C.J. Stroud: Stroud has consistently earned praise from his coaches and teammates throughout the offseason. Unsurprisingly, he's been officially named the Week 1 starter against the Baltimore Ravens. An accurate passer when given time in the pocket at Ohio State, Stroud consistently made plays outside of structure against the Georgia Bulldogs in the College Football Playoff. He's off the fantasy radar in single-QB redraft leagues, but he should increase the overall efficiency of Houston's offense in 2023.

Dameon Pierce: Pierce had never exceeded 106 carries in his four seasons at Florida, but he reached that number through his first six games last year with the Texans. While he missed the final four games of the season with an ankle injury, he had 220 carries for 939 yards and four touchdowns through Week 14. He also added 30 catches for 165 yards and a touchdown. The former Gator was the RB15 through Week 14. Despite Houston signing Devin Singletary, Pierce is still a viable RB2 for fantasy managers in 2023.

Devin Singletary: Through four seasons in Buffalo, Singletary had more than 150 carries and averaged exactly 2.4 receptions every year. The workload will certainly decline in Houston, but he would become a RB2 if Pierce were to miss any time.

Nico Collins: Collins appeared in only 10 games last season, but he ranked second to Brandin Cooks on a per-game basis in receptions (3.7) and yards (48.1). With Cooks traded to the Dallas Cowboys, Collins is a breakout candidate and the favorite to lead the Texans' receiving corps in fantasy production.

Robert Woods: Woods arguably had his worst season as he set career lows in yards per reception (9.9), yards per target (5.8) and yards per game (31.0). Although Ryan Tannehill also missed five games, Woods reached the 40-yard receiving mark in only four of 17 games with the Titans in 2022. While his upside is relatively low, it's possible he emerges as the team's most consistent receiver.

Dalton Schultz: Schultz has a minimum of 89 targets in each of the past three seasons, and he has averaged 4.1 receptions and 41.7 yards per game over that span. While he may get a tick less in terms of volume, he has the potential to lead the Texans in receptions in 2023.

Jacksonville Jaguars 2023 Fantasy Football Rankings

Trevor Lawrence: What a difference a year (and a new coaching staff) made for Lawrence! The 2021 NFL Draft's top overall pick completed 66.3% of his pass attempts for 7.0 yards per attempt, while throwing 25 touchdowns and only seven interceptions in 2022. (That compares to 59.6%, 6.0 Y/A and 12:17 TD-INT ratio in 2021.) In fact, Lawrence improved considerably as the season progressed — 69.7% completion rate, 7.4 Y/A and a 15-to-two TD-INT ratio from Weeks 9-18. Bigger things could/should be in store for Lawrence in 2023, as Calvin Ridley joins Christian Kirk, coming off career numbers (84/1108/8 in 2022), Evan Engram, and Travis Etienne.

Travis Etienne: A Lisfranc injury delayed his NFL debut by a year, but Etienne finished as fantasy's RB17 (half-PPR scoring) in 2022 with 220 carries for 1,125 yards and five touchdowns and 35 catches for 316 yards. The main concern with Etienne going into the 2023 season, however, is how the coaching staff will allocate the backfield's workload. For example, the Florida Times-Union's Demetrius Harvey wrote earlier this offseason, Tank Bigsby could even "out-touch [Etienne] in some games depending on who has the hot hand."

Tank Bigsby: The Jaguars used a third-round pick on Bigsby, and the former Auburn Tiger has impressed in the spring and summer. Doug Pederson has said that Bigsby is "better pass-catcher [than anticipated]." There is plenty of upside, even though his ADP has been on the rise, given expectations that Jacksonville plans to shift more of the workload off of Etienne's plate.

