Matthew Stafford: There were concerns with Stafford and his elbow heading into the 2022 season, and the veteran quarterback managed to appear in only nine games due to a spinal cord contusion. Stafford threw 10 touchdowns (3.3 TD%, his lowest since 2012) and eight interceptions and averaged 6.9 yards per attempt (lowest since 2018) with an 87.4 passer rating (lowest since 2014). Stafford is in a better place to start training camp this year, saying that he "feel(s) a lot better physically." If he can stay healthy in 2023, how close will he be to the 2021 version who led the Rams to the Super Bowl and finished as a top-five fantasy quarterback?

Cam Akers: While he missed nearly all of 2021 with a torn Achilles, Akers has gone from workhorse to the coach's doghouse and back to workhorse, when healthy. Much of Akers' 2022 production came in the final six weeks of the season when he finished with 104 carries for 512 yards (4.92 YPC) and six touchdowns and 11 receptions for 99 yards on 12 targets.

Kyren Williams: Small (5-9 and 194 pounds) and slow (4.65 40-yard dash) by NFL standards, Williams profiles as a change-of-pace option for Akers who also has a shot to lead the team's running backs in receptions.

Zach Evans: While the former five-star recruit slipped to the sixth round in this year's draft and was behind true freshman Quinshon Judkins on the Ole Miss 2022 depth chart, Evans isn't the worst late-round dart throw in best ball drafts given the recent usage history of Rams running backs.

Cooper Kupp: Kupp pulled off the rare triple crown of receiving in 2021, finishing with 145 catches for 1,947 yards and 16 touchdowns. While he missed roughly half of his follow-up season, the 2021 NFL Offensive Player of the Year had a better season than maybe most realized.

Who led ALL receivers in half-PPR fantasy points scored in 2022 on a per-game basis? Yep, it was Kupp — not Justin Jefferson, or any other receiver. Kupp is at full strength heading into 2023, and he should be one of the first few receivers off the board.

Van Jefferson: Jefferson is an uninspiring WR5 in fantasy. Making his season debut in Week 8 (and playing mostly when Kupp was out), Jefferson had only 24 catches for 369 yards and three touchdowns in nine games last season.

Tyler Higbee: Higbee set career highs in targets (108, fourth-most among TEs) and receptions (72, fifth) in 2022. While Cooper Kupp missed nearly half of the season, Higbee's per-game numbers were actually better with Kupp (4.9/43 on 7.2 targets) than without Kupp (3.5/29 on 5.4 targets). At a position where volume is inconsistent outside of the elite options, there is value in the consistency of Higbee's volume.

Las Vegas Raiders Fantasy Football Projections 2022

Derek Carr: Perennially undervalued, Carr has been one of my favorite targets in 2-QB leagues given his relatively high floor as a second quarterback. Since entering the league in 2014, Carr has never finished worse than QB20 and he's finished as a top-half QB2 (QB13-QB18) or better in six of the past seven seasons with the exception being a QB19 finish in 2017. Reunited with his former Fresno State teammate (Davante Adams), Carr is a legitimate threat to finish as a top-12 fantasy quarterback, even if he's not drafted as such.

Josh Jacobs: Jacobs set career lows in rush attempts (217) and rushing yards (872) but career highs in targets (64), receptions (54) and receiving yards (348) in 2021. Through three seasons, Jacobs has yet to finish worse than RB18 in half-PPR scoring, but a new coaching staff is likely to use more of a "situational committee" at the position.

Kenyan Drake: Both Jacobs and Drake are entering contract years, and there's a good chance that neither will be on the roster in 2023. While the Raiders will employ a committee approach in the backfield, Drake has the versatility to be used in a James White-type role for McDaniels.

Zamir White: The Raiders used a fourth-round pick on White, who would likely handle the majority of early-down work if Jacobs were to miss any time. The Athletic's Vic Tafur wrote that "there is probably a decent chance" that the coaching staff "already think[s] White is better than them" (Jacobs and Drake). White is a late-round sleeper worth stashing in all of your fantasy drafts.

