Hunt (RB10). Outside of Week 16, Hunt had double-digit touches in all of his other 15 games. Playing in one of the league's most run-heavy offenses, there is enough to go around for both Chubb and Hunt to be top-30 backs.

Odell Beckham: OBJ has now missed at least four games in three of the past four seasons. Since becoming a Brown, Beckham has averaged 4.6 and 3.3 receptions per game in 2019 and 2020, respectively, both of which are the lowest per-game averages of his career. In addition, Beckham's per-game averages of 4.2/58.9/0.3 as a Brown are significantly lower compared to his per-game averages as a Giant (6.6/92.8/0.75).

Jarvis Landry: While he has typically exceeded his preseason expectations, Landry finished 2020 as fantasy's WR36, identical to his final 2020 half-PPR ADP (via Fantasy Football Calculator). Landry set career lows in targets (101) and receptions (72) last season and his yards from scrimmage (850) and total touchdowns (four) were either the lowest or second-lowest of his career. Given that those numbers were mostly without Odell Beckham Jr. (torn ACL), it's unlikely that Landry outperforms last year's modest numbers (by much) in Cleveland's run-first offense.

Donovan Peoples-Jones: People-Jones' has generated plenty of buzz over the past month. The Athletic's Zac Jackson writes that even if DPG is "not ready for an instant breakout in 2021, he's absolutely lighting up training camp." Peoples-Jones may be the team's third-best receiver, but it's questionable whether their run-first approach can really support two fantasy-viable receivers.

Rashard Higgins: Higgins' 2020 averages of 46.1 yards per game, 11.5 yards per target and 16.2 yards per reception all set career highs. That said, Cleveland's run-heavy offense can barely support two fantasy-relevant wide receivers, let alone three (or four), so Higgins will be off the fantasy radar in standard-sized leagues without an injury to OBJ and/or Landry.

Austin Hooper: The team's overall passing volume is modest, but Cleveland's offense is TE-friendly with 27.74% of 2020 targets going to the position. Hooper, who has now missed three games in back-to-back seasons, underwhelmed in his first season in Cleveland as he averaged a career-low 6.2 Y/TGT and 33.5 YPG, a three-year low. With Odell Beckham sidelined (torn ACL), Hooper was more productive down the stretch -- 25/211/3 on 40 targets over his final five games including the playoffs. While OBJ will be back, coach Kevin Stefanski has talked about how Cleveland is "going to grow his role" in the offense in 2021.