Calvin Ridley: Ridley broke out in 2020 with 90 catches for 1,374 yards and nine touchdowns as he finished as fantasy's WR4 (half-PPR scoring). Since then, he served a year-long suspension in 2022 after posting career lows in yards per reception (9.1), yards per target (5.4) and catch rate (59.6%) while appearing in only five games in 2021. Ridley gets a chance to rebound with an ascending quarterback and offense. The upside is through the roof even though he's not the screaming value he was earlier this summer before his ADP skyrocketed.

Christian Kirk: Kirk set career highs across the board — 133 targets, 84 receptions, 1,108 yards and eight touchdowns — in his first season with the Jaguars. It will be difficult for Kirk to duplicate last season's 23.2% target share with Calvin Ridley returning from suspension.

Zay Jones: Trailing only Kirk in receiving, Jones posted a career season (82/823/5 on 121 targets) in 2022 as he finished as fantasy's WR26 in half-PPR scoring. The presence of Ridley as the WR1 pushes Jones down the pecking order for targets, but the offense overall should be even better than it was in 2022.

Evan Engram: The Jaguars designated Engram with the franchise tag, but the two sides reached agreement on a three-year extension. While Engram missed 14 games in his first three seasons (2017-19), he has missed only two games over the past three years. He posted career highs in receptions (73), yards (766) and catch rate (74.5%) in 2022.

Miami Dolphins 2023 Fantasy Football Projections

Tua Tagovailoa: Tagovailoa sustained multiple concussions, causing him to miss five games (counting a playoff loss) in 2022, and he even considered retiring after last season. When healthy, however, he posted career numbers and led the NFL in TD% (6.3), Y/A (8.9) and passer rating (105.5). Excluding the games he missed or left early (Weeks 4-6 and 17-18), Tagovailoa scored the seventh-most fantasy points over that span. Of course, durability and the potential for missed time factors into his 2023 outlook, but there is plenty of optimism if his health cooperates.

Jeff Wilson Jr.: Following Wilson's midseason trade to Miami, both Raheem Mostert (Week 12) and Wilson (Week 15) missed one game each. In the games in which they both appeared, Wilson (82 touches) edged Mostert (80) in workload. Going into the 2023 season, I project Wilson to maintain a relatively slight edge. Clouding the outlook for both has been Miami's consistent interest in various free agents or trade candidates (e.g., Jonathan Taylor) and the addition of De'Von Achane, their speedy third-round rookie.

Raheem Mostert: Mostert missed only one game in 2022, but it was just the second season of his career where he didn't miss significant time. He has played only 61 games over the past six seasons. Without any new additions to the backfield, Mostert should get 10-12 touches per game as long as he's healthy, and he's never averaged less than 4.9 YPC in a season.

De'Von Achane: Achane has elite speed, as the former Texas A&M running back (and track star) posted a 4.32 40-yard dash at the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine. While his frame suggests he won't handle a high volume of carries in between the tackles, it's a huge positive that Mike McDaniel lobbied for the third-round pick. Even though both Wilson and Mostert are in front of him on the depth chart, Achane could be thrust into a larger role than expected as a rookie given the durability histories of Wilson and Mostert. Speaking of injuries, however, Achane is still dealing with a shoulder injury.

Tyreek Hill: After transitioning from Patrick Mahomes and Kansas City's high-powered offense, the drop in production that many forecast for Hill never materialized. In fact, the explosive wideout averaged more than 100 receiving yards per game for the first time ever as he set career highs in targets (170), receptions (119) and yards (1,710) in 2022. It's still unclear if Hill will eventually face a suspension for a June 18th incident, which has been resolved from a legal standpoint.

Jaylen Waddle: With Tyreek Hill setting career highs in targets, receptions and yards, it's not a surprise that Waddle's targets dropped to 117 (in 2022) from 140 (in 2021). That said, he was utilized further downfield as his ADOT jumped to 12.7 (from 7.0), per PFF, and he led the NFL in yards per reception (18.1). He finished as fantasy's WR7 overall and was 13th on a per-game basis (13.0).