Davante Adams: Adams has been an elite producer in Green Bay, especially over the past two seasons. In 30 games over the past two seasons, Adams has 238 receptions for 2,927 yards and 29 touchdowns. Adams has scored double-digit touchdowns in five of the past six seasons. While he's reunited with his former collegiate quarterback, the downgrade from Aaron Rodgers to Derek Carr and increased competition for targets means that Adams is now a WR1, as opposed to the WR1.

Hunter Renfrow: Renfrow crushed previous career highs with 103 catches for 1,038 yards and nine touchdowns on 128 targets in 2021. Carr and Renfrow have developed tremendous chemistry, but the addition of Adams should make repeating those numbers extremely difficult. On a positive note, however, Josh McDaniels has a history of very productive slot receivers from his days in New England.

Darren Waller: Waller is one of the most dynamic mismatches at his position, who had a massive 27.7% target share in his last full season (2020). While he missed six games in 2021, he has averaged 69.9 yards per game since 2019. Given the Raiders traded for Davante Adams this offseason, however, Waller's days of oversized target shares are likely over even though he's still a top-five option, at worst.

Patrick Mahomes: Mahomes is my top-ranked fantasy quarterback given the combination of elite skill set, supporting cast and coaching. The only real decision for fantasy managers is whether or not to invest the early draft capital necessary to secure Mahomes (or another high-end quarterback) as their starter. Leading the NFL with 316.0 passing yards per game, Mahomes was only a 260/2 game away from a second 5,000/40 season before the Chiefs rested him in Week 17.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire: Given how productive a third-round rookie (Kareem Hunt) had been in Andy Reid's offense just a few seasons ago (2017), Edwards-Helaire, the only first-round running back in the 2020 NFL Draft, was a relative disappointment despite a couple of big performances in the first half of last season. Even so, he has the skill set and draft pedigree to be much more productive in Kansas City's high-powered offense this season than he was as a rookie and could turn out to be a draft-day bargain.

Darrel Williams: Williams is a high-upside handcuff for Clyde Edwards-Helaire. If CEH were to miss any time, Williams would immediately become an RB2 in Kansas City's high-powered offense.

Tyreek Hill: Few players at any position have as much upside as Hill to erupt for a massive performance in any given week. Setting a career high in touchdowns (17), Hill had 87 receptions for 1,276 yards and 13 carries for 123 yards in 2020.

Mecole Hardman: Many fantasy managers expected Hardman to take a step forward in his sophomore campaign, but his year-over-year production was nearly identical -- 26/538/6 (20.7 Y/R) in 2019 and 41/560/4 (13.7 Y/R) in 2020. With Sammy Watkins now in Baltimore and no significant additions to the receiving corps, Hardman offers upside at his late-round ADP.

Demarcus Robinson: Given that Hardman has yet to deliver for fantasy managers, it wouldn't be the worst idea to throw a dart at Robinson or Byron Pringle with the last pick in your fantasy draft.

Travis Kelce: Tampa Bay's Rob Gronkowski finished as fantasy's TE8 (126.8) last season and Kelce (260.26, TE1) was so good in 2020 that he actually doubled Gronk up.

Kelce extended his 1,000-yard streak to five seasons and broke the single-season receiving yardage record (1,416) for tight ends in the process. In fact, he set career highs across the board (105/1,416/11) in his age-31 campaign. Kelce ended the regular season with eight consecutive games with at least seven catches.

Regardless of how you slice it, Kelce is not only the slam-dunk TE1 heading into 2021, but he's worth considering towards the end of Round 1.

Kansas City Chiefs 2019 Fantasy Football Projections

In addition to viewing our 2019 Fantasy Football Projections by position, we will post our preseason projections per team.

The upside was clear, but nobody could have anticipated the level of success that Mahomes had in 2018. Not only was he named NFL Most Valuable Player in his first season as a starter, but Mahomes became the first player in league history to finish with a 5,000-yard and 50-TD season. Given the difficulty of repeating that lofty production and the incredible depth at quarterback, it's possible that Mahomes disappoints fantasy owners at his current ADP (even though he's still ranked as my QB1).

