Baker Mayfield: After Tom Brady's (second) retirement, the Bucs find themselves in the unenviable position of having to choose between Baker Mayfield and Kyle Trask. Even though Tampa hasn't officially named the starter, it's likely going to be Mayfield, who is on his fourth team in the past 18 months. Mayfield completed 60% of his pass attempts in 2022 for 2,163 yards (6.5 Y/A), 10 touchdowns and eight interceptions over 12 games.

Rachaad White: With the Buccaneers releasing Leonard Fournette, who is still a free agent, White enters 2023 atop the team's depth chart. As a 2022 rookie, he had 129 carries for 481 yards (only 3.7 YPC) and a touchdown in addition to 50 receptions for 290 yards and two touchdowns. His best game as a runner (22/105) was against the Seattle Seahawks and his new offensive coordinator Dave Canales, who was Seattle's quarterbacks coach last year.

Chris Godwin: Godwin has missed multiple games in each of the past four seasons. While he set a career high in targets (142) and receptions (104) in 2022 and has reached the 1,000-yard mark in three of his past four seasons, he set a career low in Y/R (9.8) and his three touchdowns were a non-rookie career low. The downgrade at quarterback from Tom Brady to Baker Mayfield (or Kyle Trask) will impact Godwin, Mike Evans and the team's passing offense overall.

Mike Evans: Evans extended his 1,000-yard streak to his first nine NFL seasons, which beat his own record in 2022. While the targets (127), receptions (77), yards (1,124) and Y/R (14.6) all look good, he had only six touchdowns, a five-year low, and he wasn't consistent throughout the season. A monster Week 17 game (20/207/3) against Carolina ended an 11-game scoring drought (Weeks 5-16). Evans exceeded 59 yards only once from Weeks 9-16. Even if he extends his 1,000-yard streak, there could be plenty of ups and downs throughout the course of the season given the quarterback downgrade.

Cade Otton: Otton had 42 catches for 391 yards and two touchdowns on 65 targets as a rookie in 2022 and he had four catches for 58 yards on seven targets in their playoff loss to the Cowboys. Even if his numbers are better in his second season, he's not much more than a fantasy TE2 in 2023.

Washington Football Team 2021 Mock Draft Roundup, 5.0

Throughout the year and leading up to the 2021 NFL draft, we will update our Washington Football Team Mock Draft Roundup showing picks for the Washington Football Team from several prominent sites and draft analysts.

The following are picks in recent mock drafts for Washington:

NFL.com - Zierlein (2/4)

19. Elijah Moore, WR, Mississippi

This is a tough pick to project, as many of the elite position players at areas of need will be gone. Fortunately for Washington, Moore is flying well under the radar. He's a very consistent, high-volume slot receiver with excellent hands and toughness.

NFL.com - Brooks (2/1)

19. Mac Jones, QB, Alabama

Washington is still searching for a long-term answer under center. Jones is a pinpoint pocket passer with the intangibles and leadership skills to act as Ron Rivera's top lieutenant for a team on the rise.

Akron Beacon Journal - Kadar (2/1)

19. Kyle Trask, QB, Florida

Oh Washington. WFT is a mess at quarterback. Yes, the position is so problematic for Washington that the team could be forced to reach a little in the first round. In this instance it will be taking Trask. He's a good player but Washington is in a tough position with the 19th pick and relying on Alex Smith's health is a gamble.

The Ringer - Kelly (1/31)

19. Christian Darrisaw, OT, Virginia Tech

After dealing Trent Williams before the 2020 season, Washington has a chance to install another longtime fixture at the left tackle spot in Darrisaw. The Hokies star has the size, length, and athleticism to excel in multiple blocking schemes and would give the team a quality blindside protector for whoever ends up at quarterback.

USA Today - Davis (1/28)

19. Jaylen Waddle, WR, Alabama

Yep, he'll make it four Crimson Tide wideouts drafted since 2020, sure to join Smith, Henry Ruggs and Jerry Jeudy. Waddle, who averaged 18.9 yards per catch at 'Bama, would bring the big-play capacity the WFT could use while making defenses that opt to double-cover Terry McLaurin think twice. Waddle can also make a difference on special teams, though the ankle injury that derailed his 2020 season came on a kickoff.