Durham Smythe: The Dolphins have only two healthy tight ends on their initial 53-man roster, so Smythe is the runaway favorite to lead Miami's tight ends in fantasy points. That said, it's unlikely that Smythe produces a fantasy-usable season. After all, Mike Gesicki had only 32/362/5 receiving for the Dolphins last season.

Cincinnati Bengals 2023 Fantasy Football Projections

Joe Burrow: Does any team have as talented of a trio as the Bengals do with Ja'Marr Chase, Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd? Burrow's rookie season (2020) ended prematurely after sustaining a torn ACL, but he has a 69.3% completion rate, 69 touchdowns (6.1 TD%) and 8.1 yards per attempt average over the past two years. Returning to practice after missing roughly a month, Burrow (calf strain) is on track to play Week 1 against the Cleveland Browns.

Joe Mixon: Missing multiple games in all but two seasons (2019 and 2021), Mixon has been an inefficient (career 4.1 YPC) workhorse (16.4 carries per game). In addition, he set career highs as a receiver in targets (75), receptions (60) and yards (441) in 2022.

Ja'Marr Chase: Chase missed five games in 2022, but in some ways, his numbers were even better in his second season. Chase averaged a 7.3/87.2/0.75 line and fell short of 50 receiving yards in only one of 12 games last season. As a rookie, he averaged 4.8/85.6/0.77 per game, but he failed to reach 50 receiving yards in six games in his debut season. Assuming that Chase stays healthy, bigger and better things should be expected in his age-23 season.

Tee Higgins: Other than perhaps the Dolphins with Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle or the Eagles with A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith, no team has a better WR duo than the Bengals have with Chase and Higgins. As he enters his age-24 season, the former Clemson Tiger already has three years of consistent production with a total of 215 catches for 3,028 yards and 19 touchdowns. Higgins has a minimum of three catches in 38 of the 41 games in which he played at least 50% of the offensive snaps.

Tyler Boyd: Boyd set five-year lows in targets (82), receptions (58) and yards (762) in 2022. Even so, he has extended his streak of top-36 seasons (half-PPR scoring) to five. He's a relatively low-upside flex option, other than weeks where either Chase or Higgins is sidelined.

Irv Smith Jr.: Smith has appeared in only eight (23.5%) of 34 games over the past two seasons. With Hayden Hurst now in Carolina, Smith slots in atop Cincinnati's depth chart. Hurst had 52/414/2 receiving in 13 games last season, and Jets tight end C.J. Uzomah had 49/493/5 for Cincinnati in 2021. Provided his health cooperates, Smith has a chance to at least post similar numbers to Hurst and Ozumah over the past two seasons.

New Orleans Saints 2023 Fantasy Football Projections

Derek Carr: Carr was fantasy's QB15 through Week 16 before being benched in Week 17 by Josh McDaniels last year. Now in New Orleans, Carr improves the outlook for the team's pass catchers (as an upgrade over Andy Dalton), but he remains little more than a solid QB2 in fantasy football. Since 2014, he has finished in the QB13-QB20 range every year except 2016 (QB10).

Alvin Kamara: Eligible to play in Week 4 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Kamara will serve a lighter-than-expected three-game suspension to start the season. Kamara's production has dipped over the past two seasons — averaged only 3.9 YPC, rushed for half as many touchdowns (six) as "tight end" Taysom Hill (12) with a total of only 104 receptions after finishing with 80-plus in each of his first four seasons. Even so, he has finished as the RB16 (2022) and RB8 (2021) on a PPG basis (half-PPR).

Jamaal Williams: Coming off a career season, Williams carried the ball 262 times for 1,066 yards and a league-high 17 touchdowns. As long as both Kamara and Williams are active (after Kamara's three-game suspension), he'll be a complementary option to Kamara, but Williams could get the larger share of valuable goal-line opportunities.

Chris Olave: Olave finished his outstanding rookie season with 72 receptions for 1,042 yards and four touchdowns. While he missed two games last season, he never finished with fewer than three receptions or 40 yards in the 15 games he played. The second-year receiver should benefit from the upgrade at quarterback and could take a big step forward in 2023.

