2018 Fantasy Football Projections: Seattle Seahawks

In addition to viewing our 2018 Fantasy Football Projections by position, we will post our preseason projections per team.

Below you will find our 2018 fantasy football projections for the Seattle Seahawks.

PlayerAtt.Comp.YardsTDINTRushYardsTDFLPoints
Russell Wilson526.4325.3381627.610.585.4461.22.62.7298.36
A top-three fantasy quarterback in three of the past four seasons, Wilson has rushed for 2,777 yards and 20 touchdowns in his six NFL seasons. But he's also averaged over 4,000 passing yards over the past three seasons and threw a league-high 34 touchdowns in 2017. Despite his dual-threat abilities, Wilson has never missed an NFL game. So, in other words, he has tons of weekly upside with a solid floor.

Rashaad Penny165717.85.325.9212.40.71127.02
Penny had a good combination of size (5-11, 220) and speed (4.46 forty) before recently ballooning to 236 pounds. Gaining so much weight between the NFL Scouting Combine and the start of the regular season is alarming. Given his draft pedigree, Penny could eventually be used as a three-down back for the Seahawks. For now, however, Chris Carson is clearly ahead of him on the depth chart heading into the 2018 NFL season.
Chris Carson161.8711.95.818.7155.20.60.3124.51
A sleeper pick in 2017, Carson was off to a promising start before his injury forced him to miss the final 12 games of the season. Even though the Seahawks drafted Rashaad Penny in the first round, Carson is still a potential breakout candidate. Penny has missed time with a broken finger, but Carson was already atop the depth chart prior to the injury.

Falling just shy of the 1,000-yard mark last season, Baldwin has 247/3,188/29 over the past three seasons and has finished as the WR7, WR10 and WR13, respectively, in standard-scoring formats over the past three seasons. There was some concern about Baldwin's status for Week 1 earlier on, but Carroll says that he "should be" available for the season opener. That said, Baldwin said his knee will never be 100 percent and that he's currently in the 80-85 percent range.
Tyler Lockett57.3756.44.68.166.40.50.1118.68
Lockett played a full 16-game slate last season, but he was never 100 percent. With Paul Richardson in Washington (D.C.) and the uncertainty of what the Seahawks will get from Brandon Marshall, Lockett has breakout potential in 2018 now that he's healthy.
Brandon Marshall43.6449.15.20000.175.91
Marshall had a 109/1,502/14 season in 2015, but that feels so long ago. There has some positive comments coming out of Seahawks camp regarding Marshall and he could see a decent amount of targets in the red zone.

At least to open training camp, however, it's Chris Carson -- not Penny -- that tops the team's depth chart. 2018 Fantasy Football Half-PPR Mock Draft: 12 Teams, 3rd Pick

As the saying goes, practice makes perfect. While we may not be able to draft a "perfect" fantasy football team, the more we practice, the better our teams will be.

Starting on July 7th, we began drafting (at least) one fantasy football team per day using the 2018 Fantasy Football Mock Draft Simulator and we will continue to do so up until the start of the 2018 NFL season.

Each day, we will switch things up -- e.g., PPR vs. standard scoring, league size, draft slot, 2-QB leagues, auction leagues, etc.

In addition, we will centralize links to our daily fantasy football mock drafts for an easy way to keep track of our mock drafts.

Embed from Getty Images

Details of today's mock draft:
  • Scoring: Half-PPR (point-per-reception) scoring
  • # of Teams: 12
  • Draft Slot: 3
  • Starters: QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, TE, Flex (RB/WR/TE), K, DST
  • Bench Size: 6

With that said, here are the results of today's mock draft:

1.03 - Ezekiel Elliott, RB, Dallas Cowboys: Elliott served a six-game suspension in 2017 but led the league in rushing yards per game (98.3) with a larger workload (24.2 carries per game) in his sophomore campaign. With limited weapons in the passing game, Elliott and the Cowboys will face many eight-men fronts, but the upside is he could get close to 400 touches.

2.10 - Doug Baldwin, WR, Seattle Seahawks: Falling just shy of the 1,000-yard mark last season, Baldwin has 247/3,188/29 over the past three seasons and has finished as the WR7, WR10 and WR13, respectively, in standard-scoring formats over the past three seasons.

3.03 - Jerick McKinnon, RB, San Francisco 49ers: Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee recently wrote: "The over/under on his catches for the season might be 73, the highest number that Devonta Freeman caught when Shanahan was coaching him with the Falcons." Running backs in Kyle Shanahan's offense typically flourish and McKinnon has a ton of upside this year.

4.10 - Demaryius Thomas, WR, Denver Broncos: Thomas is coming off his worst season (83/949/5) since breaking out in 2012. Signing Case Keenum may not return Thomas to the days of 90/1,400/10 numbers he posted from 2012 to 2014, but a bounce-back campaign to the tune of 90 catches and 1,200 yards seems reasonable with steadier quarterback play.