ESPN - Kiper (1/26)

19. Kadarius Toney, WR, Florida

I would have liked to get a quarterback for Washington, but my top five are all off the board. Ron Rivera & Co. have to figure out the position, and maybe the answer is a veteran in free agency. Instead let's focus on a wide receiver group that has only Terry McLaurin as a plus starter. Kyle Pitts got a lot of the attention from people watching the Gators this season, but Toney opened the eyes of NFL scouts. He was a Swiss Army knife, catching 70 passes with 10 scores, adding a touchdown as a runner and one more on a punt return. Think of a Tyreek Hill-type playmaker who can beat teams in a variety of ways. We've already seen Washington get creative with Antonio Gibson, and it should find ways to get the ball in Toney's hands.

NFL.com - Jeremiah (1/22)

19. Kadarius Toney, WR, Florida

Toney is electric with the ball in his hands, and the Washington Football Team needs more playmakers. I also wouldn't rule out a trade up for a quarterback if Washington fails to address the position in free agency.

Baltimore Sun - Doon (1/22)

19. Rashod Bateman, WR, Minnesota

Washington's quarterback situation is murky, especially if Alex Smith decides not to return. Unless Washington can make an aggressive move to the top of the board, it seems as if a veteran stopgap -- or perhaps playoff surprise Taylor Heinicke -- will be the starter. The priority should be putting another talented receiver next to young star Terry McLaurin, and the shifty-yet-strong Bateman fits the bill.

Washington Football Team 2021 NFL Mock Draft Roundup, 4.0

The following are picks in recent mock drafts for Washington:

EDSFootball - Kevin Hanson (1/15)

19. Christian Darrisaw, OT, Virginia Tech

Darrisaw, a three-year starter, has continued to improve each season. His athleticism and length will allow him to handle NFL-caliber edge rushers and he's been dominant as a run blocker as well.

San Diego Union Tribune - Eddie Brown (1/13)

19. Kyle Trask, QB, Florida

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say Taylor Heinicke isn't the quarterback of the future here. Trask has legit pocket presence and a surprising touch for such a strong arm. He had a horrible Cotton Bowl against Oklahoma, but that doesn't erase a Heisman-worthy season (he finished fourth). He had 43 touchdown passes (first in the nation) against only eight interceptions, 4,283 passing yards (second in the nation) and a QBR of 88.3 (sixth in the nation).

CBS Sports - Chris Trapasso (1/13)

19. Amon-Ra St. Brown, WR, USC

The Washington Football Team will see a lot of Terry McLaurin in St. Brown. They'll formulate a fun duo that can routinely get open. I think Washington goes the free-agent or trade route at quarterback.

The Athletic - Dane Brugler (1/12)

19. Alijah Vera-Tucker, IOL, USC

Although Cornelius Lucas played above expectations this season, left tackle is a position Washington will consider upgrading. Vera-Tucker was graded as a second-round guard before the season, but he moved to left tackle and played at a high level, boosting his draft grade.

The Draft Network - Joe Marino (1/7)

19. Jalen Mayfield, OT, Michigan

Mayfield is a toolsy blocker that brings an exciting blend of length, size, movement skills, and power to the table. Washington never truly replaced Trent Williams and is in need of an answer at tackle. While the offense is in need of weapons, football games are still won up front, so taking this chance to improve the trenches makes sense.

ESPN - Todd McShay (1/7)

19. Trey Lance, QB, North Dakota State

Here we are again, two years after Washington selected Dwayne Haskins in the first round. It didn't work out. And while Alex Smith has completed an inspiring comeback and led Washington to the playoffs, he isn't the future of this team. Smith averaged just 5 air yards per attempt this season. Coach Ron Rivera needs to be thinking about the direction he wants to take his roster, and Lance would give him a QB to develop. The third-year sophomore had a one-game season in 2020, and he never saw an FBS opponent in his career. But he has strong downfield touch and can tuck and run, and he went the entire 2019 season without an interception.

USA Today - Michael Middlehurst-Schwartz (1/5)

19. Christian Darrisaw, OT, Virginia Tech

Should Ron Rivera look to stay the course with Alex Smith at quarterback, the most reasonable route for Washington to buoy its offense might be bringing on a stalwart tackle.

Athlon Sports - Bryan Fisher (1/5)

19. Rashod Bateman, WR, Minnesota

Don't be shocked if the WFT aims to move up a few spots to secure OL help but if they stick here, they could still have their pick among top wideouts. Bateman's sure hands and size would turn him into a fantastic running mate to Terry McLaurin.
