QUARTERBACKS

PlayerAtt.Comp.YardsTDINTRushYardsTDPoints
Derek Carr561.2384.44293.225.8210.6642.3126.91.06272.74
Jarrett Stidham42.227291.21.771.313.73.70.0416.72

Derek Carr: Perennially undervalued, Carr has been one of my favorite targets in 2-QB leagues given his relatively high floor as a second quarterback. Since entering the league in 2014, Carr has never finished worse than QB20 and he's finished as a top-half QB2 (QB13-QB18) or better in six of the past seven seasons with the exception being a QB19 finish in 2017. Reunited with his former Fresno State teammate (Davante Adams), Carr is a legitimate threat to finish as a top-12 fantasy quarterback, even if he's not drafted as such.

RUNNING BACKS

PlayerAtt.YardsTDRec.YardsTDPoints
Josh Jacobs192.1797.26.2429213.21.3160.78
Kenyan Drake82.3345.72.4731.3247.61.8100.6
Zamir White128.1550.82.5613.2103.10.892.15
Jakob Johnson1.13.30.034.132.10.26.97
Brandon Bolden4.6200.142.518.30.16.52

Josh Jacobs: Jacobs set career lows in rush attempts (217) and rushing yards (872) but career highs in targets (64), receptions (54) and receiving yards (348) in 2021. Through three seasons, Jacobs has yet to finish worse than RB18 in half-PPR scoring, but a new coaching staff is likely to use more of a "situational committee" at the position.

Kenyan Drake: Both Jacobs and Drake are entering contract years, and there's a good chance that neither will be on the roster in 2023. While the Raiders will employ a committee approach in the backfield, Drake has the versatility to be used in a James White-type role for McDaniels.

Zamir White: The Raiders used a fourth-round pick on White, who would likely handle the majority of early-down work if Jacobs were to miss any time. The Athletic's Vic Tafur wrote that "there is probably a decent chance" that the coaching staff "already think[s] White is better than them" (Jacobs and Drake). White is a late-round sleeper worth stashing in all of your fantasy drafts.

WIDE RECEIVERS

PlayerRec.YardsTDRushYardsTDPoints
Davante Adams94.21180.57.4000209.55
Hunter Renfrow80.2873.35.23.214.40.03160.25
Demarcus Robinson22.6263.61.700047.86
Mack Hollins18.5231.51.300040.2
Keelan Cole13.4162.70.800027.77

Davante Adams: Adams has been an elite producer in Green Bay, especially over the past two seasons. In 30 games over the past two seasons, Adams has 238 receptions for 2,927 yards and 29 touchdowns. Adams has scored double-digit touchdowns in five of the past six seasons. While he's reunited with his former collegiate quarterback, the downgrade from Aaron Rodgers to Derek Carr and increased competition for targets means that Adams is now a WR1, as opposed to the WR1.

Hunter Renfrow: Renfrow crushed previous career highs with 103 catches for 1,038 yards and nine touchdowns on 128 targets in 2021. Carr and Renfrow have developed tremendous chemistry, but the addition of Adams should make repeating those numbers extremely difficult. On a positive note, however, Josh McDaniels has a history of very productive slot receivers from his days in New England.

TIGHT ENDS

PlayerRec.YardsTDRushYardsTDPoints
Darren Waller79.4987.95.2000169.69
Foster Moreau18.7226.91.400040.44
Jacob Hollister4.343.60.30008.31

Darren Waller: Waller is one of the most dynamic mismatches at his position, who had a massive 27.7% target share in his last full season (2020). While he missed six games in 2021, he has averaged 69.9 yards per game since 2019. Given the Raiders traded for Davante Adams this offseason, however, Waller's days of oversized target shares are likely over even though he's still a top-five option, at worst.

2021 Fantasy Football Projections: New York Jets

Our 2021 Fantasy Football Projections will be viewable by both position and team.

QUARTERBACKS

Mike White36.222.4253.41.30.943.36.90.0714.57

Zach Wilson: Selected second overall in the 2021 draft, Wilson may be off the redraft radar outside of two-QB leagues, but his arm talent, mobility and improvisational skills could lead to some streaming potential as a rookie. In addition, Wilson may often find himself in a game script-positive situation for his weekly fantasy outlook. Meanwhile, Robert Saleh has described his preparation and study habits as being "light years ahead of normal rookies."