5.03 - Kenyan Drake, RB, Miami Dolphins: Over the final five games of the 2017 season, Drake ran for a league-high 444 yards on 91 carries (4.88 YPC) with two touchdowns and added 17 receptions for 150 yards. Team additions at running back could keep him from getting his December workload (21.6 touches per game), but he's still likely to be the team's most productive back.

6.10 - Rashaad Penny, RB, Seattle Seahawks: My fourth RB selected through six rounds, my RB3 (Drake) and RB4 (Penny) are both worthy of being my RB2.

7.03 - Kyle Rudolph, TE, Minnesota Vikings: Rudolph's targets dropped year over year (132 to 81), but he still finished as fantasy's TE6 (TE8 in PPR) in 2017. He posted a 57/532/8 stat line last season and those numbers form a reasonable expectation for the upcoming season.

8.10 - DeVante Parker, WR, Miami Dolphins: Who knows what we'll get from Parker? I've been too high on the former first-rounder before, but there is certainly upside for the 25-year-old with Jarvis Landry in Cleveland.

9.03 - Rex Burkhead, RB, New England Patriots: Missing six games in his first season with the Patriots, Burkhead scored eight touchdowns as he rushed for 264 yards and added 30 catches for 254 yards. If Burkhead gets the majority of goal-line opportunities, which I expect, there is massive upside in New England's Tom Brady-led high-powered offense.

10.10 - Andrew Luck, QB, Indianapolis Colts: Assuming Luck is under center against the Bengals in Week 1, there is plenty of profit potential this late. In his past three full seasons, Luck has finished as fantasy's QB4 (2013), QB2 (2014) and QB4 (2016).

11.03 - Philip Rivers, QB, Los Angeles Chargers: If he can't stay healthy, Rivers is more than capable of being my every-week starter. Either way, I'd play the matchups with Luck and Rivers. Except for 2012 (21st) and 2016 (14th), Rivers has finished as a top-12 fantasy quarterback in the eight of his past 10 NFL seasons.

12.10 - D.J. Moore, WR, Carolina Panthers: Despite poor quarterback play at Maryland, Moore had a school-record 80 catches for 1,033 yards and eight touchdowns and was named the Big Ten Wide Receiver of the Year last season. The first wide receiver off the board in this year's draft, Moore ran a 4.42 forty with a 39.5-inch vertical and 11-foot broad jump at the NFL Combine, is outstanding after the catch and has gotten off to an impressive start this offseason.

13.03 - Tyler Eifert, TE, Cincinnati Bengals: Over the past four seasons, Eifert has nearly as many touchdowns (18) as games played (24). Durability has been (and still is) the obvious concern, but upside for double-digit scores is a legitimate possibility if he can stay/get healthy.

14.10 - Carolina Panthers D/ST

15.03 - Justin Tucker, K, Baltimore Ravens

2018 Fantasy Football Mock Draft: 14 Teams, Half-PPR, 7th Pick

Details of today's mock draft:
  • Scoring: Half-PPR scoring
  • # of Teams: 14
  • Draft Slot: 7
  • Starters: QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, TE, Flex (RB/WR/TE), K, DST
  • Bench Size: 6

With that said, here are the results of today's mock draft:

1.07 - Saquon Barkley, RB, New York Giants: Over the past two years, a rookie running back -- Ezekiel Elliott (2016) and Kareem Hunt (2017) -- has led the NFL in rushing. Arguably the most talented back to enter the league since Adrian Peterson, Barkley has a rare combination of size (233 pounds) and athleticism (4.4 forty and 41-inch vertical) and was highly productive (3,801 YFS and 43 TDs over past two seasons) at Penn State. The do-it-all back is a top-five fantasy option with legitimate upside to lead the position in fantasy points as a rookie.

2.08 - Doug Baldwin, WR, Seattle Seahawks: Falling just shy of the 1,000-yard mark last season, Baldwin has 247/3,188/29 over the past three seasons and has finished as the WR7, WR10 and WR13, respectively, in standard-scoring formats over the past three seasons.

3.07 - Kenyan Drake, RB, Miami Dolphins: Over the final five games of the 2017 season, Drake ran for a league-high 444 yards on 91 carries (4.88 YPC) with two touchdowns and added 17 receptions for 150 yards. With the Dolphins adding Frank Gore and rookie Kalen Ballage, Drake won't see his December workload (21.6 touches per game) carry over into the 2018 season, but he's a solid RB2 in a 14-team league.

4.08 - Demaryius Thomas, WR, Denver Broncos: DT is coming off his worst season (83/949/5) since breaking out in 2012. Signing Case Keenum may not return Thomas to the days of 90/1,400/10 numbers he posted from 2012 to 2014, but a bounce-back campaign to the tune of 90 catches and 1,200 yards seems reasonable with steadier quarterback play.

5.07 - Rashaad Penny, RB, Seattle Seahawks: With good size (5-11, 220) and speed (4.46 forty), Penny's first-round pedigree means that he should handle the majority of the team's workload early on.

6.08 - Delanie Walker, TE, Tennessee Titans: Extending his streak of 800-yard seasons to four, Walker finished as fantasy's TE7 in his age-33 season. The veteran tight end has finished as a top-12 fantasy tight end in all five of his seasons with the Titans and should do so again.