Michael Thomas: From 2016 to 2019, Thomas posted better numbers in each successive season — 92/1,137/9, 104/1,245/5, 125/1,405/9 and 149/1,725/9, respectively. Since then, however, he has appeared in only 10 games over three seasons and totaled 56 catches for 609 yards and three touchdowns during that span. Few receivers have a wider range of potential outcomes than Thomas, who is entering his age-30 season.

Juwan Johnson: Johnson had a career season with 42 catches for 508 yards and seven touchdowns in 2022. Depending on how much the Saints get from Michael Thomas, it may be difficult to repeat those numbers this season. Then again, Johnson and Carr have quickly established chemistry and he should be drafted as a high-upside TE2.

Taysom Hill: Hill will throw a few passes and catch a few, but most of his fantasy production will come from his rushing production. Over the past three seasons, he has a total of 253 carries for 1,406 yards (5.6 Y/A) and 20 touchdowns.

Cleveland Browns 2023 Fantasy Football Projections

Deshaun Watson: Appearing in only six games over the past two seasons, Watson started slow (under 13 fantasy points in three of his first four games) but closed 2022 with two solid performances — 21.9 (weekly QB8) and 19.6 (QB6), respectively. Given his dual-threat skill set, he has upside for a quarterback drafted as a back-end QB1.

Nick Chubb: Chubb has a career average of 5.2 yards per carry, but he has also yet to average fewer than 5.0 YPC in any of his first five NFL seasons. The talented back carried the ball 302 times last season for 1,525 yards and 12 touchdowns, all of which set or tied career highs. While he's averaged only 1.6 receptions per game over his career, his passing-game role may (or should) expand with Kareem Hunt no longer on the roster.

Jerome Ford: While Kareem Hunt had a disappointing 2022 season, we've seen how productive a second back could be for the Browns in previous seasons. Ford may not get the same workload previously given to Hunt, but he immediately becomes fantasy-relevant as Chubb's handcuff, at a minimum. While he's missed the past several weeks (hamstring), there is "hope" that he'll be ready for Week 1.

Amari Cooper: Cooper finished his first season as a Brown with 78 receptions for 1,160 yards and a career-high nine touchdowns. Finishing the year as fantasy's WR9 (half-PPR scoring), Cooper had six top-12 weeks, but he also finished outside the top 50 wide receivers six times. It was the sixth 1,000-yard season of Cooper's eight-year career. In theory, a full season with Deshaun Watson under center should be good for Cooper's 2023 fantasy outlook, but there is also increased competition for targets.

Elijah Moore: Before an injury ended his rookie season prematurely, Moore had 34 catches for 459 yards and five touchdowns over his final six games in 2021. (Moore was so good during that span that only Justin Jefferson had more fantasy points over that stretch.) When he was on the field in 2022, however, things didn't go nearly as well, but he'll get an opportunity to reset with the Browns in 2023.

Donovan Peoples-Jones: DPJ played a full 17-game season, and he shattered previous career highs in targets (96), receptions (61) and yards (839). Unforuntately, it could be difficult to improve upon those numbers with increased competition around him.

David Njoku: Njoku missed three games in 2022, but it was otherwise a career year for the athletic tight end. He averaged 4.1 receptions and 44.9 yards per game, both of which were career highs. Njoku finished ninth in half-PPR points per game in 2022.

Jimmy Garoppolo: Replacing Derek Carr with Jimmy Garoppolo is a lateral move, at best, for the Raiders and the offense's outlook overall. From a fantasy perspective, Jimmy G. offers no upside as a runner and is a middling QB2, at best.

Josh Jacobs: Jacobs led the NFL in rushing yards (1,653), yards from scrimmage (2,053) and touches (393) in 2022. He dominated the team's running back touches, as the rest of the team's backs had a total of 77 (16.4%). In addition, Jacobs averaged a career-high 4.9 YPC and has now exceeded 50 catches in back-to-back seasons. While there was plenty of offseason drama around his status, Jacobs is back in the building on a one-year, $12 million contract.