RUNNING BACKS

La'Mical Perine35.5143.80.837.452.40.330.1

Michael Carter: The Jets figure to employ a running back by committee approach and that could frustrate fantasy managers that roster Carter, who should be the 1(a) of that RBBC. The rookie out of UNC averaged 8.0 YPC as a senior and finished his collegiate career with 82 receptions.

Tevin Coleman: Injuries have limited Coleman during his two seasons with the 49ers as he has played only 36% and 6% of the offensive snaps in 2019 and 2020, respectively. That said, he brings with him knowledge of the system and familiarity with the coaches that Robert Saleh brought with him from San Francisco.

WIDE RECEIVERS

Denzel Mims16.62421.600042.1
Braxton Berrios2.326.20.10004.37

Corey Davis: Davis had a career-best season in 2020 (65/984/5, 15.1 Y/R). Transitioning to a new offense with a new coaching staff and a rookie quarterback, Davis may be the team's WR1, but it will likely be difficult to improve upon last year's success.

Elijah Moore: Mostly aligning in the slot at Mississippi, Moore, the 34th-overall pick this year, broke A.J. Brown's single-season reception record last season. It would make sense for the Jets to part ways with Jamison Crowder, but Moore has the potential to excel both inside and out.

Jamison Crowder: With the Jets drafting Moore, many expected to the Jets to part ways with Crowder, who has since taken a massive pay cut. In his two seasons with the Jets, Crowder has averaged a receiving line of 4.9/54.7/0.43 on 7.54 targets per game.

Jamison Crowder: Crowder took a massive pay cut and perhaps that eventually leads to a trade given that the Jets used an early second-round pick on Elijah Moore. In his two seasons with the Jets, Crowder has averaged 4.9/54.7/0.43 on 7.54 targets per game.

Jacksonville Jaguars 2019 Fantasy Football Projections

In addition to viewing our 2019 Fantasy Football Projections by position, we will post our preseason projections per team.

Below you will find our 2019 fantasy football projections for the Jacksonville Jaguars.

QUARTERBACKS

PlayerAtt.Comp.YardsTDINTRushYardsTDPoints
Nick Foles542.6344.63825.320.0811.3937.478.50.37220.62
Now on his fourth NFL club, Foles is a fringe QB2 in two-QB fantasy leagues, but his signing provides a boost for Jacksonville's skill-position players. During his five seasons with the Jags, no quarterback has thrown more interceptions (75) or pick-sixes (13) than Blake Bortles, who has completed just 59.3 of his career pass attempts. Cutting down the number of drive-killing drives should especially help Leonard Fournette and the team's run-first offense.

Leonard Fournette281.31097.19.8546.5390.61.4216.27
Durability (11 missed games in two seasons) and inefficiency (career 3.7 YPC) are negatives, but there are some reasons for optimism. A true workhorse, Fournette has averaged nearly 20 carries per game (19.09) when he's been active and the team should sustain more drives with improved quarterback play. Not only did their offensive line battle a bunch of injuries last season, they got a steal with right tackle Jawaan Taylor in the second round. Plus, Fournette could be more involved in the passing game as well.

WIDE RECEIVERS

PlayerRec.YardsTDRushYardsTDPoints
Dede Westbrook70.6811.95.34.725.90115.58
In a healthy sophomore campaign, Westbrook led the Jags with a 66/717/5 receiving line on 101 targets and added 98 rushing yards. Despite quality quarterback play, Westbrook still managed to finish as a top-35 wide receiver in 2018. Given the upgrade at quarterback, Westbrook is a nice value that should outperform his current ADP (WR48 at FFC).
Marqise Lee66831.63.3746.20107.58
Lee missed all of 2018 and it's possible that he won't be ready for the start of training camp. That said, his 2019 status for the opener doesn't appear to be in jeopardy. A potential slow start as he returns from his ACL tear combined with his lack of touchdowns (eight in 53 games) means he's not much more than a low-upside WR4 despite the upgrade at quarterback.
Chris Conley35.9409.32.8700058.15

Josh Oliver24266.41.4400035.28
While rookie tight ends tend to struggle, the Jags used a top-70 selection on Oliver, who has earned some praise from the coaching staff during offseason workouts. Given the lack of competition on the roster, Oliver appears to be the odds-on favorite to lead the position group in fantasy points, but he's unlikely to be a useful fantasy asset in 2019 outside of really deep leagues.

2018 Fantasy Football WR Waiver-Wire Options Heading Into Week 3

Every week, we examine players that may be available on your league's waiver wire that could help your team in the short and/or long term.