7.07 - Tevin Coleman, RB, Atlanta Falcons: A nice value in Round 7, Coleman has finished as a top-24 running back and exceeded 900 yards from scrimmage in each of the past two seasons with 19 total touchdowns since 2016.

8.08 - Jordan Reed, TE, Washington Redskins: If he ever puts together a 16-team season, Reed has the potential to lead all tight ends in fantasy points. Unfortunately, he has missed at least four games in four of his five NFL seasons including 10 missed games last season. In his healthiest season (14 games in 2015), Reed had a monster 87/952/11 line.

9.07 - Nick Chubb, RB, Cleveland Browns: Going into the draft, most expected the Browns to take a Chubb. Even though they signed Carlos Hyde to a three-year deal, Chubb could still lead the team in carries although it's unclear how the workload will be allocated between Chubb, Hyde and Duke Johnson.

10.08 - Rishard Matthews, WR, Tennessee Titans: After hauling in 945 yards and nine touchdowns in his first season with the Titans, Matthews posted a 53/795/4 season in 2017. While he will (or should) take a back seat to Davis, Matthews has the potential for another top-40 season.

11.07 - Ben Roethlisberger, QB, Pittsburgh Steelers: Throwing for 3,800-plus yards in each of the past five seasons, Big Ben has thrown 28-plus touchdowns in four of those five seasons. Since being drafted 11th overall in 2004, Roethlisberger has played a 16-game season only three times in his career so there's certainly a strong chance that he'll miss a game or two in 2018. With the league's best RB/WR combo in Le'Veon Bell and Antonio Brown, Roethlisberger has weekly QB1 upside, but he's finished as the QB20, QB13 and QB10 over the past three seasons, respectively.

12.08 - Andrew Luck, QB, Indianapolis Colts: In his past three full seasons, Luck has finished as fantasy's QB4 (2013), QB2 (2014) and QB4 (2016). If he can stay healthy for the entire season, there is plenty of profit potential.

13.07 - Los Angeles Chargers D/ST

14.08 - Stephen Gostkowski, K, New England Patriots

15.07 - Michael Gallup, WR, Dallas Cowboys: Even though the Cowboys waited until the third round to select Gallup, it's possible that the PFF favorite leads all rookie wide receivers in production given the team's lack of playmakers.

2018 Fantasy Football Projections: Seattle Seahawks

In addition to viewing our 2018 Fantasy Football Projections by position, we will post our preseason projections per team.

Below you will find our 2018 fantasy football projections for the Seattle Seahawks.

Quarterbacks

Russell Wilson529328386228.610.683.2449.32.12.7299.81
A top-three fantasy quarterback in three of the past four seasons, Wilson has rushed for 2,777 yards and 20 touchdowns in his six NFL seasons. But he's also averaged over 4,000 passing yards over the past three seasons and threw for a league-high 34 touchdowns in 2017. Despite his dual-threat abilities, Wilson has never missed an NFL game. So, in other words, he has tons of weekly upside with a solid floor.

Running Backs

PlayerAtt.YardsTDRec.YardsTDFLPoints
Rashaad Penny226.9998.47.927.7227.10.71.2171.75
The Seahawks used the 27th overall pick on Penny, which (of course) virtually assures that he'll be the team's featured back. With good size (5-11, 220) and speed (4.46 forty), Penny could be used as a three-down back by the Seahawks.
Chris Carson73.6331.22.211.494.60.30.257.18
If it weren't for the Seahawks using their first-round pick on Penny, Carson would have plenty of breakout potential following an injury-shortened 2017 that saw him assume lead-back responsbilities early in the season.

Wide Receivers

PlayerRec.YardsTDRushYardsTDFLPoints
Doug Baldwin80.71045.17.31.32.900.2148.2
Falling just shy of the 1,000-yard mark last season, Baldwin has 247/3,188/29 over the past three seasons and has finished as the WR7, WR10 and WR13, respectively, in standard-scoring formats over the past three seasons.
Tyler Lockett52.9698.34.27.964.80.50.1110.31
Lockett played a full 16-game slate last season, but he was never himself although he's now 100 percent. With Paul Richardson in Washington (D.C.) and the uncertainty of what the Seahawks will get from Brandon Marshall, Lockett has breakout potential in 2018.
Brandon Marshall28285.62.80000.145.16
Marshall had a 109/1,502/14 season in 2015, but that feels so long ago. Signing a one-year deal with the Seahawks, Marshall isn't a lock to make the roster and (if he does) his fantasy outlook isn't all that appealing.
Amara Darboh27.1265.62.20000.139.56

Tight Ends

PlayerRec.YardsTDRushYardsTDFLPoints
Ed Dickson32.24253.20000.161.5
With Jimmy Graham in Green Bay, Dickson signed a free-agent deal to replace him atop Seattle's depth chart. Graham had double-digit touchdowns last year and over 900 yards the year prior. Even so, expectations for Dickson, Nick Vannett or any of Seattle's tight ends are modest.