Zamir White: White, a fourth-round pick in 2022, played much less than expected during his rookie season (17 carries in 2022). The Athletic's Tashan Reed wrote in June that "the Raiders may call on White to balance out the workload a bit more in 2023." Even though Jacobs is back, White is a final-round sleeper worth stashing on your fantasy bench(es).

Davante Adams: In his first season without Aaron Rodgers, Adams was targeted a career-high 180 times and finished with 100 catches for 1,516 yards and a league-leading 14 touchdowns. Adams remains the league's best red zone weapon with double-digit touchdowns in six of the past seven seasons.

Jakobi Meyers: Meyers finished with 67 catches for 804 yards and six touchdowns in 2022 as he averaged a career-high 57.4 YPG. Given his familiarity with the offense and that Darren Waller is now a Giant, Meyers should rank (albeit a distant) second on the team in receiving, producing flex numbers in 2023.

Michael Mayer: While he's not an elite athlete, Mayer is a savvy route-runner with strong hands who led Notre Dame in receiving all three years he was in South Bend. His all-around skill set could accelerate his adjustment to the NFL.

Austin Hooper: Hooper was a top-10 fantasy tight end in back-to-back seasons in 2018 and 2019, respectively, but that feels like an eternity ago. The Raiders drafted Michael Mayer in the second round, and although rookie tight ends tend to start slowly, Mayer is clearly their tight end of the future.

Matthew Stafford: There were concerns with Stafford and his elbow heading into the 2022 season, and the veteran quarterback managed to appear in only nine games due to a spinal cord contusion. Stafford threw 10 touchdowns (3.3 TD%, his lowest since 2012) and eight interceptions and averaged 6.9 yards per attempt (lowest since 2018) with an 87.4 passer rating (lowest since 2014). If Stafford can stay healthy in 2023, how close will he be to the 2021 version who led the Rams to the Super Bowl and finished as a top-five fantasy quarterback?

Cam Akers: Akers missed nearly all of 2021 with a torn Achilles, but his volume has fluctuated quite a bit when healthy. Much of his 2022 production came during the final six weeks of the season when he finished with 104 carries for 512 yards (4.92 YPC) and six touchdowns and 11 receptions for 99 yards on 12 targets. Only Christian McCaffrey (767) — and wide receiver A.J. Brown — had more YFS from Weeks 13-18 than Akers (611).

Kyren Williams: He may be small (5-9 and 194 pounds) and slow (4.65 40-yard dash) by NFL standards, but Williams profiles as a third-down back who also has a shot to lead the team's running backs in receptions.

Cooper Kupp: Kupp pulled off the rare triple crown of receiving in 2021, finishing with 145 catches for 1,947 yards and 16 touchdowns. While he missed roughly half of his follow-up season, the 2021 NFL Offensive Player of the Year had a better season than maybe most realized. Who led ALL receivers in half-PPR fantasy points scored in 2022 on a per-game basis? Yep, it was Kupp — not Justin Jefferson, or any other receiver. Kupp has been dealing with a hamstring injury, but he should be good to go for Week 1.

Van Jefferson: Making his season debut in Week 8 (and playing mostly when Kupp was out), Jefferson had only 24 catches for 369 yards and three touchdowns in nine games last season. Jefferson is an uninspiring WR5 in fantasy.

Tyler Higbee: Higbee set career highs in targets (108, fourth-most among TEs) and receptions (72, fifth) in 2022. While Cooper Kupp missed nearly half of the season, Higbee's per-game numbers were actually better with Kupp (4.9/43 on 7.2 targets) than without Kupp (3.5/29 on 5.4 targets). At a position where volume is inconsistent outside of the elite options, there is value in the consistency of Higbee's volume.