From Week 14 through the postseason, Williams went on a scoring spree with 10 touchdowns (six rushing and four receiving) and racked up 602 scrimmage yards on 105 touches including 28 receptions. The Chiefs only added Carlos Hyde (free agency) and Darwin Thompson (sixth round) as competition this offseason so Williams will open the season as the unquestioned lead back. Assuming he maintains that role for the entire season, there is enormous upside in Kansas City's high-powered offense.

Hyde began last season as Cleveland's workhorse -- only Todd Gurley (129) and Ezekiel Elliott (117) had more carries through the first six weeks of the season than Hyde (114). Inefficient (3.35 YPC) on his massive workload, the Browns traded him to Jacksonville and Hyde was even less efficient there (3.26 YPC). Given that Williams lacks a workhorse track record, Hyde and rookie Darwin Thompson are both worth late-round dart throws.

Hill's ADP was already on the rise since June when it was reported that his suspension wouldn't be lengthy. Not only won't there be a lengthy suspension, but there won't be one at all. Among qualified players, Hill led the NFL in yards per touch (15.0) as he racked up 1,630 scrimmage yards and 14 total touchdowns -- 12 receiving, one rushing and one return. With a strong-armed, MVP-winning quarterback, few players can match Hill's weekly upside.

Even though Watkins has played five NFL seasons, he just recently turned 26. That said, he's had just one top-24 season (WR16, 2015) over that five-year span. A major reason for Watkins disappointing start to his career has been durability (or a lack thereof). Over the past four seasons, Watkins has missed three-plus games in three seasons with a total of 18 missed games during that span. There was some optimism with the former fourth-overall pick before it was announced that Hill won't be suspended. But even if Watkins manages to stay healthy for all of 2019, he's no better than third in line for targets.

Blessed with 4.33 speed, Hardman would have been able to make more of an impact if Hill were suspended. While there could be a big game or two given the prolific offense, predicting when would be a dart throw when everyone is healthy.

There is a good chance that Kelce finishes as fantasy's top-scoring tight end (AGAIN) as he has finished as the TE1, TE2 and TE1 over the past three seasons, respectively. Kansas City Chiefs 2019 Fantasy Football Projections

Nobody could have anticipated the level of success that Mahomes had in 2018. Not only was he named NFL Most Valuable Player in his first season as a starter, but Mahomes became the first player in league history to finish with a 5,000-yard and 50-TD season. Given the difficulty of repeating his lofty production, the uncertainty around how many games he may not have Tyreek Hill and the incredible depth at quarterback, I expect to have zero exposure to Mahomes in season-long single-QB leagues in 2019.

From Week 14 through the postseason, Williams went on a scoring spree with 10 touchdowns (six rushing and four receiving) and racked up 602 scrimmage yards on 105 touches including 28 receptions. The Chiefs only added Carlos Hyde (free agency) and Darwin Thompson (sixth round) as competition as Williams will open the season as the lead back. If he maintains that role for the entire season, there is enormous upside in Kansas City's high-powered offense.

If Hyde is able to take over the lead-back role from Williams, who has never had more than 50 regular-season carries, there is league-winning upside given his 10th-round ADP.

The former fourth-overall pick has tremendous upside in the weeks that Hill is suspended.

Playing well in one start as a rookie, Mahomes enters the 2018 season as the starter with Alex Smith traded to Washington this offseason. With a gunslinger mentality a la Brett Favre, Mahomes may be more prone to turnovers than Smith, but he also possesses the ability to push the ball down the field. Adding Sammy Watkins to the receiving corps, the Chiefs have their most talented group of pass-catchers during the Andy Reid era.

Nearly doubling his receiving yardage to 1,183 in year two, Hill closed the season strong with 21 catches for 457 yards and three touchdowns in four December games. There is the potential to improve upon last year's numbers with Mahomes under center, but the addition of Sammy Watkins (a much more talented WR2) to the receiving corps could diminish his opportunity for a major jump in production.