For a player to be listed, he must be owned in 50 percent (or less) of Yahoo! leagues. The goal is to provide recommendations of players that have a greater chance of being available on your league's waiver wire. Of course, your league's size and settings could significantly impact whether these players (or better options) are available in your particular league(s).

With that said, here are some wide receiver waiver-wire options that I like heading into Week 3 (Yahoo! ownership in parenthesis):

[Note: Players listed below are sorted by my preference to add.]

1. Keelan Cole, Jacksonville Jaguars (49 percent)

With the catch of the year (so far), Cole was a big part of Jacksonville's win over New England as he finished with 7/116/1 on eight targets. Going back to last season, Cole has at least 99 yards in four of his past six regular-season games and eight-plus targets in four of the past five. Fantasy owners shouldn't expect 100-plus yards and a score every week, but I expect his number of useful outings to exceed the number of disappointing outings for the talented second-year receiver.

2. John Brown, Baltimore Ravens (25 percent)

A few years removed from a 1,000-yard season (2015), Brown appears poised to have his best season since his breakout campaign. Averaging a career-high 19.4 yards per reception in his first season with the Ravens, Brown has a total of seven catches for a team-high 136 yards and two touchdowns on 14 targets. While newcomers Michael Crabtree and Willie Snead also have 14-plus targets so far, Brown should be owned in way more than one-quarter of Yahoo! leagues.

3(a). DeSean Jackson, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (50 percent)

Apparently the best thing to happen to Jackson was the three-game suspension of Jameis Winston. With Winston out and Ryan Fitzpatrick going 400/4 in back-to-back games, D-Jax has reached the 100-yard mark with scores each week. On the year, he has caught all nine targets for 275 yards and three touchdowns and is currently a top-three receiver in both PPR and standard-scoring formats. Sure to disappoint at some point as a boom-or-bust option, he may have a couple more good outings with Fitzpatrick under center for at least one more week.

3(b). Chris Godwin, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (35 percent)

When given the opportunity, Godwin has been productive. As a rookie, he closed the season with a 26/442/1 (17.0 Y/R) second-half line including 68-plus yards in three of his final four games. Making "a lot of plays everyday" in the offseason, the second-year wide receiver was a sleeper that entered 2018 as a breakout candidate. Off to a good start in 2018, Godwin had 3/41/1 and 5/56/1 in the first two games.

In terms of Week 3 outlook, I'd prefer Jackson over Godwin. In terms of rest-of-season outlook, I'd prefer Godwin over Jackson.

5. Antonio Callaway, Cleveland Browns (seven percent)

With Josh Gordon traded to the Patriots for a fifth-round pick, that elevates Callaway to the No. 2 wide receiver role next to Jarvis Landry. After a catch-less one-target Week 1, Callaway had three second-half receptions for 81 yards and a touchdown against the Saints in Week 2. As is typical with all rookie receivers, there will be some inconsistency on a weekly basis, but Callaway has the talent to have a few big games.

6. Geronimo Allison, Green Bay Packers (31 percent)

Even with Davante Adams, Randall Cobb and tight end Jimmy Graham ahead of him for targets most weeks, Allison now has 11 catches for 133 yards and a touchdown on 14 targets. Assuming that Aaron Rodgers stays healthy (or at least healthy enough to play), Allison will have fantasy value.

7. Tyler Boyd, Cincinnati Bengals (two percent)

While A.J. Green scored a trio of touchdowns on Thursday night, Boyd had six catches on nine targets for 91 yards, all of which were team highs, and a touchdown. At a minimum, I'd prefer Boyd over second-year receiver John Ross and he's at least someone to watch, especially for PPR owners.

Jacksonville Jaguars 2018 Fantasy Football Projections

In addition to viewing our 2018 Fantasy Football Projections by position, we will post our preseason projections per team.

Below you will find our 2018 fantasy football projections for the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Quarterbacks

PlayerAtt.Comp.YardsTDINTRushYardsTDFLPoints
Blake Bortles537.3326.73842221453.2313.92.13.5250.67
In an ideal world (according to Doug Marrone), Bortles may not throw a single pass all season. In his first full season as head coach, however, the Jags were perfectly balanced -- 527 pass attempts and 527 rush attempts -- with Bortles throwing it more than 100 times less in 2017 than 2016. Despite five interceptions in the last two regular-season games, Bortles played extremely well down the stretch with multiple passing scores and 300-plus yards in three of the four games through Week 16. Over the past three seasons, Bortles has finished as the QB4 (2015), QB10 (2016) and QB13 (2017) and he has the potential to once again outperform his ADP.

Leonard Fournette318.51385.510.235.3282.41.20.5234.19
Missing three games as a rookie, Fournette was less than 100 percent for several others but managed to finish as fantasy's RB8 (RB10 in PPR) in Jacksonville's run-first scheme. Down to his lowest weight (223 pounds) since high school, Fournette's drop in weight should help with explosiveness and durability. An NFL rushing champion-to-be based on my statistical projections, Fournette could be even more involved in the passing game in 2018 as well.
T.J. Yeldon81.9356.31.939.7287.81.20.981.21
Better in PPR formats, Yeldon had four-plus catches in four of his 10 games played, but he should cede some work to Corey Grant in the competition for non-Fournette running back touches.
Corey Grant56.3275.92.311.71100.70.755.19
OC Nathaniel Hackett has talked up Grant, calling him a "major change-of-pace back." Grant has just 68 career rush attempts, but he has averaged 6.1 YPC as well as 9.9 Y/R on his nine career receptions.

Keelan Cole50.4730.84.50000.898.48
A late-season waiver-wire gem, Cole delivered several big fantasy performances down the stretch last year. From Weeks 13 to 16, Cole had either 100-plus yards and/or a touchdown in all four games with a total of 19 catches for 442 yards (23.26 Y/R) and three touchdowns during that span. With the season-ending injury to Marqise Lee, Cole should be the team's most-productive fantasy wide receiver.
Donte Moncrief45.2569.55.40000.288.95
Still only 25 years old, Moncrief received a one-year, $9.6 million deal from the Jaguars in free agency. Limited due to injuries (11 missed games over the past two seasons), Moncrief has an impressive combination of size and athleticism.
Dede Westbrook46.6596.53.70000.181.65
As a rookie, Westbrook had 27 catches for 339 yards and a touchdown over seven games. There should be an opportunity for him to improve last year's numbers on a per-game basis in his second season.

T.J. Yeldon80.9351.91.839.7287.81.20.980.17
Better in PPR formats, Yeldon had four-plus catches in four of his 10 games played, but he should cede some work to Corey Grant in the competition for non-Fournette running back touches.
Corey Grant51.2250.929.892.10.60.748.5
OC Nathaniel Hackett has talked up Grant, calling him a "major change-of-pace back." Grant has just 68 career rush attempts, but he has averaged 6.1 YPC as well as 9.9 Y/R on his nine career receptions.

Marqise Lee58.3746.23.82.619.500.298.97
Re-signed to a four-year deal, Lee enters the season as the team's top returning wideout. Over an eight-game stretch from Weeks 6 to 14 before getting hurt in Week 15, Lee averaged 5.13 catches for 61.75 yards on 8.25 targets per game with three touchdowns over that span.
Donte Moncrief40.6511.64.90000.280.16
Still only 25 years old, Moncrief received a one-year, $9.6 million deal from the Jaguars in free agency. Limited due to injuries (11 missed games over the past two seasons), Moncrief has an impressive combination of size and athleticism and will likely start opposite Marqise Lee.
Keelan Cole39.5572.83.60000.877.28
A late-season waiver-wire gem, Cole delivered several big fantasy performances down the stretch last year. From Weeks 13 to 16, Cole had either 100-plus yards and/or a touchdown in all four games with a total of 19 catches for 442 yards (23.26 Y/R) and three touchdowns during that span.
Dede Westbrook41.9536.33.40000.173.83
As a rookie, Westbrook had 27 catches for 339 yards and a touchdown over seven games. There should be an opportunity for him to improve last year's numbers on a per-game basis in his second season.

2018 Fantasy Football Projections: Jacksonville Jaguars

In addition to viewing our 2018 Fantasy Football Projections by position, we will post our preseason projections per team.

Below you will find our 2018 fantasy football projections for the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Quarterbacks

PlayerAtt.Comp.YardsTDINTRushYardsTDFLPoints
Blake Bortles527.4323.3379722.713.254.1319.22.23.4254.6
In an ideal world (according to Doug Marrone), Bortles may not throw a single pass all season. In Marrone's first full season as head coach, however, the Jags were balanced -- 527 pass attempts and 527 rush attempts -- with Bortles throwing it more than 100 times less in 2017 than 2016.

With the league's best defense and a run-first offensive philosophy, the workhorse back has a chance to lead the NFL in carries if he can stay healthy for a full season.
